Norwegian Majesty’s arrival into Charleston this weekend has been delayed by one day. The ship will now arrive Sunday, November 18, 2007 because of several factors. On her return to Charleston, Norwegian Majesty was called by the Bermuda Rescue Command Center to come to the aid of a person in a sailboat who needed immediate medical attention. The passenger is currently being treated on board the ship. Also on the return, high winds and heavy seas necessitated the ship to operate at a reduced speed. In addition, planned maintenance during the ship’s stay in Bermuda included the overhaul of a cylinder head on one of the main engines. Unfortunately, after departure, a seal on the new unit developed a minor leak and required remedial work to correct it. Even if the engine had not had this issue, the ship would not be able to go any faster than the speed she is presently doing because of the heavy seas and strong wind conditions.

The second half of our vacation was spent in beautiful Charleston, S.C. We stayed at my Dad's new house in Goose Creek, just outside of Charleston. We took an early morning flight and arrived in the city in the morning, so we decided to venture downtown around lunchtime. We ate at a seafood restaurant on Market Street. It was very good. Grace had grouper for the first time. And my dad had calamari for the first time. He didn't know that it was squid until after he had his first bite. Zane was in a shitty mood at the restaurant. It was hot, sticky and he was tired.We also went on a carriage tour of the Downtown area. It was pretty good. Zane didn't behave very well, which made taking photos rather difficult. We learned a lot of historical facts on the tour though.The best part of the day, probably because of the air conditioning inside the complex, was our trip to the South Carolina Aquarium. On Monday, June 18, 2007, Charleston, SC firefighters were battling a fire that destroyed the local Sofa Super Store. The fire broke out about 7pm in the warehouse, forcing officials to close off nearby roadways. The fire at the Charleston furniture store was still blazing six hours after the first call. A salesman from a nearby car dealership said he saw firefighters rescue four people from the building. The cause of the fire was not confirmed. View the original article for more details. On Monday, June 18, Charleston firefighters were called to the scene of a major blaze. A fire apparently started in the trash bin of a furniture store. The blaze quickly advanced inside the store. Firefighters went into the store to rescue four people. Unfortunately, nine firefighters were lost that night when the roof collapsed on them. This tragedy has touched all of us here in the US, especially in my city which has not lost a firefighter in the line of duty since 1965. These men gave their lives for the most noble profession- saving the lives of others. No other lives were lost in the tragedy other than those of the nine brave men. Angel Oak – Simply one of the most amazing trees in the world. It’s close to being the most amazing tree of the trip. I suppose it’s tied with the Red Woods. It’s just a different kind of amazing. Her original Project Runway gowns arrived a week before and my assistant and I almost shut our office down for fear that anyone would touch them! Once they arrived, the buzz was out that Laura was on her way! Would like your advice, manly man and I are planning a trip to Charleston, SC in June. I know only crazy people go there in June, but I figure it is hot in Florida then too (so it is either stay home and be hot or go some where new and be hot).We are interested in staying in the historical area, we will have a car, but don't want to do a lot of driving.So anyone been there, anyone live there?
