Excerpts from a Camelot Press Release.
National Lottery operator Camelot is readying plans for a new World Lottery Draw involving some of the biggest and most established state and national lotteries from around the globe.
The World Lottery Draw is expected to involve scores of lotteries from around the globe, from the Americas in the west, to Australasia in the east – as well as a host of lotteries from across Europe.
The exact mechanism for the new draw has yet to be agreed by all the partners, but Camelot’s plans are for a monthly game creating a ‘shower of winners’ – up to 100 millionaires worldwide for every draw, building excitement and a sense of occasion.
Camelot is also proposing to develop the game mechanic so that the monthly draws build up into a much bigger multi-million pound once-a-year-prize, drawn at the time of a key holiday season or event, to help drive sales and greater returns to the Good Causes.
It is expected that the individual numbers will be drawn s
I grew up a Navy brat. That is, my father was a career man in the U.S. Navy. Air Traffic Controlman, to be specific. His tours of duty were 18 months at a time, and except for a couple of impractical overseas assignments (Vietnam, Iceland), the entire family went along for the ride. This resulted in a lot of road trips and even a handful of trans-ocean boat trips and cross-country airline flights.
It was the road trips that I enjoyed the most. We often got 2 weeks to travel, and my dad enjoyed spending as much of that time exploring the side roads. The best trip – in my opinion – was the road trip from NY to CA in the early 1960’s. Dad didn’t even grumble about the high cost of gas (30 cents a gallon), since the Navy paid. The bonus for us kids: we got off from school for 2 weeks.
We didn’t really “rough it,” for the most part. We hauled a rented Airstream Bambi, a 16-foot broom closet on wheels. It meant we had a tiny kitchen and even smaller bathro

I'm not really sure if anyone understands human relationships, or how they even can. I know that I don't, and I'd bet the farm that I never will. I'm pretty sure that it takes truly understanding the other person to have that sort of connection, and who even understands themselves that well? How is it even possible? It's getting to the point where I'm beginning to think that human social interactions are just too complex for our species' intelligence. I have never met any two humans that have a relationship that can be said to be easy that truly care for one another. That can't be said about dogs or rabbits or pigmy marmosets, can it? Do dolphins passive-aggressively torture one another? Do they get into fights for no reason? Do they play mind games with one another and obsess over every little thing until they go insane? No, they fight or play or ignore one another, or whatever else, but they don't really have so many problems. I'm not saying they aren't complex

Camelot Donates Christmas Party Fee to Farepak Appeal
Lottery operator pledges £30k from its cancelled Christmas party
National Lottery operator Camelot, today pledged to make a £30,000 donation to the Farepak appeal, after cancelling its Christmas celebrations.
The Christmas party for Camelot's 900 staff was due to take place in central London in December, but the lottery firm put a halt to it because of the unusual demands placed on the business as it prepares the final stages of its bid for the third lottery licence.
Camelot Chief Executive, Dianne Thompson, has instead pledged £30,000 that would have been spent on the party to help those affected by the collapse last month of savings and hamper company Farepak. Dianne said: “I am really pleased to be able to make this donation to help those who have been devastated by the demise of Farepak.”
