The power guys just won't give up. It has been terribly quiet on the PLC/BPL front: Dallas is scaling back, and progress is only being made in developing nations (Ecuador, India, Brasil), or so it seems.
But now (well, the patent was filed in 2005) we have UETS (Universal Ethernet Telecommunications Service), as per Jose Morales Barroso's paper in the IEC Ocober newsletter. A interesting read!

"Any Java developer who has already worked with Java Server Faces has undoubtedly come across the need for a custom component. Most components in JSF implementations are rudimentary and don't really address real-world situations--if data-entry solutions for all problem domains were as simple as a login form, then JSF would be just the right tool out of the box. The saving grace of the framework is the ability to create and extend custom components, and if you couple that with the power and versatility of Ajax, you really start to reap the benefits of the modern Model-View-Controller architecture." - by Chris Hardin. To get more information on how to bundle Ajax into custom JSF components, you can start from reading this article.I want to say , that nowadays - you almost can't do JSF application without Ajax if you want to create powerful rich application. Users of your application are hope and waiting that web application will be as close as possible to desktop applications. With all
After finding myself spending too much time watching the various inventory trackers I decided to break down and buy one of the Nintendo Wii Bundles that was being offered by GameStop.
Was it pricey? Yeah. If not for the fact that I wanted everything in the bundle I probably would have waited for the next opportunity.
Well - now I’m regretting it.
Just out of curiosity I checked my order status tonight and saw something interesting…
Who would have thought that my Nintendo Wii was ready to ship but was being held back because a couple games were back ordered? That’s a bitch.
Supposedly the bundle ships on December 18th. With my luck the subscription to Game Informer will be back ordered though.

Buy far one of the better bundles so far, Circuit City is now offering the Nintendo Wii along with an extra remote and nunchuck for just $309.99.
While there’s no information on how the item will be shipped this is a pretty good starting place for anyone interested in grabbing a Wii without grabbing and expensive bundle.

This is just a quick shout-out to anyone looking to grab a Nintendo Wii. Barnes & Noble is currently running a bundle (very similar to the one previously offered by GameStop) which includes the console, six games, an extra controller, and a memory card. Unlike Gamestop they’re also offering shipping within 24hrs.
For $649.91 it’s a pretty good deal.

Earlier this week it was Walmart forcing buyers to pick up a Nintendo Wii in an oversized bundle. For around $650 you could grab a Nintendo Wii and eight games. Today, going on four hours now, EBGameStop has been running a similar deal, this one for $694.88.
One thing I like about the GameStop bundle (over the Walmart one) is the included 1yr extended warranty and subscription to Game Informer Magazine. Beside the warranty you also get a Nintendo Wii ($249), six games (roughly $300), A 1GB Wii branded SD Card ($59.99) and an extra remote ($39.99). What that basically means is you get the warranty and subscription for free.
What’s the catch? The expected shipping date is 12/18/06 but:
Supplies are extremely limited and while we expect to ship by December 18, this cannot be guaranteed.
If you’re willing to gamble on them not having enough on the 18th it’s a decent bundle. If you’re worried though you might be better off waiting til Sunday instead.

It’s called the “Customer’s Choice Bundle” and for only $648.38 it grabs you a Nintendo Wii, and 8 games (from roughly 11) of your choice.
What’s the catch? Both times it’s gone live in the last two hours the choices have been so limited that you get stuck with at least one movie knockoff game in the mix. If you’re dying for a Wii, and are willing to go with out an extended warranty, this might be just the deal you’re looking for.
