      The Buckeye Surgeon interview
This week, The Doctor Anonymous Show is honored to welcome Dr. Jeffrey Parks to the show. His blog is called Buckeye Surgeon and he works in the Cleveland, Ohio area. This probably doesn't mean much to some people out there, but, to me, I think this is great because this is a guy who is close to me. Buckeye football wings & rings
I love college football, especially the Ohio State Buckeyes.  Last Saturday was the start of the 2008 season, with a potential big year for the Buckeyes, coming into the season rated very high (that school up north is nowhere to be seen in the rankings, of course).  To herald in the season, my wife and I decided to make my version of wings and rings. For the wings, I haven’t yet found any

Finally, Terrelle Pryor decides on a school which was Ohio State. He knows that if he wants to get to the next level, their offense would showcase his skills more than a Rich Rodriquez run based offense @ Michigan. I didn’t agree with him taking so long on his decision, but hey, it [...]

Its Official! Terrelle Pryor is an Ohio State Buckeye!
Today, Terrelle Pryor made official a decision that had been expected for the last two months. The star quarterback for Jeannette (Pa.) High School announced at a press conference today that he will be attending Ohio State. Pryor had originally planned to announce his college choice on national signing day, but instead announced that he would be delaying his decision. He had said he was ready to choose Ohio State, but his father had convinced him to give Penn State a closer look. At the time, the 6-6 quarterback said he was still considering Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State and Oregon. He said he would make an official visit to Penn State and might make a trip to Oregon, but neither materialized. Last weekend, Pryor said he had narrowed the list to two schools, but wouldn't identi

      I Am The Buckeye Queen!
Since Buckeye Season began, I’ve been churning out my sinfully delicious, chocolicious, fluffy peanut buttery goodies. Even though the requests keep rolling in, I am completely insecure. As sad as it sounds, a few well-timed insults from a few key people in my life pretty much shattered my confidence in any of my domestic abilities. Now, I’m often afraid the tide will turn and I’ll fall out of favor with my Buckeye-loving peeps. Everytime I send Dave off to work with deliveries, I’m nervous until he can tell me they were well-received. Today, when Dave arrived home, he ran up to the play room where I was giving Julia a pony ride to give me my feedback. “Well, all the Buckeyes are delivered. That’s it until after Thanksgiving,” Dave said. “Uh huh,” I grunted. Julia was laughing wildly, bouncing up and down on my back while I inched around the room on my hands and knees. “Yeah. I have a few more requests for Christ

Peppers Get Buckeye Fans Red Hot
The Red Hot Chili Peppers were playing a show Monday night in Columbus, OH when the punk funk masters decided to bust out their rendition of the Michigan fight song, "Hail To The Victors." Some Ohio State fans in attendance blamed that one act for ruining the entire show, and even stated they would boycott their music altogether. Wow. Talk about intense. OSU fans must realize that frontman Anthony Kiedis and drummer Chad Smith both hail from Michigan -- as referenced in their songs "Organic Anti-Beat Box Band" and "Especially in Michigan." The Columbus Dispatch sports columnist Bob Hunter wrote, "...all of the wailing about the Chili Peppers showing 'a lack of respect' for fans in Columbus seems a little extreme. Can’t anybody take a joke?"

      It's Buckeye Season!
The holidays are almost here, so I’ve started to make my traditional goodies for the season: peanut butter balls, better known as Buckeyes here in Ohio. I started making them about four years ago. I had included some in goodie baskets I’d made for Dave’s family for Christmas. I made more than enough for the baskets, so I sent the leftovers to work with Dave to share with his co-workers. Soon, I started to get requests for more. By the end of the Christmas season, I’d established a bit of a Buckeye cult following. The next year, as Thanksgiving approached, the requests for Buckeyes began to roll in. I filled each order and experimented with requests to try some variations. By the end of that year, I was offering Buckeyes with dark, milk and white chocolate. Now, I have a regular little holiday business going. Today, I made my first batch of peanut butter balls while Dave couldn’t resist making jokes like this. Starting out each year is great. J

Buckeye Ban on Bottles as Clash with Wolverines Approaches
The Ohio State Buckeyes are 10-0 and ranked on top of the Bowl Championship Series standings, but residents looking to celebrate with a cold Miller High Life or Coors Light near campus will have to settle for beer in cans. Three United Dairy Farmers convenience stores near the Ohio State campus have agreed to stop selling domestic beer in glass bottles through the end of the school year at the request of Ohio State officials. You can still get imports in bottles, since the school does not feel students tend to buy the more expensive brew. The school is concerned about past incidents of students throwing glass bottles at police and complaints from neighbors near campus about broken glass. Ohio State faces Northwestern this week and rival Michigan Wolverines on Nov. 18. Michigan is currently ranked second in the BCS standings and that game will likely determine one of the teams that plays in the national championship game in January. The University is talking to other retailers and bars n
