I love bananas! I could eat them everyday. Learning about all the different types of dessert bananas, the tastes between them, and since my other 4 bananas seem to be thriving in my yard I decided it was time to add 4 new ones. I only paid $10 a piece for these, 2 came from 1 vendor and 2 came from another vendor. These were all tagged at $15 each but that Sunday afternoon pass through produce some great deals and these were some of them. The first is a Burmese Blue Banana and she has a few pups shooting. Then the little skinny 1 is a Mysore BananaThen the Pysang Ceylon BananaFinally the Goldfinger Banana.Come Watch my Plants Grow

Its colour varies from very light to dark blue to violetish-blue, bluish-green, yellow, slightly reddish-orange, brown, nearly opaque black, colorless, pink, violet and the pinkish-orange padparadscha (lotus flower).Ceylon sapphires are part of the Corundum gem family and are second only to diamonds in hardness. This strength makes them an excellent choice of jewelry because of their durability. The sapphires mined in Sri Lanka are known for the unique color they produce. Because Ceylon sapphires occur naturally, the color of the stone varies.Often, sapphires used in jewelry are heat-treated or given chemical diffusion to enhance their color, these enhancements are permanent.Sapphire is the birthstone of SeptemberTreatments - Sapphires can be x-rayed to intensify their colour. Natural sapphires undergo heat and diffusion treatments in Thailand. With the first method, sapphires with latent chemical components for good color are "ripened" to a desirable col

Nine-tenths of the island of Sri Lanka is underlain by rocks of Precambrian age. The Precambrian crystalline rocks of Sri Lanka are divided into three major units: the Highland group, the Southwestern group, and the Vijayan Complex.1st Century AD: The historical chronicle of Sri Lanka, the Mahavamsa, records that gemstones were among the gifts of Sri Lanka's king, Devanampiyatissa, to Emperor Ashoka of India. Ruby is an aluminum oxide, a variety of corundum; it occurs in medium to dark tones of red and violet-red to brownish-red.Ruby is the most popular and highest priced colored stone of all time and its being used in King's crowns through out the history. The Burmese believed that "blazing red" stones could be found in a "bottomless" valley. Natives threw pieces of meat into the valley, hoping that some stones could then be recovered by killing the vultures. In the Royal Collection of England, you can view a gold ring set with a pale but nearly flawless ruby into which a portrait of Louis XII of France is carved. The most important factor in the value of a ruby is color. The top qualities are as red as you can imagine: a saturated pure spectral hue without any overtones of brown or blue. The word red is derived from the Latin word for ruby, rubier, which is derived from similar words in Persian, Hebrew, and Sanskrit. The intensity of color of a fine ruby is like a glowing coal, probably th

There are lots of different kinds of beverages here in Seoul. Coffee, instant coffee, tea, barley cola, etc. Now, whenever I'm feeling down and I need a pick me up, the choices I just mentioned pop into my mind. Lately, I've added another drink to that list. What is this drink you ask? It's another incredible product from the enormous Korean conglomerate Lotte, Ceylon Tea.There is a huge market in Korea for iced green tea. Most Koreans drink green tea as a healthy alternative to sugary carbonated sodas. However, I have yet to find sweetened green tea. The next best thing is Lotte's Ceylon tea. It tastes like lemon iced tea with just a right amount of sweetness. It's extremely refreshing and highly addicting. So addicting that we recently bought a case of 30 cans from Costco. If you like this tea, buying it at Costco is the most economical solution. Normally these cans sell for 650-700w (65-70 cents) at convenience stores. However, the price works out to 300w/can (30 cents) by buy
