Die Tradition konnte fortgesetzt werden. Das AxCMS.net 8 wurde erneut mit dem "Innovationspreis 2008" der Innitiative Mittelstand ausgezeichnet, in diesem Jahr in der Kategorie "Content Management". This year on the CeBit the large slogan was green IT. Everything was better than the last time. Maybe not faster but much better for the environment. The power consumption from the CPU, GPU and other chips was reduced. But not only big Companies like AMD or Intel wrote the slogan we are so green on their banner, even smaller companies do it so.I think that is the first step to a new generation of computers and other electronic stuff and there is still a lot of to do to lower the wasting of energy. So the Green IT 2.0 will come soon.

MSI shows off bevy of new laptops at CeBITWe already knew the GX600 would be showing itself at CeBIT this year, but apparently, quite a few siblings made the trek to Germany as well -- including the aforementioned unit's 14.1-inch sister, the GX400. Moving on, we've got the 15.4-inch GX620 and 17-inch GX720, and while the former looks to arrive in a wood, leather or carbon fiber finish, the latter supposedly arrives with a black lacquer coat and a built-in subwoofer (among other goodies). Bluebird shows off Pidion BM-350 at CeBITBluebird's one of those manufacturers we don't hear a heck of a lot from, but it warms our heart to hear that they're alive, well, and equipped with fresh wares that were demoed at CeBIT last week. The latest device in its Pidion series is the BM-350, looking a heck of a lot cleaner than the BM-500 we saw at last year's show and reasonably equipped with HSDPA, 1.3 megapixel primary and VGA secondary cams, Bluetooth, WiFi, microSD expansion, the all-too-typical QVGA touchscreen, integrated GPS and FM radio, and a healthy dose of Windows Mobile 6. Unfortunately, the rumored asking price of €500 (about $769) seems way too high for the spec sheet, so it looks Bluebird might just be doomed to anonymity for another year.(Via Engadget Mobile.)

german Falk displays F8 at CeBITFalk’s new addition to their F series, F8, was shown at CeBIT in Germany last week. This touch screen navigation device comes with a 4.3″ touch screen, Navigator 6 software which supports split screen views, and TMC traffic reports. It does provide a text-to-speech feature but we’re not sure which languages are supported. Falk F8 also provide lane guidance, making sure you’re not lost at highway interchanges and also a CityGuide feature that includes 42 major European cities such as Berlin, Paris, London, Wien, Zürich, and Madrid. I was just checking out stuff at the Zalman stall when I came across this sign - Don't click... FIRE! Curiosity got the better of the gamer in me, and I headed in that direction just to find this weird looking device in place of a mouse. There have been several mouse alternatives in the past but nothing came close to delivering in gaming the way a mouse does. Needless to say they all flopped.

For all the claustrophobic folks who can't use the Eee due to its size but would like to try to, perhaps the new Asus EeePC 900 launched at CeBIT this year would be a match. The Asus EeePC 900 widens the screen of the Eee to 8.9-inches. And without that thick, hideous screen margin, I must say, it's looking good. Aside from the larger screen, the Asus EeePC 900 also offers 12GB of storage which is a lot larger than the old Eee's, and a default 1GB memory. And yes, the Asus EeePC 900 will come preinstalled with Windows OS. It will first be available to select European countries for US$600, which is around twice the amount of the old Eee with basic specs. I surmise though, that this price tag will lower as time goes. At CeBit 08, Nvidia has launched its GeForce 9800GX2 dual-GPU card; supposedly the one card to beat them all... Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 shows AT&T graphic at CeBITAt this year's CeBIT in Germany, Sony Ericsson is showing its latest super-baby XPERIA X1. What struck us down is the AT&T's logo located at the center of menu. What could that possibly mean? Is Swedish-Japanese handset maker trying to indirectly pitch the U.S. based carrier through media? Meizu’s M8 cell phone will definitely invoke comparisons of it with the iPhone. You can’t blame people for doing that, since the form factor itself is eerily similar to that of Apple’s high flying handset. Auch im nächsten Jahr ist Axinom auf der CeBIT vom 4.-9.3.2008 als Aussteller vertreten. Da wir in diesem Jahr recht erfolgreich mit einem eigenen Stand in der Halle 3, Standnummer E08, vertreten waren, haben wir uns für den gleichen Stand erneut entschieden, gebucht und nun ist es fest: wir fahren wieder nach Hannover! ;-)    Traditionell ist die CeBIT seit 2003 der Erscheinungstermin für das nächste Major Release des AxCMS.net, so auch im nächsten Jahr. Die Version 8.0 kündigt sich an und bringt einige Neuigkeiten mit sich. Technologisch stehen natürlich das .NET Framework 3.5 (und all die netten Teile und Erweiterungen...), Visual Studio 2008, SQL Server 2008 und der Windows Server 2008 vor der Tür. Eine ganze Menge. Konzeptionell ist es aber im nächsten Jahr wesentlich interessanter - die Architektur ändert sich, was wir in diesem mit SaaS-Ansatz angefangen haben, bringen wir mit S+S im nächsten Jahr erfolgreich zum Abschluß. The new Samsung WEP 500 prides itself on an innovative design of round shapes and easy-to-use features. 

CeBIT 2007: Mustek Shows OFF Their PMP638 CeBIT 2007 has arrived and it brings a couple new DAP's with it. This one comes from Mustek and is called the PMP638. Upon first glance I thought it was just a rebradnded Meizu M6 but this player builds on the formers design and adds a 2MP camera to it. We don't have a full list of features but it will have 1GB of memory, video playback with AV-Out, and an SD expansion slot. It's slated for an April release and will cost 200 Euros.

TomTom has launched a new satnav device at CeBIT 2007 that features a built-in mobile phone sim slot so users can phone directly from the device.TomTom is claiming that the TomTom GO 715 is the world’s first portable navigation device with an integrated GPRS modem and SIM card, clearly forgetting the plethora of mobile phones that are already available with GPS built-in. The company is also offering subsciption for the device to its Work package which includes TomTom WEBFLEET; a web-based tracking and tracing service that monitors and guides vehicles and staff, as well as managing and planning business. Hitachi-LG lanza la primera unidad Blu-Ray/HD DVD con el modeloGGW-H10N DVD. Con el apodo de “Super Multi Blue” es una combinación de Blu-Ray interno y HD-DVD, todo en uno. While an article in a German newspaper indicates that Apple will showcase the iPhone at a special part of CeBIT tech industry expo and tradeshow, this is not the case according to an Apple representative. According to the original report Apple was to showcase the iPhone along with its other products at lifestyle@CeBIT show. However according to an Apple spokesperson it won’t be happening.
