I am looking to replace my 10 bolt in my 98 Z71 with a 6 lug 14 bolt. I need a little advice.I am mostly into cars as a hobby and I always used my truck for work. But I want to start fixing up my truck now. A junkyard out near me(NY)has a rebuilt rear for $1200. Does this sound like a good price? How do I know that the rear I am getting from the junkyard is for a 4x4? Do I go by the numbers (where can I look them up)? Chevy has completed the Aveo facelifts and will introduce the updated Euro-market 3-door at the Geneva Motor Show next month. You can sum it up like this: it's like the Aveo5, minus the doors for second-row passengers. The rear windows pop open for ventilation and an 84-horse 1.2L or step-up 1.4L that generates 101 hp will supply power. The interior styling carries over, as do the exterior visuals that share the Aveo5's gigantic grille, fake fender vents, and the like. When we first got word earlier this year that GM was working on a new small rear-wheel-drive platform called Alpha, everyone thought that Cadillac and Pontiac would be the first brands to get it. A rear-wheel-drive replacement for the Euro-only BLS was a given, considering that Cadillac has to compete more aggressively with the BMW 3-series over there. The Pontiac model, meanwhile, was expected to replace the front-wheel-drive Epsilon-based G6. Its inclusion in Pontiac’s lineup would give the brand two rear-wheel-drive sports sedans, finally offering customers some of that excitement they’ve been promised for so long.

NEW DELHI: After Spark, General Motors’ next small car in India may be the Chevy Beat. The company, which showcased three mini concepts in the New York Auto Show in April (the Trax, Groove and Beat), has indicated that it will commercially produce the Beat.
Sources say the small car, developed by GMDAT (GM Daewoo Auto & Technology) in Korea like the Spark, will target markets like India, China and Korea. The Beat goes into production in Korea in 2009.

After GM’s introduction of three compact cars at the 2007 New York Auto Show - the Beat, Groove, and Trax - they left it up to the public to decide which one would be produced. Well, more than 1.8 million people worldwide voted on GM’s online survey, and one has beaten down the competition. At the 2007 LA Auto Show, Bob Lutz announced that a vehicle based on the Chevy Beat concept will go into global production outside the North America in mid-2009. Production will begin in South Korea where the car was originally created at GM’s design studio in Bupyeong. GM is still undecided as to whether the Beat will be eventually sold in the United States.

After GM's introduction of three compact cars at the 2007 New York Auto Show - the Beat, Groove, and Trax - they left it up to the public to decide which one would be produced. Well, more than 1.8 million people worldwide voted on GM's online survey, and one has beaten down the competition. At the 2007 LA Auto Show, Bob Lutz announced that a vehicle based on the Chevy Beat concept will go into global production outside the North America in mid-2009. Production will begin in South Korea where the car was originally created at GM's design studio in Bupyeong. GM is still undecided as to whether the Beat will be eventually sold in the United States. The only specific word out about the Malibu is that it will share the same hybrid system as the Saturn VUE Green Line and the Saturn Aura Green Line.
The hybridized Malibu sedan, like the Saturns, is targeted for a 10–15% increase in fuel economy and will focus its hybrid benefits instead on maintaining power and handling–and keeping the price of the electric system, components, and instrumentation as low as possible. Built in Kansas City, the hybrid Malibu will have a four-cylinder, 2.4-liter engine with front-wheel drive and automatic transmission.

If one class action lawsuit wasn't enough for Chevy Chase Bank, they're potentially facing another one. Last summer, Chevy Chase Bank finally settled a 7 year lawsuit over the credit card business for $16.1M plus other damages. The lawsuit created an entire "society" against Chevy Chase Bank, made headline news and gave their reputation quite a hit.
Now, Chevy Chase Bank possibly faces another class-action lawsuit after a Wisconsin couple won a judgement stating that they were deceived over the terms of their mortgage and that Chevy Chase Bank violated the Truth In Lending Act (TILA). Not only did the judge rule in favor of the Wisconsin couple, the judge ordered Chevy Chase Bank to rescind the loan and certified the lawsuit as class-action. This opened the case to other borrowers who felt misled.
Unfortunately, a ruling earlier this year by an appeals court in Boston cast doubt on whether class-action lawsuits will be allowed in mortgage recission cases. The court said
The Chevy Volt concept car, a plug in hybrid electric car, was unveiled in New York in 2007.
An electric car only uses batteries to get the vehicle from point A to point B. A purely electric car can be desirable because it has no emissions, and can be charged overnight when energy is cheaper making it a lot more affordable to operate than a conventional car. The downside is that currently electric cars have a rather limited range, which may be fine for your daily commute, but unsuitable for longer trips.
As you probably know, an electric hybrid vehicle is a car that has both a gasoline engine and an electric motor. The electric motor is there to assist the conventional combustion engine. When it comes to slowing down, the electric motor in the hybrid car is used to recapture some of the energy back into the battery. Justin Hyde of the Detroit Free Press wrote an article reporting that A123 employees got to drive an early Chevy Volt prototype. The web rumor mill of course has expanded this into a highway driveable car.
Information from reliable sources indicate that yes indeed A123 employees did get to view the Volt firsthand, but they did not drive it, it was only driven by a GM handler.
As well, the car was the same concept car that gets shown at the Auto Shows, it is not a newer prototype, and does not have a Li-ion battery pack in it.
Lets face it, at the time of my interview with Bart Riley, cofounder and CTO of A123 one month ago, a working battery pack prototype did not even exist.
Sorry to disappoint the hopeful, but, I’m betting we do see a next generation prototype by year end. Also, purely speculative, but the Detroit Auto show in Jan. 2008 seems like it might be a nice place to show one.

As most of us have noticed, GM is undergoing a significant transformation. They are aware of the end of cheap oil and the problems of carbon dioxide emissions. Hence the E-Flex system and it’s first daughter, our beloved Volt. As I’ve mentioned, GM has already spent a lot of money bringing the Volt to life. Part of that has certainly been in the PR department. GM needs to compete with Toyota who is beginning to overtake them. They and we must not let that happen!
