My brother Mark and I headed up to the Giant’s Causeway on Saturday to take some photos. Between us we took close to 500 photos. I’ve just finished sorting through them. Click on the photo above for a small selection.
We stopped in to the Bushmills Inn on the way home and had a great feed.

Here are some pics taken in Causeway Bay (one of the busiest areas in Hong Kong, famous for shopping and restaurants). It’s always a pleasure to slowly walk in the crowded streets, under the lights, and have a look at small shops in old buildings surrounding huge and neat skyscrapers.

From Wikipedia, Causeway Bay is "one of Hong Kong's major shopping districts. It includes the 13-storey Japanese department store Sogo and Times Square, an indoor shopping complex. There are also smaller malls such as World Trade Centre, Windsor House, Hang Lung Centre, Fashion Island, Fashion Walk, Lee Gardens and Lee Gardens Two. Causeway Bay is one of the most crowded areas in Hong Kong since it contains many trendy shops carrying both locally made fashion and products from Japan, Europe and the United States."I went there with an attempt to find out what else can that place be, apart from all the fashion outlets, commercial buildings and shopping malls or plazas. The first thing I noticed was the residential buildings in the area - and it had never occurred to me that buildings for resi

Yesterday night my friends and I went shopping and dinner at Causeway Bay. We met at Sogo and shopping for a while. And then we went to have dinner at our favourite "Little Fat Sheep" hotpot restaurant. We reserved the table at 9pm which there will be HALF PRICE afterwards :) Four of us ordered 3 different dishes of sheep and some vegetables. The soup base was excellent and the sheep was fresh.

I remember when I first saw those rocks, it appeared on the cover of the Led Zeppelin album “Houses of the Holy“. I can’t believe such hexagonal shaped rocks could exist in this world. The Giant’s Causeway is the results of volcanic eruption formed 60 million years ago. Today you can see approximately 40,000 columns of basalt rocks on this land. It’s one of the fourth greatest natural wonders in the United Kingdom. The Causeway become widely known as the ‘Eighth Wonder of the World’ in the 1700s when large numbers of visitors came to view this amazing array of basalt columns. The Causeway came into public ownership in 1963 when it was bought by the National Trust.

“Long ago, an Irish giant named Finn MacCool roamed the north coast, where he could look across the narrow sea of Moyle to Scotland. A Scottish giant, Benandonner, was Finn’s greatest rival, challenging his strength and reputation.

The Chinese, as a culture, love to rank, number and list things at least as much as a bunch of American sports fans or music geeks. Hence, one doesn’t merely visit a famed attraction and see it, as it were, for oneself; rather one follows in the footsteps of millions who went before, and one [...]
