Late yesterday we received a call from Ebony's therapist that has left me once again feeling totally defeated. The call was about how they are going to discontinue family therapy sessions and that we need to make long term decisions regarding Ebony. Basically this facility too is giving up and feels there is no solution to helping this child be non agressive. She continues to attack people do to false beliefs that they are talking about her or plotting against her. She also continues to destroy property in the facility. We have just spent the last three months chasing the wind as they tried to slowly wean her off of her medications only to find that we as her parents were right. She would get worse. Cable Cars. This is a shot I took during my cable car ride at Ocean Park in Hong Kong. I was going down to the lower portion of the park and the fastest way to get there is riding this cable car. I read that there is an ocean park built here in Manila near Quirino Grandstand if I'm not mistaken and is yet to open or has recently opened (I'm not really sure). The following is a completely true story I retold to the delight of hall mates earlier this term, I've meant to write it for a while but didn't get round to it for whatever reason. Day 4 of my Eastern Visayas trip was around Calbayog, known as the City of Waterfalls. So it's a shame if I didn't visit at least one. After going around the city's historic core, I proceeded to the terminal to take the jeep to Allen. The jump off point in Brgy. Tinaplacan is an hour away, halfway between downtown Calbayog and the port town of Allen in Northern Samar. Looking at the map, Calbayog is almost twice as big as Biliran Province!I ended up in Brgy. Bugtong, a few meters from Tinaplacan. The waterfall is in the territory of Bugtong but you need to pass through Tinaplacan. It's 3 kilometers from the road. And the locals suggested I hire a habal-habal so I have a guide to the falls which turned out to be a good idea since the path was very muddy. The motorbike actually slipped and we fell off on the way there. Luckily, I escaped with minor scratches.To get to the main falls, you had to walk on several cascades. There were some slippery parts so I had to take off my shoes. I

On their latest album Fiends the Georgia boys in Chasing Victory prove that they know how to dish out melodies as well as breakdowns. Fusing hard rock grooves with the sort of atmospheric hardcore that bands like Cave In perfected, Chasing Victory has made one hell of a record. It is dramatic and darkly cinematic without being over-the-top or turning into a parody of the genre (like all those eyeliner and vampire makeup wearing chumps). Fiends certainly proves that the band has progressed leaps and bounds past many of its screamo peers. By incorporating horns, dirty alterna-rock riffs, and soaring falsetto vocals, Chasing Victory shows enough creative vision to keep things interesting. As I was walking past the newsstands today I noticed all the gossip magazines with Angelina Jolie on the front cover and it reminded me of my trip to Santorini. A few years ago, my sister and I headed over to Santorini on a ferry from Athens as we had heard it was the most spectacular of the Greece’s islands. We had seen all the pictures of the white washed churches with the blue dome roofs and breathtaking views of the caldera and we wanted to experience it for ourselves. We left our hostel in Athens to head off to the ferry terminal and upon picking up our bags from the luggage room, bumped into two guys who were also heading to Santorini on the 10:00pm ferry. We were told it was best to get the night ferry as we could save on paying for a night’s accommodation (not that sleeping on a park bench on the deck was particularly comfortable). I don't know what it is about me that makes me want to be conservative when assigning disk space when creating a system partition - especially knowing how darned difficult it is to change it later.I previously talked about a terminal services machine with a 2GB system partition with 50MB free and now I'm constantly chasing disk space on a 64-bit DL380 with an 8GB partition (100MB free). Of course when I built the machine 8GB seemed a lot but looking at the configuration now it appears that the Windows folder alone takes up over 6GB distributed between a few folders (SysWow64, system32, SYSMSI, SoftwareDistribution, ServicePackFiles, Microsoft.Net, Installer, inf, assembly, and $hf_mig$).The ridiculous thing is that this particular server has 386GB unallocated disk space free!

The Jaunt will be leaving for Philadelphia later today to get a glimpse of mega superstar Barry Bonds at Citizens Bank Park. Our original thought was that we'd be in the vicinity of possibly witnessing his eventual passing of Hank Aaron's all-time career HR record. However, Barry has fallen off his somewhat torrid pace from early in the season. I noticed tonight (I have this bad habit of noticing stuff...sigh) that one of the most searched terms was sunken treasure. I assume this is in the wake of the greatest treasure find of all time. I stumbled on this site early this morning and thought it was worth a mention here. The site is about a group of kayakers who are planning to circumnavigate the islands of Puerto Rico, Culebra and Vieques in August 2007. They will be using sea kayaks for the trip and will be detail there adventure on their site. The rest of my trip to San Juan Capistrano was pretty pleasant as well. After the first day I simply drove around trying to find a beach to take pictures of the sunset over the Pacific Ocean. It was actually quite a daunting task as I kept getting stuck in fancy residential neighborhoods with beautiful views but high walls. Finally I found the public beach and had to run to the water to capture this series of shots. I was so focused on taking these pictures that twice the waves came up and soaked my sandals and the bottom 6 inches of my jeans. Thankfully, I took the casual dress instructions seriously and didn't have socks and shoes on.For food, I relied heavily on the free Wi-Fi at the hotel to find restaurants.
