Sleeping in Daytime Prevents Cardiovascular Diseases
Greek scientists have proved, that siesta protects from cardiovascular diseases. They have found, that 30 minutes of sleep during the daytime at least three times a week reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke by 37%. The positive effect of siesta is associated with the reduction of the stress hormones level as well as nervous tension after sleep in daytime. The assumption of the scientists is proved by the results of the large-scale study – the most significant risk reduction is found in working men, who suffer from chronic stress more often than others. Anyway siesta is also highly recommended for women to rest from daily stress. Besides, sleep has been a proved and a very effective stress managment technique for lots of women.

      Cholesterol and Cardiovascular Disease
The function of human’s heart is to pump the blood through the body’s circulatory system. The walls of the heart have their own blood vessels. There are two types of blood vessels: Arteries are the blood vessels that deliver the oxygen and nutrients (include cholesterol). Veins are the blood vessels that carry waste and carbon dioxide away. A healthy artery is the one which carries the blood containing oxygen and nutrients smoothly like a freeway. When one has too much cholesterol in their blood steam, the excess cholesterol will start to form a fatty deposit within the arteries wall. This fatty deposit is called Plague. If one does not lower their cholesterol level then this plague will still built up within the arteries wall. If this plaque still continue to build up then

      Gout and cardiovascular risk
When I think back to medical school, I can recall a professor mentioning that gout used to be called, "the disease of kings." The reason that it was described as such, is that some of the risk factors for gout include the consumption of too much alcohol and meat. Simply think of a king feasting on steak and imbibing on red wine. Though gout most commonly affects the large toe with symptoms including sharp pain, redness, swelling, and tenderness, it may also affect other joints including your foot, ankle, or knee. In addition, to the traditional concern over joint damage that may be caused by the deposition of uric acid crystals in your joints that causes the symptoms of gout, new research suggests that there may be additional consequences of gout. A very recent study published in the journal, Angiology, highlights the association between gout, uric acid, and peripheral artery disease (PAD). In particular, the study authors concluded that a self reported history of gout is associa

      Eating Garlic boosts cardiovascular health
TUESDAY October 16, 2007 (Foodconsumer.org) -- Eating garlic helps lower high blood pressure and protect against cardiovascular disease, according to a new study published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS). The study by researchers from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) showed the protective effect is determined by the amount of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) produced from garlic compounds when they interact with red blood cells in the body. The UAB researchers found the released H2S led to relaxation of blood vessels, lowering the blood pressure and in rats the resulting H2S caused up to 72 percent relaxation of arteries. For humans, the effective dose is two cloves a day. Early studies have showed that garlic provides protection against a myriad health conditions including diabetes and cancer. Improve Your Health With Cardiovascular Exercise
By Barry LovelaceSo, what is cardiovascular exercise, you ask? It is a term we often hear, but not everyone knows just what it means. Cardiovascular exercise is any type of exercise that increases the workload of the heart and lungs. The most common forms of cardio are walking, jogging and running. Another term for cardio exercise is aerobic exercise. So, why is it so important? There are many physical benefits to cardio exercise. They include reduced risk of heart disease, improved heart function, improved cholesterol levels and reduced risk of osteoporosis. Those are some pretty impressive benefits if you ask me. To get the benefits previously mentioned from your cardio workout, it is important for you to sustain your workout for at least 20 minutes with 30 being ideal and do 3 to 4 sessions a week.Obviously, it is also important for you to challenge yourself.
