Chicagoland Police suspected of Child Endangerment ...by Arrested Parent
It was sleeting in Chicago.Mom parked in a WalMart loading zone next to a family tying a Christmas Tree to their car, turned off the car and flipped on the emergency flashers and alarm. She was never out of sight of her locked car while she escorted her older daughters 10 paces to the Salvation Army Kettle to donate 8 bucks and change. She snapped a couple of pictures. They never went inside the store.Inside the car was a 2-year old, buckled into her seat, still asleep. Thanks goodness their was a community service officer nearby to "help."So what if there was no evidence of abuse or neglect. Clearly, this is exactly the kind of criminal we build prisons for and she should spend the next year of her miserable life behind bars!?So the helpful officer chewed Mom out, handcuffed her, placed her

In The Barren Deli Chicagoland, I Miss Steve's
Steve's Deli When I first moved from Detroit to Chicago, one of my first questions was: “Where are the good delis?” My question was promptly followed by the answer: “There are none.” “Really? There must be a few. There are a lot of Jews in Chicago.” “Nope, no good delis.” I tried Eppy’s— horrible. The Bagel in Lakeview was decent, but a deli calls for more than decent. It calls for, well, the kind of reaction Meg Ryan had at Katz’s in When Harry Met Sally. Seriously, I’m asking for a damn good corned beef sandwich. But I’m not expecting a Second Avenue Deli or a Katz’s, I’m asking for well, Steve’s. Steve’s is easily the best deli in Detroit and soon-to-be the best in Chicago. When my younger sister heard that Steve’s was opening up

The team battled a variety of handling conditions throughout the 267-lap event before Waltrip regained competitive form in the closing laps. “My NAPA AUTO PARTS Camry started out competitive, but we lost the handle on it during the middle part of the race, and it cost us a ton of ground,” said Waltrip after starting the race in 28th position. “The crew worked incredibly hard, and by the end, we rebounded and got our Camry in competitive form. We battled Nemechek for position there at the end and went back and forth. I really wanted to top him, but he was just a little better than us when it mattered most

      Chicagoland Flower And Garden Show
The Chicagoland Flower & Garden Show started today and I didn't even realize it. Since I last blogged about the show moving to Rosemont, IL I hadn't really given it much thought. I don't think I even saw a single advertisement for it or heard anyone talk about it. The reason that the show even crossed my mind today was because I saw visits to my blog's previous entry on the subject. If you arrive at the blog looking for a deal, I'm sorry to tell you I don't know of any coupons for the event. I checked the site for the Chicagoland Flower & Garden Show and I don't see any coupons there either. Anyway if anyone goes I'd be interested to hear of your thoughts on the show and changes they may have made.Garden Blogger in Chicago
