By Roselyn Capen Due to increasing awareness about breast cancer, a lot of women diagnosed with the disease in the early stages of the cancer and still alive and are doing well. The number of deaths because of breast cancer has fallen steeply, and is still going down, owing to better availability and success of treatments and therapy than a few years back. We are living in a time of apparent brea

You may have heard of a Social Network called Twitter. I use it to keep in touch with a whole bunch of conversations about Internet Marketing, Social Networking and (to a lesser extent admittedly) Property Investment.
However, over the last few weeks, several of the conversations have been on the subject of Frozen Peas, and this is because of a lady called Susan Reynolds.
For reasons she best explains herself, (but to do with a sudden diagnosis of Breast Cancer) she ended up with a bag of frozen peas tucked into her bra for a while (it’s lighter and moulds better than an traditional ice-pac). As she writes:
“That bag of peas added a touch of lightness to what could have been a sad and serious tale.
A bag of peas was something everybody could relate to.
Some people love them, some hate them, some use them for their own injuries.
A bag of frozen peas was a vehicle for conversation and let people tease me instead of having to cry.
It let people share instead of bemoaning.&

I just realized it is more than halfway through October and I haven’t posted anything about this month being National Breast Cancer Awareness month! Last year I listed some great Breast Cancer Bead Jewelry resources that are still available this year.
There are lots of companies selling pink beads and jewelry, but I feel better supporting a smaller organization. And speaking of small companies selling bead jewelry for charity, check out this newspaper article about three little girls created their own bead jewelry business and they donate to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation! From an online article in The Daily Journal:
Nine-year-old Emily, 7-year-old Ellen and 6-year-old Elise make up 3E Creations. Their business is the epitome of not-for-profit: 100 percent of their earnings goes to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Exercise regularly - stay physically active3. Get screened - go for a mammogram for early detection of breast cancer4. Give birth and breast-feed5. Avoid sleeping with your bra on - Wearing it >12hrs can contribute tothe growth of cancer cells in your breasts. How you can help raise awareness on breast cancer:- 1. Spread the word. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. As we all know, besides cervical cancer, cancer of the breast is one of the main forms of cancer that is particularly known to affect women, and if detected earlier on there is a 98% survival rate. The only way you can detect the cancer in its initial stages is by doing a regular breast self examination or BSE. BSE is a woman’s first line of defense
I should be thankful that I am blessed with decent skin. Thanks to my mom. Not that I have natural sparkling skin. Noop.. I mean at least I am not plagued with pimples, acne problem, or pigmentation problem that require specifically-formulated skin care products.

Breast cancer occurs when cancer cells start to develop in the breast tissues. In the recent years, breast cancer has become rampant among the women of the world, being ranked fifth in the list of deadly cancers. Tragically, news had been spreading for more than a decade about famous female individuals who struggled to fight this killer disease, but the fight was in vain. Those included in the list were singers Minnie Riperton and Dusty Springfield, Linda who was the beloved wife of Beatles member Paul McCartney, and Oscar award-winning actress Bette Davis. There still are women out there who are braving this disease, some of whom have won the battle. Still, prevention is better than cure! So to all the women reading this, do take this matter as seriously as you can, before it is too late.Let us explore the symptoms of breast cancer for earlier detection and prevention:One will experience a change in the way the breast or the nipples feel. The nipple may soften or a thick lump may be s

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. It’s a month to get people talking about breast cancer, to raise awareness and to raise money for research.
Breast cancer does affect many lives, men or women. If you can, donate and help support the improvement of breast cancer research and the unfortunate that have been diagnosed with it.
Last year I made The Foo Logs Pink for October but didn’t get around to doing it this year. However, Mr. Robotman did buy a breast cancer ribbon as you can see him proudly wearing it on the top of this blog.
A funny story too, in the post last year, I wrote Breast Awareness month instead of Breast Cancer Awareness. Oops! I wouldn’t have noticed if J didn’t tell me about it. It’s amazing how many people actually missed that too. Well, I made sure not to make the same mistake again this time!

As October is breast cancer awareness month, I've decided to join in the fight and wear a pink ribbon on my site too. One on my header, and one on my sidebar (thanks to Paris for the heads up on that). Yeah I know, my blog can't be any pinker than it already is, eh? :pThink pink!Random breast cancer fact of the day - Breast cancer was the commonest overall cancer as well as the commonest cancer in women amongst all races from the age of 20 years in Malaysia for 2002 and 2003.
This month I plan to support the fight against breast cancer. It seems fitting as my blog is entirely pink. I want to encourage donations at the end of each post, and I also want to post on breast cancer issues during the month of October.
If anyone has any good suggestions for raising money this month, or wants to post a guest post on my blog on the subject, please let me know. I would like to help raise some money this month for the cause, or at least some awareness. :)
All the monies made in October will be donated to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation on Pink Internet Marketing.

I have just been checking out the latest news on DeviantArt and came across an important post that I would like to bring to your attention. DeviantArt member, Moonbeam13 has written an article about breast cancer awareness, she has been involved in supporting and raising money for The Weekend To End Breast Cancer event in Toronto.
She has done this in a fairly quiet and discreet way so we felt it was time to shed a bit more light on what exactly she does for this great cause.
To give a bit of background, in the past 4 years this organization has raised over 60 million dollars in donations and through this has made some landmark strides in advancing the research on breast cancer, which claims the lives of close to 50,000 women a year and about a quarter million women diagnosed per year. This money does make a big difference in helping with in depth gene studies and creating specialized programs for people diagnosed with the disease.
