      Pet Peeve: Chicago's Summer Bummer
I try not to list pet peeves two days in a row, but I've had a disgustingly long day so that rule is out the window for this occasion. Today was by far the nicest day in Chicago that we've had in a very long time. This lovely weather might actually steal attention away from the cougar that was killed in Roscoe Village this week. And it's tough to beat a cougar, it's a wild cougar in Chicago! So with the nice weather, there are inevitable things that happen in the city:The crosswalks become insufferably crowdedTourists - more on that another timeThe summer homeless people come outPeople have very high self esteem about the clothes they wearand the biggest summer buzz kill....Cubs gamesNow before I'm gunned down for saying that, I'm not saying that I hate the Cubs, I'm saying as a Lakevie

Bummer - No Rugby Sevens Tickets
[22 March 2007] So, sitting here pondering. A little more than a week from the Rugby Sevens and still no luck in getting tickets (last offer I got off some forum was $2,800 for 3-day pass, gee). I am now starting to make up stupid excuses for myself for missing the event and [...]

      Bummer!
We so need a new TV! BAD! We need a tv tomorrow! Or more like, yesterday!! The TV in the living room has gone from bad to worse. Mel, Dan and Jacq could vouch for that. Hehe.. Never have I seen a football field that was orange-y red!! And not only is the colour of the TV whacked, but you've got to wait a while for the images to appear too. Last time, it was like a couple of minutes. Maybe 3-5

Bucs bummer: Cadillac, OT out for season
TAMPA, Fla. — Running back Cadillac Williams and tackle Luke Petitgout both will undergo season-ending knee surgery this week, a major setback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.   Williams injured his right knee when he was tackled by Carolina safety Chris Harris at the end of an 18-yard run during the first quarter of Sunday’s 20-7 victory over the Panthers. Petitgout limped off the field after defensive tackle Kris Jenkins fell into his right leg in the second quarter. “That’s a more…

      Not Qualified, Bummer!
Today I received a group message from First Opinions Panel regarding their new survey which if qualified you’ll be invited to a focus group that will pay $100USD. So I copied and pasted the URL into my browser’s address field and got ready to answer some survey questions but unfortunately after selecting the region where I am located the next screen presented me with the dreaded “not qualified” message. Aw, that sucks! Anyway, those who did not qualify will be entered in a draw that will give them a chance to win 1000L$ (but I want $100USD, hehehehe). If you want to earn some L$ to support your Second Life then what are you waiting for join First Opinions Panel now. You can also join other survey/research groups like Market Truths and Reperes-Second Life for even more L$. Oh and don’t forget Earn2Life amd Slam-X too. They are not survey/research related but you’ll earn L$ from them too. Goodluck!

Work: A Bipolar Bummer (Part 2)
Yesterday's blog on work tied for the top number of "hits" on any subject I've written about thus far. And more people posted comments than on any other topic.Clearly, we all agree it's a very important topic and as far as I'm aware, there's not a lot written about it--in books. Perhaps, it's been discussed on some of the major bipolar web sites but I'm not sure. As I mentioned in an earlier posting, I rarely read these sites because dwelling on the sad aspects of this illness doesn't make me feel well. While I'm happy to discuss any and all problems, by nature I'm a solution-oriented problem solver.Having said this, I suddenly realized that I wasn't sure how to proceed on this topic. I'm not sure how to use the blogging format to discuss individual questions that may be pressing. For example, I read Syd's comment and she needs help right now. She was recently diagnosed. She's currently experiencing a depression. She's been a freelancer for the past six years a

      Work: A Bipolar Bummer
Although I was able to work full-time for almost 20 years, once I began taking medication and I got sicker and sicker, I was unable to work on site. Both the severity and duration of my depressive episodes increased. I went from having two annual six-week depressive periods, one in April and the other in October, to having one depressive episode last an entire year.Luckily, I had already developed a number of skills that initially enabled me to continue working as a freelance writer, grant writer, and author. The bummer was that my second book, The Mommy Guide, was published just before I started this downward spiral. While I was initially able to attend a number of book signings at bookstores and even do a few radio interviews, my greatest opportunity came when the medication was producing terrible side effects.I was approached by an international advertising agency who wanted to send me on a six-city book tour if I would endorse a baby formula that one of their clients manufactu

      What a Bummer
Ohh what a bummer this is. I grabbed my framed print (the one from my home and garden party) today to go hang it up in my room. I put the nails in the wall grab the print hang it and that is when I noticed a huge gash in it. So now it will be sent back on Monday to get a new one sent to me. For something that cost $160.00 it better be perfect.
