Researchers turn brushing your teeth into child’s play
Filed under: Gaming, Household Kids -- they hate brushing their teeth. Sure, we try and show them pictures of zombie faces and toothless seniors, but it just doesn't work. Finally, someone has come up with a solution to the problem: make it fun. Researchers at the National Taiwan University have devised a scheme which turns brushing your teeth into a webcam-tracked video game. Using an LED-studded toothbrush, a camera mounted above a mirror, and an LCD display, kids can watch plaque and debris get annihilated from a cartoon mouth while they scrub their choppers. The system is able to track detailed, three-demensional movement of the child's hand, covering 24 separate areas of the mouth. Kids who tested the system were found to brush twice as well as those who hadn't used it, but were also

      Brushing Tony
Well it seems as though Tony doesn’t like to be brushed. He is okay with it, I mean, he barks at us when we do it. He much prefers when I feed him treats and my husband brushes him. He gets a bit snarky sometimes and show me his teeth, but I tell him to just quit it and he does. He’s a big pushover. And then I go more gentle because I am probably actually hurting him and he’s letting me know he doesn’t want to be hurt, which is a good thing. He is blowing his summer coat and once we get him all brushed out he’ll feel much better. We do it in small increments so he doesn’t have to put up with us for too long a time. He’s getting much prettier and much better! He is such a doll. We love having this boy around. Utah Collie Rescue, Inc. does have their own checking accounts, so as to keep all our monies in order. Brushing with History: Mason Pearson
Most women, up until the 1960’s brushed their hair daily before going to bed. Because styles changed and more people started to wash their hair more often, brushing went out of style. Brushing your hair actually does serve a purpose; it cleans and stimulates the scalp and takes the sebum (your own natural oil) from the root of each hair follicle through the strand keeping the ends of your hair as shiny and supple looking as the root. Mason Pearson has been making the BEST brush (for brushing, not for styling) since the 1860’s in London. Everyone should actually brush their hair 15 times in each direction (front, back, left to right and right to left) before going to bed each night. You’ll find that once you start brushing you won’t need to wash your hair as often and it (as well as your scalp) will become much healthier over time. It also feels great. You’ll want to choose the correct brush for your hair type and length. Pure Boar Bristle is for Fine to Normal hair Mixted

The Things I Think About When I’m Brushing My Teeth
In the hazy cloud of sleepiness that envelops me every weekday morning, a cold shower doing nothing to rouse me from my state of semi-consciousness, my mind wanders. For miles! Sometimes it goes as far away as North Korea. This morning as I was brushing my teeth (with my eyes closed), for some mystifying reason, I thought of an episode of (I think it was) Anthony Bourdain’s A Cook’s Tour on Discovery Travel & Living, where he went to South Korea and had the chance to visit the no man’s land bordering North and South Korea. In that episode he witnessed the tense stand-off between the guards from the armed forces of the North and South, eyeballing each other at the border. This has been going on for half a century since the end of the Korean war that divided the two countries. And for some reason, Amy Grant’s “That’s What Love Is For” played in my head. I’m no fan of sappy, pop love songs and I haven’t touched any of my Class 95 F

Vietnamese Painting - Brushing Excellence On Canvas
There is nothing more beautiful than an artwork that stimulates aesthetic pleasure. Such aesthetic experience acts as a catalyst to enhance our happiness. Earlier, the classical works of art drew heavily from nature’s beauty. But of late, modern art work chiefly draws inspiration from the mundane life of man. In other words, modern art captures both material and the spiritual on an equal plane. This trend of depicting the various aspects of human life is clearly evident in the paintings of Vietnam. From a historical perspective, Vietnamese painting is not a very old art form. It's been only seventy years since the first official art academy of Hanoi, the Ecole de Beaux Arts, opened its doors to local students. However, the cultural origin of Vietnamese painting dates back much further. There has been a consistent effort on part of the Vietnamese people to devote themselves in serious artwork. When the first lessons in line, drawing, anatomy and landscape painting were offered in t

      Brushing Cat's Teeth
Here some tips for you, on how to brush your cat's teeth ( Do you brush 'em?)Note :Do not overly restrain your cat. Keep sessions short and positive. Be sure to praise your cat throughout the process.(1)First, have your cat get used to you putting things in her mouth. Dip your finger in tuna water, chicken broth, or other liquid your cat may like. Call your cat with a voice that means "treat" and let your cat lick the liquid off your finger. Then rub your soaked finger gently over your cat's gums and teeth. After a few sessions, your cat should actually look forward to this and you can move on.(2)Now, place a gauze around your finger. (You can again dip it in the tuna water or other liquid.) Gently rub the teeth in a circular motion with your gauzed finger. Repeat this for the number of sessions it takes your cat to feel comfortable with this procedure. Remember to praise her and keep an upbeat attitude.(3)After your cat is used to having the flavored gauze in her mouth, you are rea
