The moment I stepped out of the Baz bus at Buccaneers, I knew why it was so popular. Situated on its own undeveloped coastal hill, the views of the beach and ocean were stunning! The constant sound of waves crashing could be heard from the porch of the Blue Dorm where I took a bed. [...]

With every great division there comes a great rivalry, and the Carolina Panthers Tampa Bay Buccaneers rivalry is no exception. Though the teams have only been playing each other twice a season since the division realignment in 2002, the lack of history has by no means made the battles any less intense.

Jared Allen, who has publicly stated that he wants out of Kansas City, may soon be getting his wish. Allen became disgruntled with the Chiefs when negations for a long-term contract broke down last year. The Minnesota Vikings and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have both expressed interest in the disgruntled pro-bowl defensive end. Allen, who led the NFL with 15.5 sacks in 2007, had been declared the franchise player by the Chiefs for the 2008 season. Allen is free to sign a contract offer from any franchise. The Chiefs then have the rights to match the offer and retain Allen.

I personally think that this bunch could be the best overall cheering squad in the entire NFL, and perhaps all of pro sports. The combination of outfits, good looks, and warm climate location all make for a great crew. Their team page kind of makes me salivate. Look at those uniforms folks. [...]
The Kansas City Chiefs traded Michael Bennett to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday night. What the Chiefs received in return was immediately unclear. The Chiefs declined to confirm the deal, but Bennett said he was informed of the trade by officials of both teams. Reported by Adam Teicher, Kansas City Star

Interesting. It looks like Bennett will be splitting carries with Earnest Graham in Tampa, while rookie RB Kolby Smith will now backup Larry Johnson.

I was really happy to find that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers website provided an inside look to their cheerleading squad…. The outfits that they have are another unique type rather than the usual bikini outfits. And just like the Denver Broncos cheerleaders, the Tamba Bay cheerleaders have a neat style that adds an extra kick to their outfits! Personally, though, I’m not all that fond of the grey bottoms…. The red top with the white accented sleeves are terrific, but the shorts they wear are not all that appealing. Grey is too neutral…. Of course, I know they also have a red mini-skirt bottom, which really goes quite nice. Red and black are great colors and with white accents, the uniforms are great!
You really should slide on over to the Buccaneers homepage and check out the cheerleaders’ section. Complete bios on th

It looks like the chances of retired quaterback Jake Plummer playing again for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is slim and none, with slim leaving a long time ago. Stephen F. Holder of the St. Petersburg Times is reporting that the Bucs, in tandem with the Denver Broncos, have filed a grievance against Plummer for the return of a prorated portion of his signing bonus based on a breach of contract. Both teams are seeking a total of around $7 million; however, the matter more than likely will go through arbitration to get settled once and for all.
The Bucs held out hope that Plummer would report to the team but even face-to-face visits to Plummer’s home in Idaho by Bucs head coach Jon Gruden were futile. Since the team’s training camp began, the Bucs have indicated they planned on using any legal remedy available to them to recover their share of that signing bonus. It is also believed that the Broncos, along with the Buccaneers, are remaining silent about whether the Buc
Although it seems that many NFL observers and fans are quick to assume that the Buccaneers won’t be much better this year than they were in the days of the yellow-and-orange uniforms with the pirate on the helmet, I think that the Bucs will surprise a lot of people this year. Yes, they will. Some things took place during the offseason that gave me this impression:
Firstly, they did a pretty good job in free agency of nabbing guys at a reasonable price. And, more importantly, Jon Gruden knows he is coaching for his job, for the first time in his career - which should light a fire under him more than anything. Another reason? The offensive line will be better, believe it or not. Left tackle Luke Petitgout, dumped by the Giants early in the offseason, was signed to a three-year, $15 million deal — a steal in light of the seven-year, $49 million packages that went to stiffs like Derrick Dockery, Eric Steinbach, and Leonard Davis.
As you could well imagine, Petitgout also has a
Head Coach John Gruden is certainly pleased with the free agent acquisition of QB Jeff Garcia this off-season. He said, “Jeff Garcia gives our team a chance to get centered around a guy we can win with. (He) is far and away the best quarterback on our team at this point.” Garcia showed last year in Philadelphia that he can still be a premier
quarterback. Garcia definitely has the desire to win and wants the starting job. He said, “(Gruden) has given me the opportunity to be the leader of this team and when I get those opportunities I choke them to death.” Garcia desperately wants to be the starting quarterback and he probably will.
Coach Gruden hasn’t forgotten about Chris Simms, “Chris Simms has a bright future. I think Chris is a good player but two of the last three seasons he’s had serious injuries. Right now, he’s not in rhythm.” Chris Simms said, “It’s just June, I take it with a grain of salt, I’m coming int
While most of us are settling in just fine with the boys of summer and also waiting to see who gets crowned as NBA champions, you can't deny that craving you have to see the pinpoint flight of a pigskin launching from a strong-armed Quarterback, or a strategically placed stiff-arm from a bruising Running Back sending a would-be tackler to his knees. Football season will be here before you know it and Tampa Bay fans will have the opportunity to release their pent up gridiron urges as the Bucs will host "FanFest" on Saturday, June 9 at Raymond James Stadium."The 2007 FanFest will include all of the elements Buccaneer fans have come to anticipate on this one-of-a-kind day: up-close interaction with virtually the entire roster, myriad autograph opportunities, a Q&A session with the entire Buccaneer coaching staff, cheerleader performances, interactive games, sponsor giveaways and more. The Tampa Bay Bucs are still in thought about adding former Cowboys, Browns, and 49′er wide out Antonio Bryant to the teams roster. There is without question the team needs help at wide out, but the internal discussion is if the team wants to commit money to a player with baggage, such as Bryant.
The team worked out the receiver last week, but despite his speed, which was impressive to the Bucs brass, there is no for sure of him joining the teams roster anytime soon. “Speed is a hard thing to coach, and it’s a hard thing to acquire,” Bucs head coach Jon Gruden said. “We’re looking for guys who can run, and certainly Bryant is a guy who does possess some speed. But there’s no guarantee he’s going to be a Buccaneer. It’s more of a research situation.”
Last year Bryant had an up and down season for the 49′ers, who he signed a big money deal with before the start of last season. He put up decent numbers for his only seas
Justin Gatlin is facing up to an 8-year suspension from track and field for testing positive for testosterone and other steroids last summer. Gatlin tested the waters of Arizona and Houston but the Buccaneers were the only team to offer him a formal workout. The Buccaneers will decide whether to sign Gatlin and invite him back to next week’s mini-camp following this weekend’s.
Gatlin is no stranger to football; he just hasn’t played in a while. The last time he played was in high school. Gatlin has said that catching the ball isn’t a problem, he doesn’t drop balls. It is obvious that Gatlin has the speed for the NFL; in 2004 he won the gold medal in the 100-meter. Recently, in a workout in Houston he ran a 4.1 second 40-yard dash. While Gatlin is testing his hand as a wide receiver in mini-camp, his most likely position if he makes a team will be returning kicks.
Gatlin has the perfect agent for helping him find a place in this league. Renaldo Nehem

Chris Simms ruptured his appendix in week 3 and it caused him to miss the rest of the season. But even before his injury he was off to horrible start, he had a QB rating of 46.3 and 7 ints to just 1 TD. His replacement was Bruce Gradkowski, rookie out of Toledo. Although he was a little better, it wasn't by much. Their running game wasn't nearly as good as it was last season. After his impressive rookie year, Carnell Williams had quit a sophomore slump gaining only 798 yards and just 1 touchdown. I also should mention that I drafted him in one of my fantasy leagues...yeah, that didn't turn out to well. The only player that had somewhat a good offensive year was 12-year veteran, Joey Galloway. He caught 62 balls for 1,057 yards and 7 touchdowns. They need help at quarterba
