      Burying Your Company's Stock
The reason that you must bury your public company's shares is to reduce your company's float. The lower your public company's float, the lower your investor relations cost. [See my article The Proper Use of Shares.] The buried shares are deducted from your float and the balance is called the effective float. Your goal is to reduce the effective float to as near zero as possible. If your effective

      Burying Ourselves In Debt
Once inspired by Vice President Nixon’s celebration of everyday Americans’s affluence during his 1959 “kitchen debate” with Nikita Khrushchev, Chrystia Freeland wonders in the Financial Times if Americans’ indebtedness portends a new era of everyday frugality.

Romney's Big Dig - Burying His Past
When Mitt Romney took over the Big Dig (a giant tunnel project to re-rout Interstate 93 underneath Boston) he said that the construction and engineering firm Bechtel/Parsons/Brinckerhoff "isn't real credible on safety." Then a section of the project fell and killed a woman, and Romney responded by giving the firm an $8 million extension. That was before Romney called the project a "tar baby."Remember, Romney is the same guy who strapped his family dog to the roof of his car and drove 12 hours to Canada. What an asshole.read more | digg story

Burying Negative News Stories & Posts
This actually came up twice in the past 24 hours at New Media Nouveaux and again online via an internal friend’s post at Pownce. Personally, trying to bury the news or negative posts by following up with a flurry of “good” news , posts or other BS is a mistake. Online brand management doesn’t really work like that. In the words of my more technical friend Technosailor, “Burying stories ignores the concept of metadata and that info on the net never goes away.” Further, even if you get away with it, the past will eventually catch up with you. Burying news is dirty, and once a community figures out a co/person is dirty, it’s over (think Halliburton). Instead of burying news, companies and individuals should address issues very publicly and make amends. Online management is about transparency and honesty, including making mistakes and listening to the feedback, and then addressing those mistakes. Then use good news to rebuild trust. People underes

      One Dying And A Burying
Monday we celebrated Memorial Day. We set aside a day to honor those who have died for our freedoms and rightly so. Jesus said, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13). And, that is exactly what so many men and women have done for us over the course of United States History. People from all walks of life have stood side by side and fought enemy after enemy to keep this country free and to allow us to enjoy the freedoms that we have. Yet, while many have died for our freedom it was the death of one that set us free. The apostle Paul wrote, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). While we were entrapped by the axis powers of sin Jesus Christ went to battle for us and laid down his life. His life was sacrificed so that we would be able to be free from the sin that had us in its evil clutches. While his sacrificial death was a price paid for our sins, His res
