Chris Sligh became famous worldwide when he appeared and finished in 10th place on the sixth season of American Idol. Sligh was perfectly happy with his placing in the competition, as it allowed him to go on tour with the remaining 9 finalists. He never made a big deal about winning or losing, he just [...]
TMZ has obtained video of 'American Idol' castoff, curly-haired Chris Sligh, in his first performance since being booted off the show. Watch a clip from his 'Fro Patro Homecoming Tour' in his hometown of Greenville, South Carolina
'American Idol' castoff Chris Sligh updated a blog posting that many took as critical of fellow 'Idol' castoff Sanjaya Malakar. "My recent blog post about Sanjaya seemed to get a lot of people up in arms," Sligh writes at frommymindtoyoureyes. "Thoug
I’m really bothered about recent reprots of Chris Sligh actually thinking of quitting American Idol a couple weeks ago after his botched “Endless Love” performance. He has told the media that he decided he wanted to stay on just to make the Top 10 becuase he could then make the tour and thus receive a paycheck for it. I thought the whole purpose of getting on the show would be to ultimately be named “American Idol” but obviously to Mr. Sligh, that was just not the case. Look at all the others that were booted off that did have aspirations of becoming an Idol in their own right and who obviously sang better than Chris (Sabrina Sloan and Stephanie Edwards). I dunno, I really liked Chris from the start with his snarky humor (”I want to see David Hasselhoff cry”) but when he made that shout out to Dave (votefortheworst.com) well, makes you want to question really what Chris’ intentions were. Obviously he knew himself that he was in je
Its amazing to hear Chris Sligh confessing to wanting to leave the competition prior to his elimination last week. According to the curly haired guy from South Carolina, he only wanted to make it to the Top 10 in order to participate in the American Idol Summer Tour and NOT I quote "winning it"!This similar reason have been given by Mario Vazquez on Season 4 as well but he decided to leave right when he made it to the Top 12. I guess getting tied down to the marketing company is a big deciding factor to these two gentlemen and that in itself says a lot about the competition. I wonder what Kelly Clarkson have to say about all this?
I’m curious to see if Chris Sligh’s shout out to Dave (the owner of Votefortheworst.com) after his performance last night is going to get him in trouble. Evidently Dave challenged Chris to give him a shout out in exchange for votes. That is speculation, but I don’t know why Dave would do that, especially since obviously he is trying to get everyone to vote for Sanjaya.
Dave blogged about last night’s show on his site:
Best Episode of Idol EVER. EVER. I mean, come on now. Between Sanjaya giving the most VFTW worthy performance in the history of the show and Chris Sligh giving me a shoutout on national TV and pissing off the judges (and probably producers)… I must say I love this show. I’ve got to vote for Sanjaya out of loyalty since he’s the VFTW pick, but I don’t see how Chris Sligh can’t be our backup when Sanjaya leaves if he loves VFTW so much. And we love him! Chris, you are the man. And Sanjaya, you are hysterical. I love them both so much ri
