Book Reviews When I do my classroom observation on Fridays I generally have time, when the kids are out of the classroom at lunch or in “specials”, to peruse the classroom library. As I do this I take notes on what they are about, what strikes me about them, what I like, etc. Today I spent a little time today transcribing those notes as formal book reviews on Epinions. I’m always on the hunt for new organic kids clothing that’s different than the usual and I am loving Little Marmara. Founded by parentrepreneur Gabrielle Ackerman, Little Marmara items are all made from 100% chemical-free organic Turkish cotton and you just can’t get better than that. And apparently it’s hard to get softer than that. Contrary to much of the older organic fabrics which were slightly on the scratchy side (think wearing a hemp necklace all over), this fabric is amazingly soft. He is currently being shown by advanced riders and being ridden by beginner day campers.

 This is a wonderful pony, with a temperement to die for. Super nice mover, slow and steady, nice balanced canter, wonderful form. Would make a great poles or EQ pony, but could do large jumping as well. Currently schooling 2'6 easy, loves the challange of bigger fences. Very fancy, quiet with no bad habits. SIMPLE great show pony suitable for A rated shows.

 Emerson is a 5yr-old bay gelding with tons of potential. He is a great mover with a 10 jump. Has the athleticism of a thoroughbred with the mind of a warmblood. He will jump anything you put in front of him. Height is not a problem has free jumped 4'6 and had been schooling at 3'last December. Owner was out of the country from Jan-April of this year and Emerson has been back in training for 3 months. Last year he went to some local shows in Michigan and did very well, always in the ribbons. He has done some A shows as well and again did great. He has the potential to be very competitive in the dressage ring as well, but his training has been focused on the hunters with limited basic dressage.
