C-N-N has finally picked a lead single for their upcoming reunion album, titled Channel 10. Production was done by that mad scientist known as The Alchemist. The beat is hard and it’s a different sound for the group, real gritty. I think long time CNN fans will embrace this collaboration, because the [...]

This one is a classic, shout to Cipha Sounds for the find. If you followed hip-hop in the 90’s, this was the shit. This joint came during out during the height of the East-West rivalry. C-N-N channel 10 stepped up large, holding down New York nicely. This version didn’t make the final [...]

Jeff Breinholt’s excellent CTB article today, “The Value of Aggressive Enforcement,” is a strong reminder of the historically proven value of the multi-agency task force approach in targeting complex and difficult criminal organizations. This has been carried into the national security arena with the Joint Terrorism Task Forces and the various similar multi-agency efforts. The theory goes back to the Al Capone gangster days when the notorious mobster was taken down on those “mundane”...(read more)
My house is right in front of the Tallwood woodlands so it’s not uncommon for me to wake up to find possums, squirrels, and raccoons in my garage or upstairs where they come in through the attic. There’s also the rare occasion of snakes on the patio and in the trash cans. [...]
Jean Garland had always admired the stately home where she and her family now live. But she never knew that secrets dating back more than a half century could have been buried beneath it.
In May 2000, the Garlands bought the home, which sits on a bluff overlooking Three Mile Lake in Paw Paw. And in the years since, neighbors started telling them stories about how the house was a getaway and
Recently released memos written by the IRS investigators who brought down Al Capone are shedding new light on the way federal agents successfully ended the reign of the Chicago crime lord.
IRS investigators could prove Capone had money, but they couldn't prove where he was getting it from, said Jonathan Eig, a Chicago author who is writing a book about the investigation leading to Capone's
A lot of my friends have kids, so this year when they all wanted to go to Lynnhaven Mall to get their kids some pictures with Santa I felt a little left out. I really have no desire to ever have kids, nevertheless to take them to see some creepy old man who likes to have little kids sitting on his lap all the time. But since we were going anyways and I decided to take Capone for his first Christmas with Santa. I put on his little Santa slippers and took him to the mall where all the little kids were in line to take pictures and stuff, only I was standing there will a little pit bull who was growling and scaring all the kids away. Then I found out that Mr. Santa is allergic to dogs, so he refused to hold Capone on his lap and insisted that I duck into the picture to make sure that he didn’t bite his head off. They also made me sign a waiver so that I would be responsible if he attacked anyone.
Apparently Capone doesn’t like Santa either, because we couldn’t even g
Historic Photos of Chicago Crime: The Capone Era opens with a compelling look at Chicago's cityscape to include a broad range of cultural phenomena, from suffrage to jazz, essential to the contextualization of crime in the 1920s and 1930s.
The history then proceeds as its title suggests, to a riveting overview of crime in Chicago, chock-full of images documenting notorious gangsters and gruesome

“You’re not going to jail over a run-of-the-mill bankruptcy and a couple of tax mistakes,” Carlos says. “It’s not like you’re Al Capone.”“If you say so.”And though it’s nuts, we’re in desperate straits, we end up giggling. He’s still saying, “Do more meetings. Make more videos. Push the merchandise. And above all—have faith!” And we’re so disoriented, everything blends into its opposite. Love, hate, light, dark, are all the same. Disaster is amusing. Life and death are equally gruesome and sublime, and in any furious moment, so real, they’re surreal. Twice today when Carlos staggered in to moan, “This is awful, terrible, disastrous!” I sputtered and he snickered. And then we howled together over the next inevitable remark which we both made in fits of tears and laughter. “Hey, it’s not funny!”--From Diary of a Heretic, a nove

MTV are reporting that the Cage-inator will play the moblord in a prequel to Brian de Palma's The Untouchables. Â This sounds like good news, except that it's called The Untouchables: Capone Rising. That's a rubbish title really. May aswell call it The Untouchables: Drink Justice. Or Capone: Zero Hour. Our scepticism-ometer is off the charts!
The best children's book you have a chance to read this year, and yes, I know a new Harry Potter is coming out.Al Capone Does My Shirts by Gennifer Choldenko. Puffin Books, New York: 2004. 225 pages. ISBN 0-14-240370-9.Technically, it's not sf or fantasy, but I want you to read it anyway, and besides, you can't read that weird stuff all the time. I gotta get you some culture.Choldenko's novel is well developed yet short because Choldenko has an impressive way with words and an ability to evoke a lot of emotion with very few of them. It's not technically historical fiction in the traditional sense because all the characters and situations are fictional, but it is based on an historical reality: The guards at Alcatraz lived on the island with their families. That's such a great premise for a kid's book, it's amazing it took so long for someone to create one. It's 1935. The narrator of the story is twelve-year-old "Moose" Flanagan. His father has recently acquired a job as an
