One of the many nice things about attending the Chocolate Show was the opportunity to familiarize myself with all the chocolatiers to which I normally don’t have access. One of the gems I found was Christopher Norman Chocolates. Despite the fact that I can somewhat easily travel to New York City, I’ve never made it to the area where their factory and shop are located. After tasting their samples at the show, it is now on my “to do” list.
These chocolates belong to the painted tiles series that they produce, which is only one out of an impressive array of other chocolate bonbons. John Down, the Chief Chocolatier, uses an innovative artistic technique blending fine painting and good chocolate. So you could say he is a master of both mediums!

Christopher Walken and Alessandro Nivola will star in Nigel Cole’s (Calendar Girls, Saving Grace) road-trip caper film Five Dollars a Day. The script will be written by Neal and Tippi Dobrofsky.
The movie will see Walken play a conman, who is proud of living the life of luxury on just $5 a day, reunite with his son (Nivola) who had been jailed for on of his father’s crimes.
I just know I’ll love a film when Christopher Walken in it and am looking forward to this one. Principal photography will begin in New Mexico and Atlantic City in mid-September

That’s how Mugatu, played by Will Ferrell, felt about Derek Zoolander’s looks in the the 2001 movie Zoolander. When I read some of the things that atheists write I feel the same way. The truth looks so obvious, but it is somehow missed in almost every case.

X-23: The Target kicks all kinds of ass. As a sequel to the rather good X-23, it makes only one sequel mistake (it inserts a previously unknown character) while totally changing its focus (X-23 is now the main character) but still providing a neat link to the first one (when get to see X-23 read the story narrating the first series). So as a popcorn comic book, this moves are really frigging cool... because a lot of the comic is just watching X-23 kick ass.Yost and Kyle create some great--developing--character relationships and the series really moves over a period of time. Even in the couple pages where a month passes with X-23 staking something out, there's real development even in those pages. Christopher Hitchens is this week’s guest on Point of Inquiry. He discuss ‘God is Not Great’ with D.J. Grothe. He explains his aims behind writing the book and how it fits in with the current wave of atheist bestsellers.
I do like his point that if you want to see something that’s marvelous and awe inspiring, take a look through the Hubble telescope, once you have, you can’t really be impressed by the ‘burning bush’. As he says:
“We do have a need for the transcendent but that doesn’t mean we have a need for the supernatural.”
He also talks about the immorality of the Bible, how religion is bad for one’s health and the war between the West and Islamism.

A former FHP trooper was arrested today on two counts of Lewd and Lascivious Exhibition involving two girls 15 years old or younger.Danny Christopher Bowers, 41, was arrested at a traffic stop at State Road 52 and Little Road at about 5 p.m. Monday on a warrant issued by the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, said sheriff's spokesman Doug Tobin.Bowers was taken to the Land O'Lakes detention center and is being held in lieu of $20,000 bond.Bowers was fired by the FHP several years ago after he allegedly bungled a number of investigations, including a possible DUI crash where he allegedly drove the driver home in his patrol car and began a sexual relationship with her within a few days.
My favorite thing about X-23 is really simple: a single narrator. I'm not a fan of the first person narrator's journals or thoughts replacing the thought balloon or the exposition box in general, but I can't stand series with multiple narrators per issue... or special issues where the different narrator sounds just the same as the regular series narrator (both sound--shockingly--just like the writer). So by keeping the single narrator throughout--and not forgetting about her for an issue or two--X-23 is already leagues ahead of my expectations.The comic's success is on its plot--it's a science discovery slash international intrigue thriller--and its characters. You know the feeling... the one that makes your spine ... twinge. I'm sure everyone is different, to some, "Sailing" might stir revulsion or make one click to another song on their playlist (in the old days it was just "move the dial" ). I have been thinking of other songs that have the same affect as "Sailing" and its really hard to conjure a list straight of the bat. I thought of Little River Band's " Cool Change" (oddly, that's about sailing, is there something about sailing thats serene? ) or the song "1979" by Smashing Pumpkins and maybe "One Tree Hill" by U2. I think what makes a song like "Sailing" special is that you don't hear the song everyday, they also have a melancholy but also a sweet memory, yeah... bittersweet, as such.
