Probabilmente non li conoscevate con questo nome, ma ci avrete avuto sicuramente a che fare.

Spammers have found a way around these capthcas using sex. Or at least the promise of seeing a hot woman stripping and getting naked.
They’ve created a game with the premises that you, as the user decipher capthcas and the more you decipher the more the images of the woman you see and each progressive image has her in ever increasing states of undress.
So, every time you decipher a capthca you get the gratification of a little more nudity and the warm fuzzy feeling that you’ve allowed spammers to place another comment on yet another blog or set up a free email account on a service such as Yahoo with which to send more spam to your inbox.

As it is known, the contact form in Joomla! can be used easily for automatic delivery of a spam (that is, instead of a e-mails database, it is quite enough to have a database of the sites created using Joomla!). To be protected from this, we’ll add CAPTCHA on contact form. Sotto all’immagine troverete anche il link diretto al vostro captcha, il link in formato html e anche il link in formato bbcode per i forum.
Se l’immagine generata dovesse risultare illegibile o comunque difficile da capire, vi basterà effettuare il refresh del browser per veder cambiare l’assetto e la posizione dei caratteri, fatelo finché non vi sembra più leggibile. Il servizio è gratuito e non necessita
A month after wreaking havoc on our service, Tom finally explains the reason for the captcha codes. Since CoolChaser automatically inserts layouts, we have to ask our users to enter these so-called captcha codes. This is required by MySpace and is meant to prevent evil phishers and spammers.

The presentation is by Luis von Ahn who is an assistant Professor at Carnegie Mellon University. Pre-interview he looks nervous and bit squirrely. Needless to say, he did an awesome job. We’ve just been made aware of problem that some of you are experiencing when trying to download a file from our site. The problem is that the CAPTCHA (image verification) isn’t showing up, and therefore you’re unable to enter it to download a file.
The quick solution is to simply register (it’s free, easy, blah blah) and then you won’t even have to see the image verification page. However, we’ve found the cause of the problem and it should be resolved shortly.
For those that are curious what happened: We recompiled PHP on our primary server yesterday in order to enable the ZZIP module. This allows us the server to open compressed files (KMZ, specifically) and pull out the coordinates for use in our network links (like this one). However, when we recompiled it we forgot to include GD’s FreeType support, which is used for creating those CAPTCHA images. Since I never see them, I didn’t realize it was broken until someone pointed it

I have added a plugin that forces you to enter in chracters in order to comment.
I tried to avoid this, but I have been getting hit by comment spam pretty hard lately so I am going to try this out.
