Chavez is a man who played a HUGE role in organizing migrant farm workers (mostly in California) in order to have a unified voice against the abusive practices of the farm owners, and served for many years as the President of the United Farm Workers (UFW). Chavez started just like so many others - as a son of farm workers who then became a farm worker himself. He began to get involved in community organizing and quickly saw the need to organize his fellow farm workers.

I saw this story on the Drudge Report which basically features Venezualan dictator Chavez saying that relations with the US and Venezuela would worsen should McCain win the presidency. I have to say this should be a ringing endorsement for McCain, Chavez is a socialist dictator who has recently been caught funding rebels and terrorists inside Columbia and other South American countries who want nothing more than to live in a peaceful CAPITALIST democracy. Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez said on Monday that $100 was a "just" price for a barrel of oil.Chavez said crude was a non-renewable energy source and it's price should reflect that. "Today the price of oil is at a just level, it is not high," he said on state television.The OPEC nation's leftist government has seen its oil income soar as prices for its crude have surged to around the $100 mark.
There is a bias against Chavez, an unnatural and unhealthy one, that pervades the political discourse in America. Even those who aren’t sympathetic to the man and his movement (if they allow themselves a moment of honesty) must admit that fact. Most of Chavez’ actions since becoming president have been overblown, with the press and legislators more inclined to demonize than to understand.
As for myself, I largely sympathize with his aims, if not always his methods. But the fact is, he too often makes it too easy for those who wish to paint him as a villain. Here is a short list of mis-steps, ones that, in my point of view, left him vulnerable to attacks from detractors without bringing sufficient political gain.
