      British ASA Censors Religion
And so it begins.  Religion experiences a very real taste of discrimination today as the stories of censorship in Great Britain are passed along the wire. BELFAST, December 9, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The British Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has issued a decree banning an advertising campaign by a Presbyterian church entitled "The Word of God against Sodomy," which communicates th

Back on August 28th, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin granted a 30-minute interview to CNN where the domestically popular Putin was asked very tough and direct questions from CNN’s Matthew Chance. J.M. Coetzee and his censors
J.M. Coetzee cuts a surprisingly dashing figure in person. Speaking last week at the University of East Anglia, as part of UEA’s New Writing Worlds season, Coetzee took to the stage with a loose walk, even a subtle swagger, in a perfectly pressed suit. He spoke on censorship, and then gave readings from two of his early novels, In the Heart of the Country (1977) and Waiting for the Barbarians (1

The first nomination for Censor of the Week, is Censorship Powerhouse Google, which continues to partner with the thugs in Communist China, even as protesters in nearby San Francisco are looking to snuff out the Olympic torch, which has been whisked to an undisclosed location, which is presumably not Dick Cheney's basement.Google is now censoring some Christian types who would like to post the following advert with adsense:"UK abortion law - news and views on abortion from the Christian Institute. www.christian.org.uk.” But Google said nyet—they will accept no advertising which discusses abortion in the context of religion. YouTube, Fitna: Hotbed of Terrorist "How-to" Videos Censors Geert Wilder's 'What the West Needs to Know'
[CORRECTION: YouTube pulled the video called “Islam: What the West Needs to Know”. OOps! Early morning and all that! But the principle still stands.]YouTube, the Internet video channel that is famous for providing "how-to" videos for the aspiring terrorist on everything from making explosives to using radio-controlled cars to detonate bombs by remote control, has sometimes taken days to remove such material. However, the Google-owned website wasted no such time in removing the video for Geert Wilder's film, "Islam: What the West Needs to Know".That's quite alright with us. It's provided an urgent agenda for the day: finding the video and providing it outside the boundaries of YouTube. In the meantime, we have a video trailer for the movie, which YouTube either overlooked or deigned "acce

      Canadaka.net Censors 9/11 Truth
Canada certainly does Kick Ass, but this website does not. After being a member of this website and contributor to their forums for many months with over 300 posts (let alone thousands of page loads and ad impressions), my account was no longer active on Canadaka.net last night for no apparent reason at all. I go no warnings and no messages about my behaviour or discussions were sent to me, but out of nowhere an (automatic so it seems) email was sent to me stating that my account was disabled. Now, one would think that perhaps I was a bad boy or that I broke some forum rules apon reading this at first, but when I revisited the site, I noticed something quite peculiar; all the threads that I had posted on were no longer able to be found. None of them. What's interesting about this is that 99% of my posts were dealing with all aspects of 9/11 (The Truth of course) and while most people didn't agree with me, there were people who did want to discuss this issue. The nearly 90 pages o

      MSN Censors your Instant Messages
I found an article about this on digg and frankly, I’m very surprised. It turns out that Microsoft censors all instant messages that go through their network. This is done server-side and it doesn’t matter what IM client you use, whether it is MSN Messenger, Trillian, GAIM, Pidgin etc. What’s being censored? If your message meets any of the following criteria, the entire message will not be sent and you don’t even get a message telling you it’s been blocked. Try it out for yourself! If it contains “download.php” If any part of your message contains the string “download.php”, the message will be blocked. This is probably because download.php pages can be attributed to automatic spyware and malware installation. This is stupid because the file can simply be renamed to something else, this “solution” probably creates more problems than it solves. If it contains “gallery.php” Similar to download.php rules bu

'Citizen journalism' battles the Chinese censors -...
'Citizen journalism' battles the Chinese censors - BreitbartExcerpt:"In the strictly controlled media world of communist China, "citizen journalism" is beating a way through censorship, breaking taboos and offering a pressure valve for social tensions. In one striking example this month, the Internet was largely responsible for breaking open a slave scandal in two Chinese provinces that some local authorities had been complicit in.A letter posted on the Internet by 400 parents of children working as slaves in brickyards was the trigger for the national press to finally report on the scandal that some rights groups say had been going on for years."http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=070625034359.p7nae5re&show_article=1

      Flickr Censors Stolen Photographs
I will do my best to suppress the rage that I feel at the moment toward Flickr and the schmucks who stole Rebekka Guðleifsdóttir’s photos, but I make no promises. I have never really been a fan of Flickr. That is not to say that I didn’t like the website. The whole thing never really clicked with me. I was indifferent to the idea, nothing more, nothing less. After the stunt they have pulled my feelings are now drastically one sided. It seems that Flickr has joined the ranks of Getty and Corbis in their complete and total disregard for the rights of the photographer.
