      Pyrex Mixing Bowls with Covers!
I officially go on record that I love Pyrex! In almost 20 years of marriage and heavy, daily use, I still have 3 bowls that were given to me as a wedding gift! Over the years I've only had 1 piece of Pyrex break on me and that was my own fault. I took a hot apple pie straight from the oven and wanting it to cool quickly, I set it outside my patio door on the deck step.Oh, did I mention it was the middle of winter? In Northern Minnesota? And my step was covered in ice?Yes, that uh, may have had something to do with the fact that it shattered on impact with the temperature change. Again... completely my fault.Check out this Pyrex Smart Essentials 8 Piece Mixing Bowl Set. The bowls are rimmed so the edges are smooth and safe. The style is classic, functional, and durable. Fruit Bowls
Fruit BowlsNot for sale this one, I am doing a few paintings just for the sake of it. I also want to enter some for exhibition or competitions and I cant do that if they are all sold. So for a while you can just sit back and enjoy a free show! These bowls are in my friend’s kitchen…did you guess! The weird purple shape is actually purple cauliflower, possibly a mistake to include it as it could masquerade as badly drawn grapes. I am pleased however with the ellipses of all the bowls. In this painting I used a lot of washing back in fact it almost felt like sculpture at one point, pushing paint and water around to uncover form. It is a technique that I really like, the paper becomes stained and shapes emerge rather than sit on top of the paper. Anyway, here it is, let me know what you think.30cm x 30cm. 12in x 12in.Watercolour.

      Slab bowls with imprinted texture
The other day, I was cruising through the blogs that I've linked to on my right hand side bar --> and came across a really helpful article on Emily Murphy's Pottery Blog on how to make a textured rolling pin using a sharpie, a hot glue gun and a rolling pin. It clicked with me and I knew I had to give it a try - since I have been meaning to make some larger plaster texture plates. This is so much easier and less labor intensive. Check out her blog if you want to see the step by step instructions on how to make one yourself.Just the day before, I had pulled out an older lino-cut relief plate to use to imprint texture on a slab that I really liked. Unfortunately, I don't currently have a photograph of that bowl. This is a technique that hearkens back to some of my experiments of printing on clay after reading Paul Wandless' book, Image transfer on Clay. I'll have to share the results of my relief printed bowl with you at a later date.In the new issue of Pottery Making Illustra

SOLDWashed Silk and Chinese Bowls19cm x 21cm 7.5in x 8.3inWatercolour.When painting with watercolour something that I like to do is wash off the paint, doing that leaves the paper stained and makes it possible to build up rich and deep colours with a patina all of their own. This washed silk scarf lent its self to this technique as it has the most beautiful range of blues and purples that I wanted to use to show off my Chinese jugs and bowls. Apparently, Turner used to wash off his watercolours so I am only following in the footsteps of the masters, the best way to learn I think.50 pounds (UK) 100 dollars (USA) and 75euros (Europe). How Often Should I Clean Out My Cat’s Bowls?
You should clean out your cat’s feed bowl and rinse it in warm water on a daily basis. Cats are clean animals and can appear almost phobic about odors that suggest food has deteriorated. Water bowls should be cleaned out every few days, depending on the quantity of water that the cat has consumed.

Lose Weight Using Smaller Plates and Bowls
Yahoo Health has an article posted that suggests that you can lose weight by using small bowls and plates. I suppose it can be a good way to help you keep your meal portions under control, but you will still have to develop some discipline when it comes to overeating. Even if you use small plates what’s to keep you form loading up second and third helpings to satisfy your cravings. The article suggested that a study was done that people who ate off smaller plates achieved a 5% weight loss. Not terribly exciting but anything is better than none. The bottom line is that the more food you put in front of your face the more you are likely to eat. If smaller plates will help you from overeating, then by all means, dump the larger ones. The Nicaraguan locals create everything from wall art to ceramics from kitchen accessories to exotic wood bowls.  The handmade tortilla bowl pictured above is made with a blend of exotic woods and they are all one-of-a-kind. How I Found Out That God Bowls On Monday Evenings at 7
I grew up in a little town named Auburn in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. On Sundays we faithfully attended the Pioneer Methodist Church, directly across the street from Harry Sand's Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home. My folks were married in that church in September of 1929, a fact which had nothing to do with the crash of the stock market the following month. Of course I couldn't know then that my parents 50th anniversary reception would be held in that church, and five years after that, my Dad's funeral. All the Shinn tribe had been Methodists from way back, including my grandfather in Missouri who was a circuit-riding preacher, and some great-great-great grandfather who apparently worked along side John Wesley in the English revivals of the 1700's. Down the street from our church was another church, which my folks referred to as a "holy roller" kind of church, with a sign outside that read: Jesus Saves & Heals Every Evening at 7PM Except Mondays I grew
