The National Finals Rodeo, organized by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, is the premier championship rodeo event in the United States. The NFR is held every year in the first full week of December, at the Thomas & Mack Center on the campus of the University of Nevada in Las Vegas, Nevada. It will definitely be an event worth waiting for as you imagine yourself sweating over the riders. There will be 8 champions waiting to be crown at the end of the NFR. The events are Bareback riding, Steer wrestling, Team roping, Saddle bronc riding, Tie-down roping, Bull riding, and Barrel racing (the only event exclusive to women). Why am I so excited about decorating a tween or teen girls bedroom using this horse bedding set? Do you really need to ask? Did you really look at the way the pillow was woven with the motif of a galloping horse in deep mink brown against the denim blue background? The design reminds me of an Indian blanket which gives me some decorating ideas for the window treatments if I could just find a saddle blanket in blue that I didn't mind cutting up to make a window valance. Don't you adore the paisley (?) design on the bedskirt? All of the other sets of horse bedding for young girls that I've found on sale recently were kind of similar. This set has one of the most unique color schemes and pattern that I've seen lately! Drag out the boots and the cowboy hats we're going to use them as teenage decorative accessories! Unwanted Pests: Cowboys fans attending practice at the Alamodome have had plenty of opportunities to cheer, but Sunday they got their chance to boo, as a flock of Eagles fans infiltrated the workout.The brazen fans, bedecked in Brian Westbrook and Donovan McNabb jerseys, loudly spelled Philadelphia's trademark E-A-G-L-E-S chant, causing many of the Cowboys fans to respond with chants of their own."That's suicide, I think," Bradie James said. It's been a hectic month in the development of Crabcorner neighborly relations. As you all know from my previous post, a friendship was forged at Wendy's. Now we are ready to take things a step further.Aaron the neighborly cowboy and goat-wrangler is taking us to the rodeo as his personal guests.We will even get to go backstage. We were in Orlando this past weekend celebrating our engagement and were looking for some good Mediterranean food. There is every kind of restaurant imaginable in Orlando, but what we experienced at Ali Baba’s was more than we could have dreamed up.

Author Tom Robbins has published eight novels. I had never read him before this summer when Jitterbug Perfume caught my eye at B&N. Since that mystical experience I have devoured seven of the novels in random order and am now reading Even Cowgirls Get the Blues. I find much of what he writes about life to be inspiring, "word of God" if you will (but you probably won't).Here is an interview with Robbins from 2000 in the Seattle Weekly.Thanks to Robbins I now know why I love UFO stories so much. On page 49-50 of Even Cowgirls Get the Blues he explains UFO encounters. To paraphrase: say you are alone, out on a beer run, and you spot a "whirling disc" with lights, darting right and left.
