There is no one in this world who does not know what has happened in India in the last 3 to four days. India's commercial capital was taken under siege by some extremists who think that killing people and destruction are the only ways to prove their point. This time they took Mumbai under siege and attacked the biggest landmarks in Mumbai, The Taj and The Oberoi. Many people were killed including

If David Bentley's transfer to the spuds goes through today for £17 million quid then Arsenal can expect to cash in thanks to the sell on clause in the player's contract. Well, a happy new year to all!So here I am, new year and all, in front of the computer.. Well, it's been a quiet celebration with my family, my dogs and cats, and Ralph on the phone..Okay, enough with the weird intro. It has been a pleasant 2007, well, at least for me. There were slight bumps along the way, but thankfully, they're not big boulders. I have the Lord to thank for that. Still, there are much to hope and pray for the the years to come.I would like to have a fresh start this new year's day. Letting go of the past is a very hard thing to do, especially for me. It's not just the events and the bitterness that have to be let go of, but also the bad habits, and all those kind of stuff. My resolutions list is something that I usually fish out of the junk drawer, years and years after
For those who are boycotting the Valentine’s day and celebrating all the crap of “Single Awareness Day”, have a happy S-A-D day yourself, folks. Really, I’m a single myself, but what’s the matter with not being sarcastic? Just enjoy the mood and join the game… Let me start today’s post with my take on a couple of world issues. Geez, what’s wrong with the Jakarta climate lately? (as if I’m unaware of the climate change already, haha). It rains for an hour, stops for another hour, then repeats the whole cycle for a myriad of times over the last few days. I think it’d be a hell lot better if the Mother Nature pours down the rain nonstop for 24 hours before halting for a really sunny weather on the next day (which would drown most Jakarta residents in East and Central Ja

Up to this point, I have been writing solely about my childs dairy allergy. The truth is food allergies come in all shapes and sizes. Celiac Disease is a severe allergy to gluten. This particular allergy wreaks havoc on the body of the gluten allergic person, if ingested. A close friend of mine, along with a visitor on this blog, suffer this allergy and I just want to give some recognition. When I learned that Damian was allergic to dairy, it was hard. There were many mistakes that I myself made, that caused my child much discomfort. Over time, through many mistakes and hours and hours of phone calls to companies, I have learned to cope with food allergies and it is no longer such a huge hassle. So when a close friend of mine came home from the allergist with the diagnosis of a gluten all

I am always impressed when I am in Ottawa during the winter at how on the ball (at least compared to Saskatchewan) they are with respect to snow removal.Last night almost a foot of snow fell here. By the time the first flakes hit the ground the trucks were out. The result is that by this morning it seems all the major routes are passable and by this evening even secondary routes seem to be in good shape. In Saskatoon it would take DAYS to dig out of that kind of mess - and I really don't understand why!Sent from my BlackBerry device on the Rogers Wireless Network
I wrote this piece for my pals at Caught Offside. It's a primer on this weekend's MLS Cup game and geared to a U.K./Continental football (not soccer) audience, which is why I'm not re-running it here (while Soccer Source has plenty of readers from all parts of the globe, its core audience are U.S. Major League Soccer fans who need no such introduction. We all know that Steve Nicol coaches the Revolution, for example). Speaking of MLS Cup, I will be at RFK reporting that game for AmericanSoccerNews.net. More on that to follow.
Earlier this week I read an article by a journalist who went under-cover to three different Liposuction UK area clinics to see if they would do surgery on her. The underlying factor to this article is that she was quite thin, with little body fat and really didn't need surgery. What she found wasn't surprising to me - 2 of the three (3) clinics told her they were not only willing to do surgery
By: Andrew WroblewskiI'm as patriotic as the next person, maybe even more so if the next person is the cashier at my local convenience store which still doesn't seem to employ REAL Americans; but I digress.Anyway, the rules for being a patriotic American were always a little bit fuzzy prior to 9/11, so I thank God (can I still thank Him in America?), that our President and his Attorney General took the time to put it all down in writing. What's really amazing is that they were able to encapsulate everything that it actually means to be an American patriot, and get it all written down and passed by Congress, only 6 weeks after the World Trade Center was blown all to hell by some decidedly un-Patriotic non-Americans. It took our founding fathers a hell of a lot longer to write the Constitution than it took Bush, Ashcroft and Haliburton, I mean Cheney, to "un write" it. But, there I go digressing again.Since we've become a "sound bite" society, let me save you the trouble of reading al

Since I enjoy side boob so much, I am going to go ahead and assume that you, my dedicated readers who share ALL the same common interests as me, would also enjoy this side boob. It’s Lindsay’s side boob, and I think she’s at The Grove, which is way exciting because I go there often and maybe one day I will see some Lohan side boob in person. If that happens, you can rest assured that I will tell you every detail about it and I will probably exaggerate the whole experience to make it more interesting than it really was. Until then, we will have to live vicariously through paparazzi pictures together.
The President was right to veto the SCHIP expansion recently passed by congress. To put it simply, all the grandstanding from lying Democrats and quisling Republicans that Bush is somehow denying health care to children is absurd. The facts about SCHIP simply do not support this notion.Under SCHIP, taxpayers pay for the health coverage of children in families of four earning as much as $72,000 per year. Democrats in Congress seek to open the program to families of four earning $83,000 per year or more. The President has made it clear that he is open to expanding the program, but not to cover well-off families before States enroll 95 percent of those lower-income children first. The foundation of SCHIP is utterly implausible in the first place. It assumes the efficient transfer of funds from taxpayers to the needy as their tax dollars go from their pockets to Washington and then back to state governments and ultimately back to the people who "need it." Like its uglier older sister, Medic

By Patrick Bohn, USA TODAY When the bands, cheerleaders and mascots drum up excitement for their schools’ sports teams this fall, their wide smiles and precision stunts may be masking something: Fanfare doesn’t come cheap. While sports teams may travel in style, Division I-A athletic departments at public schools spent anywhere from zero — at schools such as UCLA and Idaho — to $1.2 million at Tennessee and Texas on “spirit,” according to their 2005 and 2006 NCAA financial reports. more…

It seems the civilian espionage culture is on the heat with these latest shots of Dodge's upcoming muscle-car reincarnation, the Challenger. A member by the ID of "schuby87" over at Cheers and Gears posted up these cell-phone shots of a silver Challenger mule near the Chrysler tech center in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Unlike the previous mules snapped which were dark-red and black, this mule was silver and wore the same colossal 5-spoke wheels. This little story of amateur espionage evoked some juice as the engineers driving the Challenger were on the positive note when the photographer approached the mule. While the two cars were waiting at a traffic light, the photographer made some revs on his car and their cynical expressions quickly morphed into smiles. A classic story of amateur espionage turned into street battle against a million-dollar Challenger prototype quickly vanished as the engineers let off.Something we were able to catch was the absence of the B-pillar which would put a s
