A worldwide recall for all Model T manufactured and are still in existence was announced recently by Ford the producer of high quality Volvo vent visor. The said recall does not involve any safety issues but is part of the fun to celebrate the 2008 Model T Ford Centennial T Party which is to be held at the Wayne County Fairgrounds and Exposition Center in Richmond, Indiana. The event will last for a week running from July 21 to 26, 2008 and has a theme the “party of the century” for the “car of the century”. Around 15 million Model T cars were built between 1908 and 1927. centennial golf course
centennial golf course photo by Stacia Originally uploaded by Tokenhippygirl This last weekend, and Monday and Tuesday, I attended a conference in Southern Oregon. Medford, to be exact. The reason I went down on Saturday, instead of the usual Sunday evening President’s reception kick off bash, was because I golfed in the annual tournament. This picture was taken, by my compadre, Stacia, while we were out on the course. Her phone takes great pictures. We did well, if you compare us to our last years and the year before’s scores. If you compare us to the rest of the teams, we came in… last. No worries though, we always do. I’m never upset about this. I mean really, I’m not even a real golfer. I probably golf two or three times a year, including this tournament. Stacia carried the team this year, and thank goodness for her. She amassed half of our needed drives. My best accomplishment? I out drove the guys, there were two, on our team. Yeah m

Cookout Hang-over: a UP Centennial Special
This year’s Cookout was the most well attended so far, inspite of the fact that it rained hard twice when the event was about to start and in the middle of the program. The event proved itself as a fitting launch for the UP Centennial celebration in UP Cebu. I was present during the event proper and some of the prior preparations as the “alalay” of my girlfriend Beryl who is presently a councilor of the UP Cebu Student Council (SC), the activity’s main presentor. I have to give the credit to the Cookout production team and over-all event director head Chassy Cortes for the best Cookout program ever. While Monster Radio DJ and former SC chair Paulo Walker played an important part in the successful promotion of the event. (more…)

      Frida Kahlo: Her Centennial Year!
"Esta Vida: Como yo lo Adore!"(This Life: How I Love It!)OAcrylic on 20" x 20" x 3/4 round canvas O Since this is the artist Frida Kahlo's Centennial Year, I decided to paint some 'special' paintings in honor of that. Since my smaller canvas supply no longer exists, I decided to use what I have in stock. This is the first painting done on a funky, round canvas that's pretty decent in size. I love the way the colors came out, both vivid and muted. I think Frida jumps out perfectly against the muted background! Normally I have quite a time painting hands, I always have. I decided this one needed a hand, so, I took a deep breath (really!) and gave it a shot. After I was done with the hand, it looked naked, so I added two rings - much better! It's not a perfect hand, but, I'm happy with it. Actually, I'm happy with the entire thing! I've decided to paint 'special' Frida's this year and since the month of July is her birth month, I'm going to sign these paintings (only done in
