Criterion Games has unveiled three new modes for Burnout Paradise. The new game modes will be released as part of the Cagney update. Online Stunt Run allows 8 players to simultaneously compete for the highest score within 2 minutes. The mode features an on-screen display as well as multipliers and eliminated players can still exact revenge.Online Road Rage is an 8 player online team event. Criterion Games has announced that they have found a way to support 1080i in the PS3 version of Burnout Paradise.According to a post on the developer's website, “this will enable any gamers who own a 1080i TV that doesn’t support 720p to run the game in HD instead of SD.” However, if you have the option to run 720p they recommend you run the game in this mode because the 1080i image is effectively scaled from 720p. The 1080i support will be added with the ‘Cagney’ update, ie version 1.3. Once the Cagney download has been installed, gamers will need to tick 1080i and untick 720p in the XMB display options. I have played a lot of Burnout games in the past and to be perfectly honest I have never been a fan. This new Burnout Paradise game however is a lot different then the previous versions. There are several elements to that game that make it substantially better. First off you have the incredible crash sequences. I am talking about crash sequences that are very real to life unlike most car racing games out there were you can hit a guy head on at 60 mph and bounce off without damage. Try that in this game and your car will look like a soda can. They also have a new showdown mode where you can just get crazy bouncing all over the place. When you add that to the racing and stunt challenges it makes for quite and explosive game.

It may even have been "meaningful" in that some people have found Asymmetric entertaining or persuasive (Good news, the three of you qualify for free psychiatric help.). EA released a downloadble content pack for free today for anyone who’s lucky enough to own the PSP Racer Burnout Dominator. It’s good to see a developer, especially one like EA, providing free downloads for their games, more so on the Playstation Portable. It’s a really great sign for the future. You can pick up Carnival Point right now. The Burnout Paradise demo has been available for download on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network for a while now, and as a fan of the series for many years I thought I'd go ahead and write my thoughts on it.The main feature in Paradise is that the game is no longer linear. You are free to roam around Paradise City and choose which challenges to participate in. I wasn't sure this was going to work, but playing is believing. The demo only allows you to race on two events and do a single stunt run, but what's there is exciting enough to make me want to own it when it's released next month. Oh, and the graphics are sick! Expect a full review early next year.

So Tycho from Penny Arcade has had a hands preview of the new Burnout game and has come out in true Penny Arcade no nonsense style and stated.
Also, in a radical reversal - like you might see in a wrestling match - the Playstation 3 version is clearly the better of the two. Clearly.
According to Tycho the PS3 version is graphically better, has less framerate issues and in a complete turn up for the books, better online multi-player integration than the Xbox 36o version.
So nothing much that can be argued there…. Now all we wait for is the game to be released so we can see this for ourselves.

Burnout Paradise (Burnout 5) will be racing its way to PS3 and Xbox 360 in America on January 22nd and in Europe on January 24, 2008. So developer Criterion Games decided to give a tour of the 30km2 (11.6mile2) seamless open-world they’ve been building.
In this “Welcome to Paradise City” trailer you’ll see the spots and the sites you’ll be racing through in a menu- & loading-free Paradise City.

Los chicos de EA junto con el estudio Criterion nos presentan un nuevo video mostrandonos mas detalles de como sera el nuevo titulo de la saga Burnout: “Burnout Paradise”.
En este video nos muestran en detalle el escenario donde se desarrolloa el juego “Paradise City”, puediendo contemplar el gran acabado y el gran nivel de detalle que tiene.

If you’re a Burnout fan then you might be happy to know EA Games has confirmed that a Burnout Paradise demo will appear on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live during December.
This is to wet your appetite for the release of Burnout Paradise in North America on January 22nd and then a European release on January 25th.
Burnout Paradise is rumored to start a true next-gen debut in racing games, at least you will have some fun with the demo during Christmas period 2007.
Features in this next installment include racing through the streets in search of the fastest Burnout Route, three online Challenges and an all-new Stunt mode.

It's one of those guitar burnout days again, ATOMIC fans. They come usually once every couple weeks for me. Anyway, been listening to some other guitarists and some radio tunes.

Com o meu recente vício em Burnout Revenge (sim, eu sei que é antigo), não vou mentir que fiquei decepcionado ao saber que o mais novo exemplar da franquia, Burnout Paradise chegará apenas em 22 de janeiro.O game será apenas para Xbox 360 e PlayStation 3, e eu mesmo sem ter nenhum dos dois, espero que alguma locadora da minha cidade já tenha a grana necessária para comprar um dos consoles, já que esse é um game que eu não posso perder!Veja um novo trailer do game abaixo:Aos felizardos donos do 360 e PS3, uma boa notícia. I'm experiencing guitar burnout today, so I'm taking the day off from playing and blogging.

We mean the teachers, not the kids. According to a national survey of rookie teachers released today, middle and high school teachers are much more likely than their elementary school peers to say teaching is what they really want to do, and less likely to think they're in it for the long haul.
Conducted by Public Agenda and the National Comprehensive Center for Teacher Quality, the survey of 641 first-year teachers found that 61 percent of new elementary school teachers strongly agree that teaching is really what they want to be doing now, while only 47 percent of middle and high school teachers saying likewise. (The numbers don't look good either way, though, no?)
"We all know that kids become a handful in the teen years, so we shouldn't be surprised that teaching kids this age is especially challenging," Jean Johnson, Public Agenda's executive vice president, said in a press release.
