Carroll County is the first place in Maryland to allow residents to have wind turbines in their yards. The towers can’t be any taller than 150 ft and must be away from the roads as far as they are tall. These are the things that lower utility bills and help the environment by generating their [...]
The Mansion is named for Charles Carroll of Carrollton, who was the last living and only Roman Catholic signer of the Declaration of Independence. Mr. Carroll spent the last 12 winters of his life at the Mansion. He welcomed many visitors who wanted to meet “the relic of the Revolution.”

It’s been a tough week, and I can’t bing myself to get up and dance tonight. Just want to kick back, have a glass of wine, enjoy the sunset and listen to a guy sing me some thoughtful tunes. Heath Street fits the bill perfectly. This particular song is fun because it has me thinking about Jim Carroll, who used to make me dance frenetically. I don’t know the relationship between Heath Street and Jim Carroll, so I have to make one up. Jim Carroll and I used to run around with the same sorta crowd and our memories had to be cleansed, and Jim did a wonderful cleansing for myself and many others with All The People That Died. “In the middle of the daylight I'm walking through the valley. In the middle of the daylight, coming around, I hear the good sound”I’ve created a (false?) scen
NEW YORK (AP) — Shares of Yamana Gold Inc. fell as Wall Street continued to digest the miner’s fourth-quarter results and growth plans.

I recently had the opportunity to speak with Brian Carroll, author of the B2B Lead Generation Blog and the popular book "Lead Generation for the Complex Sale", about the importance of a personalized touch in lead nurturing, the best ways to encourage a latent prospect to start an active buying cycle, and the ROI of thought leadership.
If I gave you the choice to either live in southern California or Atlanta, I'm guessing that you would choose the sunshine. Then if I told you that the California job was solid with nearly guaranteed success, and the Atlanta job was in shambles, then you would definitely take the former. Unless you're Pete Carroll, that is.
Because if you were Carroll, you would consider leaving USC to coach the
Ireland’s Adam Carroll, charging hard after finally solving problems with an ill-fitting seat, saw pole position snatched away from him in qualifying for A1GP’s China sprint race.
He will start third after being pipped by last-gasp laps by Germany’s Michael Ammermuller - excluded from the results of the previous race in Malaysia for ramming anything that moved - and championship-leading Neel Jani of Switzerland.
Team GBR’s Oliver Jarvis could only manage fifth in the sprint qualifying, but will be on the front row for the feature race after setting the second-fastest time behind Jani. Carroll was 13th after a mysterious loss of speed.
Yorkshireman Adam Khan, driving for Pakistan, will start 21st of 22 in the sprint but performed better in the feature qualifying, setting the 17th fastest time.
Carroll - still technically a rookie - had set the pace during Friday’s practice sessions and was also fastest in Q1 for the sprint.

The Carroll Shelby Children’s Foundation tipped its hat to the Ford Motor Company for raising more than $1.1 Million through the first three months of 2006. The funds benefit the charity devoted to children’s organ transplants and research started by legendary racer, car manufacturer and entrepreneur Carroll Shelby.
“I’m grateful to Ford Motor Company and Barrett-Jackson, as well as to the auction winner, for so generously helping the many children that desperately need medical assistance,” said Carroll Shelby. “When I think about the exciting Ford GT and the new Ford Shelby GT500 coming this summer, it’s clear that Ford has raised the bar on performance.”
On March 25, 2006 at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Palm Beach, Florida, a rare Ford GT Coupe, VIN # 00003, donated by Ford, was sold for $530,000. Dubbed “Quicksilver,” this early-run 2005 production Ford GT was used for Ford marketing events and auto show dis
Carroll Shelby, Bob Bondurant, Phil Remington and other racing heroes will headline the Shelby American Collection’s 11th annual celebration at its museum in Boulder on December 1, 2007. The annual holiday party honors the race history of Carroll Shelby, his legendary 1960s Shelby American Team and the automobiles they built. This year marks the 40th anniversary of their victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1967, as well as the team’s championship Trans Am team. The celebration will debut an original painting by automotive fine artist Bill Neale.
“We’ve planned the most ambitious gala in the museum’s history with a prestigious guest list and historic cars that will make the evening very special,” said Steven Volk, Shelby American Collection co-founder. “Carroll and our guests will enjoy a memorable party with highlights such as the unveiling of a Bill Neale painting that will be sold that evening to benefit our endowment fund.”

Shelby Automobiles, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Carroll Shelby International Inc., (CSBI.PK) and Rucker Performance unveiled a limited production Shelby motorcycle at the Cincinnati V-Twin Expo in Cincinnati, Ohio, on February 2, 2007. This incredible high performance American motorcycle, which rivals the power to weight ratio of the famed Shelby Cobra 427 S/C, was developed in partnership between the two companies and will be built by Rucker Performance, under license by Carroll Shelby Licensing, Inc. Shelby Automobiles Inc., manufactures high performance Shelby vehicles, including the new 2007 Ford Shelby GT, under the guidance of the legendary Carroll Shelby. Rucker Performance is a leading designer and manufacturer of custom American muscle production motorcycles.

A lengthy page-one story in the July 23rd issue of Automotive News sharply criticizes the “skimpy givings” by the Carroll Shelby Children’s Foundation. Shelby, a noted American racing driver and winner of France’s 24 Hours of Le Mans sports-car race in the 1950s, was alerted to the plight of children awaiting life-giving organs while he, himself, awaited a suitable heart for transplant. After receiving the heart in 1991 and its successful transplant, Shelby created the charity that bears his name. Its goal: Help pay medical expenses for families with children in need of organs and tissue transplants or plagued by acute cardiac disorders. The charity has benefited from Shelby’s 2006 business renewal with the Ford Motor Co., with which he created the hot-selling Cobras and Shelby Mustangs in the 1960s. Vehicles donated in recent years by Ford to the Shelby charity have generated nearly $2 million when auctioned. Though not accused of personally benefiting from the charity, the
Maiden race success for CarrollTold you so! Adam Carroll got his A1GP career off to a flying start in the Czech Republic at the weekend, nabbing a podium finish in the sprint race and carving his way from 18th on the grid to sixth in the feature. The team now lies seventh in the championship standings with 23 points, having scored in all four races of the season to date.Meanwhile the A1GP series organisers have signed a deal with Ferrari that will see the Italian manufacturer supply an F1-derived chassis and engine to the series for the 2009-10 season and beyond. The deal runs for six years and A1GP chairman Tony Teixeira also announced the formation of a second, lower-rung regional series to be called A2GP. It looks like the last doubts as to the potential longevity of the A1 concept have finally been dispelled.

Carroll: Stability at lastGood news at last for Portadown racer Adam Carroll - after several false starts in GP2, he's been confirmed at A1 Team Ireland for the rest of the season, giving him some much-needed stability that should allow him to put his head down and rack up some decent results. Ralph Firman ran well in the series' opening round at Zandvoort and Carroll should hopefully do even better. If he fulfills his promise, a proper full-time assault on GP2 in 2008 should be a real possibility.
ESPN's Chris Mortensen is the first national media figure to mention the name of USC coach Pete Carroll in connection with the San Diego Chargers job. The key is GM A.J. Smith, since Carroll wants full control over the football operation. If Smith goes, then the time could be right for Carroll to come back to the pro game without leaving Southern California.
In this regard, there are two factors

Carroll behind the wheelPortadown driver Adam Carroll completed a full day's testing in the A1 Team Ireland car at Silverstone today, setting the 4th fastest time of the day, only 0.183s behind pace setters South Africa. The team tests former driver Ralph Firman tomorrow, but if the decision is between the two, I really hope they go for Carroll. Firman has had his chance and was solid but uninspiring. Carroll has shone in his irregular GP2 appearances and would really benefit from the stability a full season of A1GP would bring.Elsewhere, the championship organisers have announced that all A1GP cars will run on a biofuel mixture this season, adding to the growing shift towards alternative fuel in all disciplines of motorsport.

Gavin Smith raced for Vauxhall in 2006Dublin touring car racer Gavin Smith will be back in the British championship for the last three races of the season in a privately-entered Team GR Asia SEAT. He joins fellow Dubliner Eoin Murray who races an Alfa 156 in the championship.Elsewhere, A1 Team Ireland will be testing 24-year-old driver Adam Carroll ahead of the forthcoming 2007-08 season of the 'World Cup of Motorsport.' The perenially underfunded Portadown man, who recently won a GP2 race, will test for the team at Snetterton, but his appointment is not certain at this stage as the team is also understood to be talking to former drivers Richard Lyons and Ralph Firman.
A1 Team Ireland’s on-track preparations for its third season in the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport commence today with Portadown’s Adam Carroll undertaking a rookie evaluation at Snetterton Circuit in Norfolk, England. The evaluation is planned to last two days, Team Ireland having used the 1.952 mile/3.123 kms circuit to evaluate rookie drivers in previous years. Carroll, 24, currently competes in GP2 for FMS International and has recently starred by winning the Sprint Race at the British Grand more…

Blues selector Bob Fulton suggested the Brisbane lock should have been sent off for his tackle that broke the nose of Origin debutant Brett White early in game I, while Bob McCarthy reckoned the veteran big hitter should have been "made to pay".

'Black Ops' Implicated in Jill Carroll Kidnapping by Fintan Dunne, BreakForNews.com12 January, 2006 14:00GMTThere are clear signs that the kidnapping of the still-missing American journalist, Jill Carroll was a political act closely tied to U.S. interests relating to the Sunni opposition in Iraq. The 28-year-old freelancer for The Christian Science Monitor was ambushed by gunmen in Baghdad last Saturday morning. Her Iraqi interpreter, who carried press ID was killed during the incident. No group has claimed responsibility. On the face of it just another of Iraq's many kidnappings. But when we examine the timing, location and events subsequent to the abduction, they point to collusion involving the U.S. --or worse still, an American-inspired 'Black Ops' gambit. The very day Jill Carroll was taken, President Jalal Talabani said that Iraq's political groups could form a coalition government within weeks. Forming a government including Sunnis is a key American goal because it could ro

Automotive News writes that Carroll Shelby's Children's Foundation-- set-up in 2002 after The Man's heart switch-- has doled-out less than one percent of its $2.9m stash. (The money is supposed to help children who need organ transplants.) The revelation is bound to embarrass FoMoCo, as The Glass House Gang have provided four new Shelby vehicles for Carrol's charity to raffle and auction. It could also reduce the Foundation's ability to raise funds, as donors learn that their money's destined for a charitable parking lot. Although there are no implications of financial impropriety, and the Foundation now promises to "professionalize," it is worth mentioning that the Texas legend hasn't donated a single dime to his own cause.
