The name Pentium M refers only to the actual processor, while the name Centrino refers to the combination of the Pentium M processor, 855 chipset, and the Intel PRO/2100 mini-PCI wireless network card. Laptops can be assembled using the Pentium M processor and 855 chipset, and with a non-Intel wireless card; however, according to Intel's marketing rules, the Centrino brand name or sticker can't be applied in such a case.
