It's been more than 5 weeks since my last posting. The reason for such a long time lag is simple: I have a new website. My new site is at www.charlesakrugel.com. All of my content (i.e., posts, links, comments, media, link exchanges, everything) has been transferred to this new site. I'll be taking down this site shortly, and this is my final post here. The new site is on the WordPress platform and looks fantastic (in my opinion). Thanks to Alex Mielus and his brother George from Bucharest, Romania, and RentACoder.com for helping me with this. Also, on November 8, 2007, from 1 pm-3:30 pm CST, I'll be doing an unemployment compensation seminar to be broadcasted live for the Human Resources Training Center. I'll be doing this seminar in partnership with David Prosnitz, the President and Founder of Personnel Planners Inc., an unemployment compensation cost reduction and control company based in Chicago. Below is the HRTC's course description:Title: Learn How To Reduce Unempl

Look out Chad Vader and Lonelygirl15, my very 1st TV interview has been uploaded to YouTube and Google Video. The interview, which runs 30 minutes long, is in 2 formats. One format is the entire "The Employment Hour" Show, which was taped on 9/1/06. Obviously, this is a 1 hour program (unless you're Rodney Dangerfield's wife, in which case it will take you 90 minutes to watch). The other format has the interview broken up into 3 ten minute segments. Here's the link for the entire interview: http://www.youtube.com/watch. I'm very excited to announce that on Friday, 9/1/06, I shot my very 1st TV interview. It will air in early October. The interview is for 30 minutes (3-ten minute segments), and is for Comcast's local access program--The Employment Hour (channel 19 I believe for most Chicagoland areas). The subject of the interview is labor & employment law. Podcast and Internet versions will soon be uploaded to http://employmenthour.com/index.htm, and I hope to have the video on my blog and uploaded to either Google Video or You Tube. According to the show's website, "The Employment Hour is a visionary effort to benefit both employers and employees by providing a platform for education, and for the exchange of information and ideas. This is the first Radio/TV Show in the country to focus on increasing knowledge and awareness while informing, motivating and educating.â€Thanks much to show's producer, Mohammed Faheem, for asking me to appear on the show. About 9 months ago, I struck up an acquaintance with Randy Roberts, the founder of the very distinguished Law and Policy Institutions Guide (http://lpig.org/founder_lpig.html). More than 6 years ago, Randy created this extremely useful and comprehensive catalog of free legal resources and it's all contained in a well-organized website at www.lpig.org.
As stated on the home page: The "Law and Policy Institutions Guide serves as a comprehensive repository of legal resources, law articles, legal practice information, as well as legislative and judicial resources for U.S. and international legal professionals. It is organized and designed with the research needs of legal professionals, law students, consultants, authors, and the public in mind.â€
In the past 6 years, the LPIG has received many awards and distinctions (http://lpig.org/awards.html), including recognition by the USA Today, the New York Times and the ConsumerWebWatch.org.
Last Thusday (8/17), Randy asked me to join his

Two more photos of me in the River North area of Downtown Chicago taken on the Kinzie Street bridge. Photos taken 9/21/05, a 90 degree day. Hopefully, the last 90 degree day in Chicago for a while. Although, come January/February, I'm sure most Chicagoans, including myself, will be begging for this weather. Click on the photos to see larger images.
An article I wrote has just been published on the Small Business Chicago.net website. It's a brief piece on my definition and perspective on human resources. Additionally, I discuss project labor agreements and Illinois' pending legislation and President Bush's Executive Order 13202 (which prohibits the use of project labor agreements in federally funded projects) to place my HR perspectives and definition into a real world context. I hope that you enjoy it and learn something, and even if you don't you can at least pretend you did.

My letter is only a few sentences long but also humorous (well, atleast it's an attempt at humor). Not too shabby considering that thisis the 1st time I ever wrote a letter to any newspaper.
Here's the letter:

Keep it clean Charles Krugel Published June 3, 2005
Chicago -- Kudos to Charlie Madigan for his humorous column "You talkin' dirty to me?" (Commentary, May 31). Everyone should subscribe to my personal adage: Manners are the condoms of social intercourse. Keeping it clean doesn't mean it can't be fun or funny.
