Hey Washington-Having thoroughly researched the two candidates for Governor of the State of Washington. I've come to the conclusion that I can NOT in good faith cast a vote for either of them.I feel this so strongly, knowing that it's a close race, that I don't want to find myself the deciding vote approving either of these candidates.So... Since I can't go with either candidate it'd be completely

Bloggers are raising questions about Illinois Sen. Barack Obama's qualifications to be U.S. president, because of the secrecy over his birth certificate and the requirement presidents be "natural-born" U.S. citizens.Jim Geraghty cited the "unlikely" rumor that Obama was born not within the United States, but possibly in Kenya.
Texas Congressmen Silvestre Reyes, Gene Green, and Henry Cuellar are among over a dozen members of Congress who late this week sent a letter to other Democrats touting their support for Hillary Clinton, saying she is the strongest candidate to have at the top of the ticket this fall.
Here is the letter:
Dear Fellow Democrat,
We are writing to you because of our shared belief in our Party’s principles and our commitment to ensuring that we have the strongest possible nominee to lead our ticket against John McCain and the Republicans in November.
The decision about who to support to be our Party’s nominee is not one that any of us should take lightly. We haven’t. But, after giving this important decision a great deal of thought, we are convinced that Hillary Clinton has the vision, s

Yes, my friends, THIS is who I am voting for, in November. ---------------------------- Taken from NewsWithViews.Com: IF I WERE PRESIDENT By Pastor Chuck Baldwin May 2, 2008 Due to my frequent criticisms of President George W. Bush, I am often asked what I would do if I were President of these United States. This column will serve as an attempt to answer that question. If I were President, I would begin the process of safely extracting our troops from Iraq. In the first place, our troops are no longer fighting a war, they are an occupation force, which occupies a sovereign country. And this is being done without a Declaration of War. The Iraqi people resent our occupation as much as we would resent another nation stronger than ours invading and occupying America. If such

Have you visited Fred Thompson’s campaign website lately? Probably not, what with how he was the world’s lamest candidate and nobody voted for him and he won nothing and then he woke up and quit. That explains why his website is now blank, except for the word “Success.” [Fred ‘08]
Received Via Email OBAMAS REAL EXPERIENCE: HIS CANDIDACYBy DICK MORRIS & EILEEN MCGANNPublished on DickMorris.com on February 25, 2008.The best evidence of Obamas readiness to lead the nation is the ability with which he has run for president. After all, what is more difficult, complicated, or challenging than getting elected president? What other life experience better illustrates ones qualification to hold the office than a manifest skill in seeking it. For anyone who has ever been elected president, the race that sent them to the White House was the single most important event in their lives and dwarfs any other experience they might have had before running. As we have watched Obama surmount the hurdles that lay in his path, we cannot help but be impressed with his judgme

Last night, Stephen Colbert appeared on The Daily Show and announced he would be making a statement on whether or not he was considering running for president. Stephen chose to hold his announcement for a more prestigious show however, that aired about 15 minutes after Stephen dropped this first bombshell. Months upon months of buildup and speculation have created a fever pitch surrounding Stephen Colbert's possible candidacy. And on last night's Colbert Report, Stephen finally announced he was running for president of the United States. So far, Stephen has officially only said he will be campaigning in South Carolina, which certainly must mean Clinton and Obama are breathing sighs of relief. Stephen is running as a democrat and as a republican, further blurring the lines between indecisive parties. Man of the Year anyone? And yes, however any of this turns out, certainly has to be better than that stinker of a movie.I eagerly await the South Carolina primary, assuming Stephen a

I wasn’t intending on writing for a couple days because I’m on vacation, enjoying a beautiful week of weather and having fun on a lake, but a story about New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg CNN this afternoon prompted me to put together a column.
While a few bloggers and some polls have indicated a Bloomberg candidacy would hurt the GOP, there’s little way this could happen based on the mayor’s stances on key issues. His entry into the 2008 presidential campaign will help Republican candidates.

Just a few months ago, if you’d have asked me whether I thought presidential candidate Ron Paul (R-Texas) -- one of my heroes -- had a chance of a victory, I would have said "...not likely."Today, it seems the tables have undoubtedly turned in Dr. Paul’s favor. The fact that The New York Times has devoted this (quite complimentary) article to him is evidence enough of his campaign’s momentum, but, Dr. Paul -- one of the few physicians serving in Congress -- is also the second most-viewed candidate on YouTube (after Barack Obama), and the Republican with the most “friends” on MySpace.com.Online polls have also pegged Dr. Paul as the “winner” of the first debate among Republican presidential candidates. If you are interested in learning more about Dr. Paul’s political philosophies, check out this video of Dr. Paul being interviewed by Google executive Elliot Schrage.

McCain Fund-raising Lags, Restructures Campaign
With the 2008 presidential race in full swing, John McCain is finding it harder to keep up financially. The Republican Senator from Arizona’s campaign raised $13.6 million in the first quarter of 2007, but only $11.2 million in the last three months, resulting in a fundraising fall of nearly 18%.
This spells trouble for McCain, whose staff has had to eliminate jobs in an effort to save money. Some members of the staff have agreed to pay cuts in order to maintain their positions, while others have agreed to work for free until the campaign can get back up on its feet.
McCain is currently visiting Iraq, but plans to focus heavily on Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina upon his return, as they are the three early voting states that can act as an early barometer for deciding the nominees of both the Democrat and Republican parties.
While McCain is confident he will become the Republican nominee, the reality of the situation is that

SOUTHERN ARIZONA (SGT NEWS) - Texas Representative Ron Paul, one of Congress’ last remaining limited government and strict constitutional believers, plans on making his anticipated presidential run official Monday morning during an airing of C-SPAN’s “Washington Journal”, a call-in program.
The show will be on C-SPAN tomorrow morning, March 12, and runs from 7:30 am to 8:00 am. Don’t miss it!
The National Taxpayers Union consistently ranks Dr. Paul first in his class on issues of taxation. Paul refers to himself as “The Taxpayers’ Best Friend” and promises to lower taxes on the American people and eliminate some taxes, such as the estate, capital gains and inheritance taxes.

Four-term Senator, John McCain (R-Ariz), considered a staunch supporter for the Iraqi war, announced his candidacy on Letterman. But what was expected to be a defining moment saw McCain apologizing after he remarked "U.S. lives have been wasted in the four-year old conflict." He quickly retracted that statement, however, after the DNC demanded an apology. The senator, said he meant to say "sacrificed". Adding, "their sacrifices are never wasted". The questions being asked: How can McCain who now believes lives are being wasted support a troop surge? In February, Obama also described the lives of troops in Iraq as having been wasted, but later said he regretted that comment. As he staggers to recover ground, McCain quickly reasserted that the troops must remain in Iraq rather than withdrawing early. Seen to be switching roles? Is McCain out of step with his GOP base? Does his campaign seem to be collapsing, starting out with a whimper, instead of a bang? Is the senator, less
Senator Joe Biden (D-Delaware) officially announced his candidacy for President yesterday and about eight seconds later, he stuck his foot in his mouth in an interview with the New York Observer. Since then, I cannot get this guy off my television screen.
He was all over cable news yesterday. Even fake news! He was the scheduled guest on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart last night. Early this morning, I was flipping through the channels — network and cable news — and he was on every channel! This afternoon, he’s all over cable news again. And now, he’s the guest on Hardball with Chris Matthews.
After watching just about all of those in their entirety, and Biden speak of his state as the eighth largest black population in the nation …

North Carolina Senator John Edwards, the vice presidential nominee on the Democratic ticket in 2004, announced his candidacy for president in New Orleans.
In 2004, Edwards was the moderate southern senator who promoted middle class tax cuts and tried to position himself as the best general election alternative to President Bush.
This time the 53-year-old faces a tougher fight for the Democratic nomination and has a more progressive campaign of eliminating poverty, reducing global warming and providing universal health care for all Americans.
He’s apologizing for his vote to send troops to Iraq — which he stood by steadfastly in the 2004 campaign — and is calling for 40,000-50,000 troops to come home immediately.
Edwards becomes the third major Democrat to throw their hat into the race. Overall, he is the fourth but the candidacy of former Alaskan Senator Mike Gravel has been largely written off by the press.
The one-term senator is opposed to the “troop surge,” or
John McCain made it official last night that he was going to be a candidate for president in 2008. He was a guest on CBS’s “Late Show with David Letterman” on Wednesday night and said what had been pretty much obvious for months now, if not longer. "I am announcing that I will be a candidate for president of the United States," he told David Letterman. He plans to make his formal announcement in April. This has followed the pattern that most candidates have done this time around and that is to skip traditional announcement with banners, balloons, and supporters. This election cycle there has been many smaller announcements. Announcing they intend to run, then the exploratory committee announcement, statement of candidacy, and doing everything but officially saying they are running until they have used as much free media coverage as they can. This, I have to say, is a pretty smart idea to get free media but did anyone think McCain might actually not run? The
