They say our high temperature is supposed to actually go above zero tomorrow. Granted, it will only be about 2 degrees above zero, but at least it will be warmer. :) I had a couple of bananas to use up, so I whipped up some banana bread today. This is a moist banana bread "spiced" with a little cinnamon and nutmeg. I also added a cinnamon-sugar topping to give this bread a delightful crunch.~Enjoy~
Right before Thanksgiving I managed to grab a couple extra bags of fresh cranberries. I knew that I was not going to be able to use them right away. Instead, I washed and dried them. Then, I placed them on a cookie sheet spreading them out to ensure that most of the berries were not touching. Next, I placed the cookie sheet with the cranberries in the freezer. Once they were frozen I packaged them

From the Lord of the Rings trilogy by J.R.R. TolkienFor those who don't know, lembas is a special bread made by the elves of the Lord of the Rings series. It's shaped into thin cakes and because of its filling nature it's usually used for sustenance on long journeys. Generally wrapped in mallorn leaves, not much else is known about the ingredients other than it contains honey. I'm not quite sure
Coffee and Cinnamon Bread... what a glorious combination on a cold, snowy morning. Except I had 4 thick pieces of the bread and now I feel a little sick and I'm of course thinking if I keep eating breads and goodies this weekend I'll be hoping for some Lipovox or something in my stocking Christmas morning. The bread is moist and wonderful... but even more so because I didn't bake it! LOL. My h
Our family goes absolutely nuts over garlic. Another plus to raising the kids with a healthy variety of foods and never, ever letting them get boxed into only accepting three or four foods they 'would' eat when they were small. This garlic bread is always a hit with my crew, especially my girls. Tonight I made two loaves of french bread and made them into cheesy garlic bread. My 12 year old as

Every year I bake some kind of Italian Christmas bread. I try to do that on time, so I can take it to my italian class the last lesson before the Christmas break. We had our last lesson thursday last week. And I just couldn't decide what to make; I tend to have that same problem that every year. I already made Pandolce Genovese (in the days that I

Interestingly it has a tendency to be food: burgers in America; pasta in Italy; rice in China. For the Uyghurs, a small ethnic group situated in this large province of China, it's their bread.

I added raisins because Chinese bakery raisin bread doesn't have much raisins in it so
