Casino Royale proves that.Ian Fleming's first venture into the life of James Bond is, to say the very least, a fascinating read that, when compared to the modern-day amped-up film version featuring the scrumptious Daniel Craig and an Aston Martin with a V12 engine, allows the classic elements of Fleming's timeless series to come back.Not that there's anything wrong with Daniel Craig. Or an Aston Martin. Or Daniel Craig in an Aston Martin.However, there is no pleasure like falling deep into Fleming's brilliantly constructed detailing and scenery, absorbing the full meaning of Bond's settings and actions. I finally got around to seeing the recent installment of 007 starring none other than Daniel Craig as James Bond. The action was awesome, the storyline kept my interest, along with the beautiful cast. I am usually not a big fan of the Bond Series, but this was a great movie! And did you know that Mr Craig is the only 'blonde' actor to have played Mr Bond!Rating 8.5/10
I went to see Casino Royale and I was very disappointed with the 007 flick. I mean sure it's early in his career and all but they spent way too much time playing cards. The plot itself was confusing because of all the twists and turns. And the whole James Bond torture session was a bit ludicrous.

Hell! Over two hundred and fifty thousand copies of Casino Royale were downloaded from the internet till now! This is the major setback for Casino royale which has bagged the number one position in the UK with profits of over $80 million. I believe this is the major problem which the entertainment industry is facing with losses running in billions of dollars. According to news reports, the first bootlegged copy came from Russia, then Italy. But the quality of the video and audio was not good. It seems that somebody recorded the entire movie on a camcorder. I have heard that such copies are called as "CamRips".
A damaged First edition of Ian Fleming's novel Casino Royale was put up for auction at Bloomsbury Auctions, and was expected to fetch £8,000 to £10,000. However, the copy didn't manage to reach its undisclosed reserve price so went unsold.
Other 007 memorabilia that did sell was a first edition of The Spy Who Loved Me, which pulled £1,200.

Today I made an attempt to catch a matinee of Casino Royale so as to avoid all those teenage idiots who laugh when a woman is being given CPR. Just my luck of course that it seemed like every damned kid who hasn’t yet grown their big boy hair felt obliged to skip school and show up at the same screening as me. Luckily those peabrains could’nt stop this movie.
For all of you neysayers out there get ready to swallow your hatred for Daniel Craig. This man is Bond. I don’t mean Sean Connery’s Bond, or Pierce Brosnan’s Bond but the none other than the Bond of Ian Fleming’s book. It’s ironic that Casino Royale is a journey back to Bond’s roots with relaunch of the iconic because it reminds me of all the things that Batman Begins did right. First off they took Bond to a much darker place and I’d say it’s back to the good old bloody days with Connery.

Daniel Craig's first Bond film - and possibly one of the franchise's best. Craig is a much harder, colder, more macho Bond than Brosnan, with no campness. Someone said perceptively about this film that it's what Bond would be like if it was real. The baddies in this one are small terrorist groups and the men who finance them. Bond has just been made a double-O agent. In the opening black and white sequence we see his first kill. For once his turn and shoot towards the camera for the opening credits actually means something. The stunts are grittier and more enthralling than usual, including Free Running (Parkours) specialists. I was impressed with the use of technology: the thought of Bond logging into MI6's secure database using M's username and password, the constant use of mobile phones, the tracking chip that is placed in Bond's forearm by his employers to keep track of him, and so on.
