In a consideration of the most famous people of the 20th Century, Davis Miller places Bruce Lee in the top four. Many may wonder about the point of such a futile and ‘nerdy’ exercise: why arrange famous names into a hierarchy? But Miller’s point in making the list is not to argue for the importance of Bruce Lee. Rather it is to point out that although Bruce Lee is surely at least
In the below essay, Bruce Lee describes what he referred to as Gung Fu. Bruce Lee simply spelled the word Kung Fu as Gung Fu. Kung Fu is another word for Chinese martial arts. As we know, Bruce Lee's Gung Fu was essentially Yip Man's Wing Chun.
Gung fu, the centre of the Oriental arts of self-defence, is a philosophical art that serves to promote health, to cultivate the mind, and to provide a
We have been trying to get Anna interested in activities, hopefully a sport of some kind. We want our kids to NOT be couch potatoes like us, and we are trying to be good examples by increasing physical activity...but it's not working. :PMe a few days ago: Hey Anna, what about karate? You like to do high kicks and karate chops...Anna (in a less than enthusiastic tone): Mmmmm... OK... But only if you bribe me.*SIGH*
Bruce Lee was one of the biggest badasses to ever live. Aside from being essentially the godfather of Kung Fu films in America and paving the way for stars such as Jet Li and Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee was possibly the greatest martial artist to ever bust heads and strangle people to death with their own intestines.Say what you want about the modern-day martial arts movie superstars - that they're more acrobatic than Bruce or that they have cooler moves, more exciting films or more innovative techniques or whatever - almost all of them look to Bruce as the pinnacle of martial arts greatness and most of them were inspired to undertake their arts by watching him. It's difficult to compare the kung fu films of today with Bruce's classics like Enter the Dragon or The Chinese Connection because f
El mayor éxito de Bruce Lee; los americanos emularon el género de las populares películas chinas de artes marciales, contaron con un gran presupuesto y un guión que puede entretener hasta los que no son aficionados a las patadas y vuelos del mítico Lee Mostrar Todo
I’ve been pleased to see that McDonalds have been hopelessly flogging dead horses with ‘new’ partners and have relaunched this years Mcdonalds Monopoly. This time they’ve partnered with HMV - god knows how they got suckered into this but hey there is one born every minute.

Cleaning up the Mess the "Little Dragon" Left Behind
By Hawkins Cheung, as told to Robert Chu, in "Inside Kung-Fu" January 1992
To understand Bruce and his martial art, you have to look at his mother art, wing chun. Wing chun in the 1950s was a popular fighting system because of its reputation in challenge fights with other gung-fu Systems. Wing chun was noted for its simple, direct, economical

Ok he didn’t use Bruce Lee’s phenomenal one-inch punch to construct this mural, but he did pay his respects to the legend by doing the procedure entirely in karate chops. Check out the artist’s page at Philinthecircle, and watch him go to work after the break. (more…)

Yip Man is largely responsible for spreading the art to where it is today. Without his influence, Wing Chun may very well be practiced in seclusion by only a few people in China. Thanks to Yip Man's teachings the Western world was introduced to the art through his many students including Bruce Lee. Here is rare footage of Yip Man demonstrating Siu Nim Tao, Chum Kiu and the Mook Yan Jong. Below is a chronicle of the life of Yip Man.Yip Man was Born on October 14th, 18931899 – 1905 - Yip Man 6 to 12 years old (Foshan)Studied Wing Chun kungfu with Chan Wah Shun (Money Changer Wah) at Yip's family hall, Main Street of Foshan (Song Yuen Dai Gai)At that time studying together with Yip Man were Lui Yui Chai, Ng Chung So, Chan Yui Min, Ng Siu Lo and others.1905 - Yip Man 12 years old (Foshan) Chan Wah Shun died, but before he died he asked Ng Chung So to help Yip Man to complete the system. Bruce Lee 李小龍 The heart of the JKD system is NOT a combat modified Chinese-American Wing Chun Gung Fu. This is a big misconception to all except his Wing Chun friends and those of his first students. Bruce's and Wing Chun's definition of modification are different then that perceived by most of his students and the Western mind.Wing Chun set's itself up for "modification". It is meant to grow and develop with the student and become an "expression" of the student. Wing Chun allows change for the sake of adaptability and survival. Because of his many personal experiences and lack of knowledge in certain areas of Wing Chun (he only knew the first two "instructional" forms, and a limited number of the wooden dummy forms), he came up with his "personal" solutions by using his own ideas and guidance mixed with those he had already learned, further developing his own "personal" wing chun tools. This personal wing chun he called Jun Fan to his early students. Jun Fan was Bruce's Chin
Bruce Lee (Lee Hsiao Lung), the son of a famous Chinese opera singer, born in San Fransisco in November 1940. He moved to Hong Kong when he became a child star in the growing Eastern film industry. The first film he made was The birth of Mankind and his last film which is uncompleted during the time of his death in 1973 was called Game of Death. He was a loner and always getting himself into fights, with this he looked towards Kung Fu as a way of disciplining himself. The famous Yip Men taught Bruce his basic skills, but it was not long before he was mastering the master. Yip Men was acknowledged to be one of the greatest authorities on the subject of Wing Chun a branch of the Chinese Martial Arts. Bruce mastered this before advancing to his own style of Jeet Kune Do.At the age of 19 Bruce left Hong Kong to study degree in philosophy at the University of Washington in America. It was that time that he took a waiter's job and began to teach some of his skills to students who would pay
Todd Cochrane of Geek News Central replied to my post “Deathmatch: Kirkpartick VS Cochrane“.
It went a little something like this (I encourage you to read the actual post ) :
No name blogger blah Online Deathmatch Blah Blah.. can’t see past the end of my nose for the fear or data mining.. blah blah blah…

Okay, that’s not really what Todd wrote but it’s what I go out of it.
I’m sorry Todd but I think that you’re way off base with your post.
I never said you and Marshall should have an online deathmatch but instead an MTV Celebrity Deathmatch. You know, the claymation show on MTV? I though it would be a fun thing to watch!
Anyway, I guess “a certain blogger” is just nitpicking.
The point of my post was that there is no apparent love lost between y

This is obviously from MySpace rather than YouTube, just for a change. It shows a guy who calls himself Phil in the circle painting Bruce Lee on a massive canvas in a rather unusual way. While I think the end result isn’t the best portrait I’ve seen of the great man and master martial artist, it’s done in such a unique and clever way, with the guy using a series of chops and karate moves to create the work of art, it’s well worth drawing attention to and posting on YouTube Digger.
This seems a fitting opportunity to let you know that I, the YouTube Digger now has my own MySpace page , so feel free to visit, add me as a friend, comment and send me any cool videos you may have spotted.

Here we have a video featuring an aspiring action star. He's all psyched up to strut his stuff and show us his badass Ninja moves. Only problem is he doesn't quite nail the backflip, and lands face first on the ground. He gets up, totally dazed, and tries to continue with his routine as if nothing happened. Swinging his nunchuks wildly, he flails about and ends up falling over. Gotta give him
