Companies are also concerned because they feel as though they have a responsibility to make such “transitions” as easy and smooth as possible. It is never an easy decision to lay people off. A

Your headlines or opening phrases - For ads and mailings, your headline is the predominant phrase that should capture your prospect’s attention and get them to keep reading. In essence, it’s the ad for your ad. But headlines aren’t limited to ads and mailings. You can also think of them as what you say first to prospects when you call them. How you greet prospects when they enter your office. The first thing you say in your radio or tv ads. Prenatal checklist: Stock up on batteries
Since I have begun assembling the army of baby paraphernalia I have come to the realization that I will need 8,247 AA batteries to power everything.Bouncy seats, mobiles, monitors, anything that vibrates, blinks, plays music, makes noise when kicked or lights up will require AA batteries. Usually about 14 each. Some use C's, some use D's, but they're all energy thirsty.I strongly suggest stocking up on some batteries before the big day to make sure your fleet of baby and pregnancy-related items are powered and ready to roll, blink or buzz. I prefer to use rechargeables because they save money over time and are better for the environment. I've got a bunch of chargers going just to make sure we're all set.If you're looking to buys some, Amazon has the Sony Quick Battery Charger with 4 AA Ni-MH Rechargeable Batteries for $19.49, which I think is well worth the cost. Add another 4 batteries in there to make sure you always have enough on reserve, and you should be set for a while.

      eBay Business startup checklist
Preparation To the uninitiated, eBay can seem a bit complex and in order to get the best out of the marketplace for your business it is important to understand how eBay works and gain some experience selling products.  I have seen several businesses give up selling on eBay as they did not put the time into preparing for their eBay sales.  Businesses should: Research the eBay marketplace to understand where the opportunities lie for your business Take time to understand how the eBay platform works Ease yourself into the world of eBay by selling a few trial items. eBay Account In order to sell on eBay, it is of course necessary to have an eBay account.  Although this is a fairly easy process, it still takes a few days as eBay sends a letter via snail mail to confirm your business address. As buyers generally don’t like buying from an account with zero feedback, it is a good idea to build up some feedback before trading.  This can be done by buying and selli

Camping Checklist - Making a List
By: Matthew HickLike with any other important trip, it is key to put together a list of things you will need to remember to prepare and take with you when you go camping in the wilderness. After all, the last thing that you want to happen is to go on a camping trip far, far away from your home, and realize that you forgot something gravely important - like food or your tent for shelter! If you want to be a smart camper, then be an organized camper. Make lists of what you need, and prepare these items accordingly.Section your list off to areas. Start with shelter and sleeping needs. You will need a tent, tarp for under the tent, stakes, poles, guy lines and a hammer. For sleeping, you will need a sleeping bag, sleeping pad, air mattresses or cots. An extra comforter would be a good idea for cool nights. Next on the checklist would be cooking. Depending on how you plan to cook, you would need a grill, camp stove or Dutch oven. Don't forget the charcoal, matches and coolers. You will als

Checklist before you buy an 802.11n wireless
1 - MIMO One of the big advantages of 802.11n is MIMO.MIMO is short for Multiple Input / Multiple Output. MIMO breaks the data transmission down to multiple parts that are sent separately to the client, where they are reassembled. One of the requirements for this then is multiple antennas to send and receive the data. This system has the advantage of extending the range of wireless, along with increasing the capacity that can be carried by the signal. MIMO is implemented in almost all Draft N and Pre N specs. The use of MIMO in these devices has, for the most part, greatly extended the range of these devices. Unfortunately, there are still debates ongoing about the finalization of MIMO itself, as the 802.11n spec is not ratified yet. 2 - Standard not fully ratified IEEE has not fully ratified the standards for 802.11n. This means that the technical details of 802.11n have not been decided upon. The original draft for 802.11n was voted on earlier this year and soundly rejected, rece

A Post Heart Attack Checklist! Do Doctors Take The Time?
On my soapbox again. I have commented frequently on what I consider to be a shortcoming with the majority of doctors, their lack of attempt to educate their patients on their condition and how to pro actively take care of themselves. Some of the most poignant examples were a client who was not told to quit smoking after a heart attack and another who was not told that weighing 290#’s at 5′10 was an issue after being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. What are these doctors thinking? These people don’t just need pills, they need advice. As patients we are left to demand that our doctors do their job, or blow them off as incompetent and self educate. I found an interesting article by a doctor who seems to share my feelings on the matter. It’s an in your MD face guide to what to do after a heart attack. I am considering following his lead and coming up with similar guides for a number of other health issues where doctors really seem to consistently drop the ball and s

      Nevada Fall Gardening Checklist
There are certain challenges when gardening in the Nevada climate, but don't despair; it doesn't mean you can't have a lush green lawn filled with vibrant annuals or spring bulbs. There are however, some maintenance and planting tips that need to be considered during the autumn months. Here is a handy checklist for those fall gardening to do's:Reseeding lawns - The hot summer temperatures can do a lot of damage to a lawn; late September is an ideal time for reseeding and repairing that damage. Make certain you don't purchase bargain varieties of lawn seed, such as Kentucky 31 or K31. Most people are disappointed with this grass due to its coarse texture.A year round green lawn can be obtained by over seeding it with perennial ryegrass versus annual ryegrass.Give your lawn one last feeding using a fertilizer containing potassium and cut back watering your lawn to once a week in the winter months.Colorful annuals - Believe it or not, autumn planting is the time to get the most color

F1 GP Essentials - Checklist what to pack when going to the race
If you are a veteran F1 race goer you do not need much advice here. But for the newbies, this is a checklist based on the experience from eight or nine races I have attended so far: 1) Race Ticket - you may get it at the venue, but better buy early and choose your seats - where you watch from makes big difference. Some ticket pouch with a lanyard comes handy, the danger of loosing the precious ticket is smaller and you do not have to digg inside your backpack or pockets all the time. 2) Hotel Reservation - may be a good idea as in most places all the hotels are full for the race weekends. Again, where you stay in relation to the track or to the nearest city center makes a big difference. Decide in advance, if you prefer to stay near the track and save yourself the travelling in the morning, or nearer to the closest city, and save yourself the travelling after the parties in the city. 3) Your favourite team or driver shirts, caps, flags or banners, whatever. 4) Photo camera - small digi

Laptop bag packing checklist By Marc Norris
In your rush to get out of the house or office, you may forget to pack everything you need in your laptop bag. As a quick checklist, be sure to bring along the following:1. Power cord/adapter Having your power cord and adapter is a must. You never know if an appointment will go longer than expected, you may have extra time to sit and work on your laptop, or the opportunity to charge the battery may just present itself. If you find yourself to be very forgetful, buy a second power cord and adapter and leave it in your bag – that way you cannot forget it.2. MouseEven though your laptop comes with a pointing device built in (either a touchpad, track point, or other device); sometimes you may require the precision of a regular mouse. Also, if you are working for an extended period of time, a mouse can reduce the amount of strain put on your hand. Usually, a USB mouse is probably the easiest to pack as most laptops have a free USB port that you can use. Should you decide to bring a wirele

      Web Hosting Checklist
Once you have decided what web hosting services you require, it is then time to make a list of certain web hosting features and options you must consider. Here are some of the most important aspects of web hosting;Disk space and bandwidthYou should have figured out how much data your website will generate, and also the amount of bandwidth you will need. The disk space is the amount of storage assigned to the account by the web hosting provider. Bandwidth is the amount of traffic that the provider allows to be transferred to and from the website. Websites that include a lot of graphics would require more hard drive storage than a predominantly text based site. The same would be the case when dealing with bandwidth. If your website is dynamic or uses databases, make sure to check if the web host has separate limitations on the size of databases. Also check how much your web host charges for extra hard drive space and bandwidth. If you envision that your site will continually grow, then a
