U.S. national team midfielder Michael Bradley has pulled off a dazzling feat, scoring three goals in 25 minutes of play in today's Dutch Eredivisie game between his club team SC Heerenveen and FC Groningen. The son of U.S. men's national team coach Bob Bradley scored in the sixth, 22nd and 40th minutes as his side won the game, 4-2. Videos of the goals have already been posted: here is his first, his second and his third. Bradley even did an interview--in Dutch!--after the game. He now has an impressive seven goals from 10 games played this season. If he keeps this up (or even if he doesn't) it's only a matter of time before a big-name club swoops in and buys him.

We know it as the Bradley Estate.  This  property along with many acres was given to the Town of Needham for its useby the former owner many years ago. Lots of weddings have been held here.   There are presently Rangers who take care of the property and prepare it for events.  It is a another place I like to come to get away from the noise and just read or relax in the beauty of the country side.  There are walking trails and in the summer there is a day camp across the road from this building. It appears that this will be the site of the Senior Center.  The present Senior Center really needs so much work and there isn't adequate parking.  It looks like there is a green light to go forward with the project to house the Senior Center at the Bradley Estate site.  They will ask for $500,000 from Town Meeting Members to launch the project.  They are awaiting for Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick for the decision as to whether the tow

Michael Bradley scored Heerenveen's consolation goal 20 minutes from time, as his team bowed out of the Dutch cup with a 3-1 loss at Amsterdam's ArenA earlier today. It was Bradley's fifth goal in 12 games for Heerenveen, including two each in Eredivisie and UEFA Cup competition. Not bad at all! I didn't watch the game (I have a day job, remember? And besides, it wasn't on TV in the U.S. anyway) but it sounds like a pretty one-sided affair: Ajax took the lead in the eighth minute and doubled up 20 minutes later. By the time Bradley scored, his team was down 3-0. By the way, you can watch Bradley's goal here. Don't say I never did anything for you. It was the second time Heerenveen played the Dutch juggernaut this year. They went down 4-1 the first time, also at ArenA on Aug. 26. USA head coach Bob Bradley has named his 21 man roster that will travel to Switzerland for a friendly next Wednesday. The game will be broadcast live in the U.S. starting at 2:30 pm Eastern on Fox Soccer Channel and Galavision.This particular squad has a very "European" flavor to it, as there are only 3 MLS based players on the squad. The 21-man roster for the U.S. men's national team's game at Switzerland this Saturday features a whopping seven uncapped players and only eight from this summer's Gold Cup-winning side. Head coach Bob Bradley apparently opted to let his MLS players concentrate on the playoffs. Only three MLS guys made the roster--Maurice Edu, Robbie Findley and Chris Seitz--and all play for teams that aren't going to play in the post-season. Well it turns out that San Diego Padres outfielder Milton Bradley has been vindicated by MLB. The Commissioners office announced on Wednesday they have suspended umpire Mike Winters for the rest of the season for allegedly using a profanity against Bradley during Sunday's contest between San Diego and the Colorado Rockies. The result was Bradley going nuclear and having to be wrestled to the ground by San Diego manager Bud Black causing Bradley to tear his ACL. The Padres organization say that Winters was trying to bait Bradley, and MLB apparently agrees hence the suspension. The late Bobby Bonds was an angry and bitter man when he was playing in the Major Leagues, he had a chip on his shoulder and just dared you to knock it off. A few years before his untimely passing, in a very candid interview Bonds said that he looked back on his playing days with regret. It turns out that even MLB's version of Siberia, does not want Milton Bradley. The Kansas City Royals the club with the worst record in the American League rescinded a trade they had made with Oakland A's on Friday. Saturday the Royals said that the deal that would give them Bradley in exchange for reliever Victor Nunez was off because of health concerns with Bradley. The outfielder told the Royals that he had a sore oblique muscle, that he had suffered during his last game played for Oakland. Bradley who has been on the disabled list three times in the 2007 campaign, was designated for assignment by Oakland. If they do not trade him within eight days he will be released outright. The Oakland Athletics traded disgruntled outfielder Milton Bradley on Friday to MLB's version of Siberia, the Kansas City Royals. In return the Athletics received Royals pitcher Leo Nunez a reliever with a 4.73 ERA. The A's had designated Bradley for assignment on Thursday, after some caustic comments said to a reporter were printed. Today was a really enjoyable appearance on the WDVE Morning Show, as I was greeted by Penn State assistant coach and probable JoePa successor Tom Bradley, who was in-studio for the morning.
