Done! Tulip Brooch
This brooch took the longest time to make. The frame for this brooch was shown in my previous post here, picture right at the bottom. This is a custom made piece. The design for this piece was sketched by the customer so most of the time was spent figuring out how to wire wrap the design so that they flow and it does not look like a bunch of wire wrapped

my first georg jensen brooch
I had another indulgence last weekend. After months of search for a stylish brooch of the right size and look, I finally bought a Georg Jensen Morbius after having no success at Tiffany. I have always like Georg Jensen’s work but the shop front always looks too intimidating to me. It’s either the sales personnel who try to look too ‘cool’ or ‘arrogant’. But this time, I didn’t care about these things cos I needed a nice brooch for too long. The Splash was lovely but after knowing that the Morbius can be used as a pendant, I decided that is the better choice. I like the idea of killing two birds with one stone But, what I should have done is to do a bit of research online before purchasing it from the store. I just learnt that Mulberryhall.co.uk can save me S$100+ if I were to buy Morbius online Maybe I should try them out for Splash. Splash

Make Your Own Brooch
Lynsey, the author of the SwirlyThoughts blog, has posted a great design for a brooch or badge. The design uses very little that most of us do not already have in our crafting bags. All you need are some basic materials and a button or two. The trickiest item to acquire will be a brooch back but this can be substituted with a simple safety pin. Make Your Own Brooch

Brooch Mania
I Seem to be going through a very 'Broochy' time at present, can't stop making them. I promise that these are the last for a while. This one is oval, and measures 53 x 22 mm. Painted with several coats of Twinkling H2O's ( Moss Green , Rich Cocoa) Deco Beads in Pearl Green applied with Glossy Accents across the centre and some mirrored seed beads applied in a pattern (holes upright) Finished with a brooch back. The next is oval again and same dimensions as above, covered in printed paper adhered with PVA glue and trimmed and sanded around the edges. Pattern accentuated with Versamark pen and heat embossed with Claret and Pink Pearls EP. Edged with Krylon Gold. This one is triangular, base 55mm sides 40mm. First covered in paper and then selectively heat embossed with Versamark pen and Stardust EP after edging with Ochre Chalk Ink. Finally sealed with paper Mod Podge. The next is 35 x 40 mm, Stamped and coloured with ink, heat embossed with three coats of UTEE and edged with Purple Dec

Bazzill Chip Brooch
Inspired by a class by Kirsty, I have produced my first Bazzill Chip Brooch. I used a paper by Joanna Sheen as the background and a stamp by the same person from the 'Victorian Flowers' unmounted sheet by Past Time Stamps. I stamped the flowers in black Stazon on ordinary copier paper and coloured in using metallic coloured pencils. Cut out the coloured image carefully and applied it with PVA glue to the backing paper which had previously been stuck to the chip. When dry I stamped a little Oriental flower stamp in Versamark several times and heat embossed with detail silver embossing powder. Coloured around the sides with light violet chalk ink and painted the back of the chip with lavender acrylic paint. Punched a hole with a crop-o-dile before sealing all over with Paper Mod-Podge. Then I decorated the base with a little silver charm of a fairy with bugle and some silver beads on silver wire. Finally applying a brooch pin to the back with superglue. Will certainly be making more in f
