Carlos Mencia (Ned) has a well documented history of stealing jokes from other comics. I never found him funny. I watched The Mind of Mencia a few times just to give him a chance and he came across more annoying than funny. Joe Rogan, who I also do not find to be funny, is probably the loudest person documenting Mencia’s joke stealing. There are others.
Stealing jokes isn’t the same thing as having a similar line of thought. Many comics will have similar jokes simply because of the topic or their line of thought. An example of this would be the Leno’s, Letterman’s, Conan’s, and Kimmel’s monologues. On any given night, you will have similar jokes. Stealing is directly lifting of a joke. Using the same words in the same or similar pattern. This is what Carlos Mencia does and what has been documented with side by side comparisons (YouTube is a great resource for this).

Joe Rogan calls out Carlos Mencia, aka Ned Holness for stealing jokes and not being Mexican.I'm not sure if Mencia/Holness is actually not of Mexican heritage. Some folks report seeing an updated version of his IMDB page since the Rogan call out, which now says he is half Mexican but said he was half German, half Honduran prior to the Rogan incident.If Mencia isn't part Mexican, he's using an ethnic disguise to pander to a certain audience. Ok, this may be more of a rant than a review, but whatthehell. It also is apparently very old news, but it's new to me, so bear with me. I considered whether or not to even write about this, but you know, the internet has stretched and shaped lives, and news, pretty consistently in the last few years.
