George Carlin's views on aging:
Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we're kids? If you're less than 10 years old, you're so excited about aging that you think in fractions.
'How old are you?' 'I'm four and a half!' You're never thirty-six and a half. You're four and a half, going on five! That's the key
You get into your teens, now they can't hold you

It's a rant blog, written by a guy from the UK that goes by the name of "Crock".And while he doesn't have very many posts yet, he is off to a great start. From ranting about stupid blog comments, to stupid Vista updates, to the increasing amount of bandwidth it takes to load your ISP's homepage, he does it with an amusing style t

Not to put down baseball or football, but one would have to admit the truth behind this comparison is spot on. I’m still chuckling.

Unless you hadn't heard by now, George Carlin died Sunday. I'm not going to go into his life story or how he was such a landmark figure for comedy or any of that other stuff almost every blog or news site gives you.

George Carlin was the beginning of counter-culture humor in the US. SNL (which he was the first host of), Kids in the Hall, The Simpsons, South Park, and Family Guy all owe him a debt of gratitude. As does our culture, his comedy made us uncomfortable, and in a society that is often far too comfortable with its norms, he made us question them. Unto his last he was questioning and criticizing, upon
My post last night was a bit of irreverent humor. But, that was nothing compared to the work of George Carlin, who died last night of heart failure. He was a favorite comedian of mine, his irreverent work didn't always make me agree with him, but it always made me laugh and think.

When I read that George Carlin had passed away this morning I was sad.
Why? Because he was a unique comic and I grew up sneaking listens to him when I wasn't supposed to.

My day started at 4:45 with my husbands alarm clock going off to get ready for work. As I laid there in bed I then heard him leave at the same time I heard my oldest daughter getting up for weight lifting class. I dozed a little bit, secure in the fact that my coffeemaker was programmed to come on at 5:45 and I had all my bases covered.

I just got back a few minutes ago. The show was down in Sacramento, a short drive from my home. I sat fairly close to the front, maybe 14-15 rows from the front (I was just happy to be on the ground floor; the place was packed, filling three floors). It isn’t everyday I get to see one of my heroes up close and in person.
The show was great, as I expected. He’s getting a bit angrier as he grows older, but he’s just as sharp and funny. My throat still hurts from laughing.
