Chicago White Sox vs. Baltimore Orioles: April 16th, 2008
Chicago White Sox vs. Baltimore OriolesThe powerful Chicago White Sox beat our Birds, 3-1, last night at the Yard. Jose Contreras who was beat up in his last start looked like an ace, only giving up a run of only four hits.On the other hand, Adam Loewen was good -- only after the first inning. Jim Thome hit a monster three-run homer to give Chicago all they needed. The White Sox bullpen shut down the Orioles, and not much else was done.Aubrey Huff drove in the only run for Baltimore last night, and after a strong start to the season, the Orioles have only won two of out their last nine games. And yes, attendance was another sad number -- only 12,080.

A interesting piece of baseball history might be opened even further as a box containing thousands of rare documents, letters and memos that detail events surrounding the so-called Black Sox scandal of the 1919 World Series will be up for auction starting Monday. If you need some background, the 1919 World Series ended in a scandal the rocked the world of baseball. Well, eight players from the Chicago White Sox allegedly threw the 1919 World Series against the Cincinnati Reds. The players were acquitted of the charges; however, they were banned from professional baseball for life. The Chicago players included the great "Shoeless" Joe Jackson; pitchers Eddie Cicotte and Claude "Lefty" Williams; infielders Buck Weaver, Arnold "Chick" Gandil, Fred McMullin, and Charles "Swede" Risberg; and outfielder Oscar "Happy" Felsch. From the New York Times: Experts say the material may offer more insight about the White Sox, whose actions during the Series against the Cincinnati Reds became one of the

Chicago White Sox Win 6-4 Against Cleveland Indians
Thanks to a two-run homer in the bottom of the 13th inning by Juan Uribe, the Chicago White Sox managed to secure a 6-4 victory over the Cleveland Indians. This winning hit by Juan Uribe made up for some mistakes he made in the 12th inning which gave the Cleveland Indians a 4-3 lead for a short period of time. Uribe said: “The two errors were in the back of my mind,” “I’m glad I was able to come through because I felt the game might have been different if I made those two plays.” I think Chicago fans can forgive him after his home runs won the game for the White Sox. What did you think of the game? What did you make of Juan Uribe’s performance? Source Written by Sam for Product ReviewsIn Sections: News, Sports News

Can the South Side Boys Do it Again: Chicago White Sox 2007 Season Preview
On the South Side of Chicago, fans were euphoric after winning the World Series in 2005, and fans were looking forward to the boys in black to have a back to back championship season. White Sox GM, Ken Williams worked in earnest to improve the team from what it was in 2005 into 2006 with more wheeling and dealing. In the end, their mission was not successful and the White Sox finished third with 90 wins in a stacked division featuring the Minnesota Twins and Detroit Tigers. The White Sox were strong throughout the season, but a bad August & September all but doomed the team.In light of not heading to the postseason in 2006, the White Sox seem ready to make a run at the AL Central once again in 2007. Under the watchful of charismatic, yet controversial manger, Ozzie Guillen, much of the core of the team returns as well as several new additions, such as former Angel Darrin Erstad, Andrew Sisco from the Royals, along with Gavin Floyd, Toby Hall, & David Aardsma. The team jettisoned se
