I'm still up in the air about it.When evaluating the Chiefs' 2008 draft, you have to take into account the big trade of Jared Allen to the Minnesota Vikings. Before the trade the Chiefs owned the 5th, 35th, 66th, 105th, 136th, 140th, 170th, 187th, 210th, and 239th.They then traded the franchise in Jared Allen, who is just 26 and hitting his peak for the 17th, 73rd, 82nd and 182nd for Allen and the 187th pick.The trade with Lions cost KC the 17th, 66th, an 136th pick for the 15th and 76th pick.So the Chiefs ended up with 13 draft picks. As I watched the NFL Draft the past two days, I just hoped that the Chiefs would bring in someone that would make the Jared Allen trade worth while. I was maybe one of the only Chiefs fans not happy with the trade, and while I still am not 100 percent happy with the move, I definitely can live with it now.First RoundIf you have to give up a great defensive player in Jared Allen, no doubt getting the best defensive player in the draft is worth it and thats what the Chiefs got in Glenn Dorsey. I’m a fan of the new streamlined NFL draft. Thanks to the new time limit, I was able to watch the entire first round while still sober.Which, I have discovered, makes it much easier to report on the draft after that fact. There’s no good way to judge a draft the day after it happens. None of us know how these players are going to turn out.
