Technically...the headline is correct. Check out Senator Obama's latest campaign ad. What would you guys call it? Regardless of your answer, it's a very shrewd use of Bill to support Obama. But it makes Mo'Kelly wonder, isn't there some sort of proprietary issue with using former President Clinton in any ad that hasn't been sanctioned by Clinton himself?Isn't there some sort of legal/copyright issue involved with using a political figure's photo/likeness in a campaign ad that he clearly didn't support? If there's a lawyer out there, please explain to Mo'Kelly how this works. It makes Mo'Kelly think that a member of Obama nation might have put this together on his/her own and it's not meant for actual broadcast, just a form of viral internet marketing (that Mo'Kelly is now spreading).

      Campaigns Leverage New Media
These days it appears that all CNN and similar news outlets cover are the presidential primaries. I fell asleep after the California results were announced and woke up to a political commentator talking about the state roughly six hours later. Political advertising is everywhere, except for digital signage - a medium that is ideal for reaching voters (I wrote a recent post on this topic). The candidates have found success in leveraging mobile marketing. It's targeting power and timeliness allows candidates to reach people who have opted into their SMS clubs before key events: debates, TV appearances, and, most importantly, state primaries.A January SMS advertising campaign for Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama delivered over one million SMS impressions acro

      Mobile Marketing for Political Campaigns
I wrote a recent post citing the success of the mobile marketing campaigns for Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. But, I must refer you to Greg Harris' blog over at Mobivity, in which he provides an in depth overview of the strengths and weaknesses of Obama and Clinton's mobile efforts. As a member of both SMS clubs, Greg delves into the timing, relevancy, and impact of each candidate's mobile marketing campaign. Ad Campaigns I Love...part II
I'm feeling a little under the weather today (it's bucketing down with rain over here, so in this case, pun not intended. Lol), so naturally I'm experiencing major writer's block (which will come in handy when making my excuse for not writing my pre-term biology essay as plausible as possible). Therefore I can't think of anything to write about why I love these ads. So here they are:GUESS?LanvinWheels & DollbabyWell, it's pretty obvious why GUESS? ads will always have a place in my heart, considering it's my favourite brand. But this year they recruited Australian model Jessica Hart (pictured top) as one of the few gorgeous faces of the brand. Aussie, Aussie, Aussie! Oi! Oi! Oi! Lol.fashionologie is coining this Olga Sherer (pictured middle) for Lanvin pairing the new Sasha P for Prada. Oh my, I hope so. What a fierce and powerful duo that was. I quite like this ad, the only thing I don't like is Olga's facial expression, it's a bit scary and alien-like (click the picture

For B2B campaigns SEO has a Advantage over PPC
Experts in Search Engine Optimisation dismissed PPC as far less likely to bring about results in a debate last night (11 December). The "B2B Marketing Debate" saw SEO exponents and Pay Per Click champions clash over effectiveness and results. The debate, at The English Speaking Union in London, saw head of search at Bigmouth Media Andrew Girdwood argue that organic results were often perceived as more directly relevant, with a lower overall cost. He said: "“People don’t want to put more money in. For B2B campaigns SEO has a definite advantage over PPC.”" Periscopex co-founder Simon Norris defended PPC as a marketing tool and said that its plus points were that it was easy to change, start, stop and completely transparent. He asserted that PPC was a better, more targeted way to gain l

Start Viral Marketing Campaigns Using E-books
Viral Marketing sounds like something bad but it is actually something very good. It is, also, a powerful way to generate traffic to your website.Think about how a virus spreads from on person to another. One person gets sick and just by sneezing they can give the virus to many more people… those people get sick and share their germs with everyone they know and the next thing anybody knows is that there is an epidemic. That is the very concept of viral marketing. The idea is to get everyone to spread your marketing message around because they want to. Now let's look at using an E-book to start your viral marketing campaign. First you create an E-book… a really good one that has links to your website, to your sales page and affiliate links to products and services that you recommend… and you give it to three people. In the book you encourage those three people to give it to their friends and family. Before you know it the E-book is spreading across the Internet like wild fire. Di

      Web Promotion Campaigns
In this post, I'll go through some of the common elements of an online promotion campaign for a typical small/medium business website. First off though, let's talk about the goals of a campaign:Increase search engine ranking (ex. PageRank in Google): some people view this as the end goal of a campaign, but in reality, it's the starting point. Because being number one on Google doesn't make you any money on its own.Increased website traffic: goal number one will help this, but there are other ways to increase traffic than just through search engines. Again though, visitors alone don't pay for your time, unless if you're selling your traffic (to advertisers of your own), but most small businesses don't fall into that category.Increase leads, inquiries, or sales. Here lies the true reason for starting a promotion campaign, to increase the number of people interesting in purchasing your goods and services. How do we go from 1 to 3? Let's start with the search engine rankings and som

Unflattering picture stash full for next season’s campaigns
Campaigns across America can breathe a sigh of relief. It has been reported that all of the quotas for ugly and unflattering pictures of opponents in upcoming campaigns have been filled.“We have more than enough ugly pictures to take us through the 2008 Presidential Election,” said a Republican consultant helping one of the Presidential candidates, “Hillary Clinton is a gold mine of nasty expressions, it’s almost like she can’t help herself.”Unflattering pictures are the staple of a hard hitting campaign flyers and commercials. Pictures of candidates doing mundane things tend to look much more sinister when they are presented in black and white or with ominous music in the background. Campaigns across Arizona are also reporting that their picture needs have been met.“You can never be too early with the ugly pictures,” explained on political insider, “I got this great one of Harry Mitchell with his eyes closed making a silly face. It will be solid for one of the Republ

      Ad Campaigns I Love...
I really could use a new perfume. Don't get me wrong, I love YSL Paris and my now signature Britney Spears Fantasy, but I'm one of those gals who needs variety. Coincidently both of these ad campaigns are for fragrances. Is it a sign? Well, Christmas is drawing ever closer...Givenchy -- Very IrresistibleDior -- Miss Dior CherieThey're both such beautiful ads...Liv looks so happy and bouncy in the Givenchy, and Lily looks so relaxed in the Dior. I first saw both of these on the backs on magazine covers, and have loved them ever since. What do you think? Why Book Campaigns Fail
By: Penny SansevieriIf your campaign isn't doing so well there might be a million reasons why. Everything from the book cover to the timing of the book release could affect sales. But there are a few other components that could affect sales and actually cause a campaign to fail that has the potential of being successful.Overextending too early: book campaigns are marathons, not sprints. This is an especially tough one for authors because they spend so much time writing the book, the last thing they want is to wait even longer for it to be successful. The real truth is, much of what you'll do in the first 90 days of a campaign is seed planting and sometimes it can take months for those seeds to germinate. The key to success is to pace yourself, but I'm not just talking about pacing your to do list. I'm also talking about pacing your budget. It's very tempting to blow your entire budget the first few weeks of a campaign. There are so many things you can do, and so much of it is enti

Mobile Campaigns – Profit vs. Promotion
As mobile marketing has started to come into its own over the past few years, companies have begun to realize the benefits both as a potential source of revenue as well as a promotional vehicle. For those who have been in the digital media industry for awhile, there are a lot of parallels between the beginning years of the Web vs. what we’re currently seeing with mobile. At the dawn of the Web age, a lot of the content we now get for free today was tried on a subscription model. This was mostly due to the fact that Web advertising was non-existent and companies were trying to make up at least some of the money they were spending on this new medium. Since the Web was still at its basic infancy and more importantly, content wasn’t readily available, such premium services were still viable. However, as the Web grew in popularity, it became more difficult to have people pay for services that they now considered to be part of the “free” Web. Now, subscription services (outside

Halo 3 Campaigns Complete: What hardness level did you do it in? what is your best level?
I have been playing Halo 3 on my Xbox 360 obviously when I can because of work commitments, but when I do get time I try and play it as much as I can. My cousin and I have been playing this game in campaign mode together online and must say have both been impressed by the graphics and game play. To tell you the truth I have been playing this game on normal mode which really I should have chosen the hardest level as the normal is pretty easy. My cousin and I are already on MISSION 09: HALO; the game is brilliant but in normal mode is pretty easy if you ask me. My favourite has to be Mission 07: The Covenant, just seems pretty cool when you fly the Hornet. A little bit disappointed that the game has nearly ended so quick but hey thank god for the multiplayer, I can play other people after. Will I be disappointed with the small maps in multiplayer mode thou, this is another question. I love the Xbox 360 but for the sake of exclusive games for each console may consider buying the Sony PS3
