LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) — The Chicago Bears already were a bit antsy, ready to get through this week and begin their NFC title defense. And that was before Pro Bowl linebacker Lance Briggs left the scene after crashing his new Lamborghini along a highway early Monday morning. Suddenly, a shortened week felt like a long one. The Bears found themselves answering questions about a teammate in trouble with the law, instead of Thursday’s preseason finale against the Cleveland Browns. “We more…
Lance Briggs apparently will emerge from Monday's wee-hours, one-car auto accident with nothing more than a misdemeanor citation and two traffic tickets.
Bears coach Lovie Smith said the team would take no disciplinary action against the Pro Bowl linebacker, whose 2007 Lamborghini Murcielago valued at $350,000 was found wrecked and abandoned on the Edens Expressway shortly after 3 a.m. Monday. "
Talking about cars, here’s a strange car accident. The Illinois Interstate police were investigating a car crashed on the Edens Expressway. It’s a Lamborghini luxury sports car worth $350,000 belonging to a foot ball player, linebacker Lance Briggs of Chicago Bears. Police officials say that the car was discovered around 3am.
Interstate police didn’t find any body inside the car and it doesn’t appeared that anyone was hurt or injured during the accident. They have already contacted Briggs because police are not sure if the linebacker or someone else was behind the wheel when the crash happens.
I wonder what Briggs has to say about this.
Former WBO Heavyweight champion, Shannon “The Cannon” Briggs says he’s ready to step back in the ring and is targeting Wladimir Klitschko. I want Klitschko in the Garden.” The former champ will begin training in October and plans to have two more fights by the years end. MAKING THE TRANSITION TO HOLLYWOOD more…

It appears as if the Bears and Lance Briggs are going to try and work out their differences, as agent Drew Rosenhaus has presented some new proposals to the Bears about getting Briggs back in the fold. While Rosenhaus was in Chicago wrapping up the five-year deal for first-round pick TE Greg Olsen, he gave the Bears some food for thought about Briggs. “We presented some concepts that we think will work for the Bears and for Lance,” Rosenhaus said in the Chicago Tribune.
It has been a stressful offseason between the Bears and Briggs, to the point where Chicago slapped him with the franchise tag when a new deal could not be worked out. The tag will guarentee him $7.2 mil for one season, much to the dislike of Briggs, who has been outspoken in wanting out of the Windy City. The talks between Rosenhaus and the Bears is the first sign of progress for quite some time.
Briggs has gone on record that he will not play for the Bears as long as he does not have a long-term dea
