A couple of months ago my work had a team lunch at the Melba Buffet. We each paid $28.50, which was reasonably priced (at the high end of the scale) and was quite enjoyable.
Louis' Birthday came up recently and seeing as he loves seafood, I couldn't think of anything better than a buffet of seafood to feast upon. We'd already been to (and been let down by) the Conservatory, so Melba sounded like a good bet.
Coincidently being Fathers' Day, reservations were scarce - we were able to book the last table they had available. The buffet price varies depending on the menu and the day of the week (and time of year). When I went with work colleagues, we paid $28.50 p/p for the full lunch buffet on a Tuesday. The Weekend Dinner price was slightly higher, at $69.50 per person. We figured we'd just eat a lot to get our money's worth.

When I was having my breakfast in Traders Hotel, Beijing, I saw this little signboard on each table. Something they newly implemented, which I’ve never seen previously. The signboard has a red surface on one side and a green on the other.The red one says something like: This seat is occupied.And the green one says something like: I’m done. This seat is available now.Well, whenever I have my meals (buffet), I always carry my bag with me to the food bars, to prevent theft. As a result of that, the waiters can sometimes mistaken the seat as unoccupied and put another guests there, especially before you’ve started.This signboard becomes very helpful now, especially to single business travelers like me. Geez! Of course not silly! It is sooo not my birthday yet (but my birthday is around the corner, so do remember my present). And I am sooo not 27 years old! Though I'm somewhat considered an adult (IceAngel loves reminding me that), I'm still within the early 20'er group.

Oh well, I still have a couple of years to learn the works of being an actual adult-adult. It's such a pity that humans have to grow old up. Sigh. Why does time go by so quickly?

With so many choices, who wouldn’t want to try everything out even if it won’t even fit inside your stomach? Ahhhh….I was astounded by the variety of food inside Golden Jaguar. It’s located at the end of Wangfujing road. We waited for an hour that day (don’t know if it’s because it was Valentines). We thought that there won’t be much food left since it’s past 12nn but to my surprise, the food was still overflowing. From salmon, steaks, lambs, beef, prawns, tuna, oysters, crabs, roasted duck…almost everything you can imagine. Drinks were free flowing, that includes alcoholic ones. My favorite part was the dessert section! UNLIMITED HAAGEN DAZ ICE CREAM!
Honestly, I haven’t tasted any Haagen Daz ice cream until that time. The macadamia nut flavored one was my favorite.
It was just at the rate of RMB 180 during lunchtime but the rate jumps to RMB 210 for dinner! For me, it’s value for

Fairfield loves their buffets. Actually it’s not just Fairfield, it’s the Midwest I’ve noticed. I’ve always hated buffets, mainly because it was usually a sign of bad food - quantity over quality. However, once in awhile you find a buffet that actually is delicious (as well as plentiful), especially here in Fairfield.
My wife recently discovered Arandas Mexican Buffet, which is inside a gas station convenience store across from Everybody’s grocery store. It’s an unlikely place for good food - being in a convenience store that is. After eating there about four times she revealed her secret to me and now I’ve been taking the ScribeStorm development team there for our Friday lunches, and will continue to do so until they tell me to stop.
