Innis and Gunn Original Bourbon Aged Beer
“Once it hits your lips it’s so good…” In my college days, I did a fair amount of keg stands and Frank the Tank impersonations, but since then I’ve out grown keg parties and Will Ferrell quotes (well kind of) and I’ve graduated to beers that taste less likewater and more like beer. Traditional Pecan Pie with Bourbon-flavored Whipped Cream
A Thanksgiving dinner is never complete without some traditional ingredients like Pecans, Pumkins, Cranberries, Apples and of course Turkey. But as we are making a Vegetarian Thanksgiving, I have to omit turkey out of my preparations. The famous Pecan Pie, traditionally a South-western recipe, has become a trademark for thanksgiving season, and my frequent trips to supermarkets and grocery stores has proved that it's a great hit at tables on this day. On asking at the cash register, I was appaled to hear him say that they sell more than 10,000 pies during the 3 days of thanksgiving weekend!!! Wow, and that's just one store!! I am a huge fan of Marie Callendar's Pecan Pie, and this time I knew I would try making one myself. I decided to get into the holiday mood, and hence added amaretto to the basic recipe. And then I came across the Bourbon-laced whipped cream, and I knew my pie would be incomplete without it! So here's to a rich and gooey pie, and to the ultimate way of saying Th

      Bourbon In The Making
By: Elmo Kandel It is a well-rounded argument that the Scottish has the market sewn up as far as making the best product on the planet; however there are a few studs in other stables worth a mention. Bourbon has long been associated with Kentucky and for good reason as it is the state where this craft was first developed.Elijah Craig a Baptist minister in the late 18th century in Georgetown Kentucky unveiled to farmers and townsfolk alike the first Bourbon whiskey where the trend just took off. It is said that even the father of the great Abraham Lincoln got into the action.European settlers brought this trade secret with them to North America and in turn shared it with their new neighbors. Giving way to a boom in production. 1791 was the timeframe for the whiskey rebellion that took place in Pennsylvania where the government elected to impose tax on whiskey and whiskey sales. This did not sit well with distillers so they made their way to the Kentucky Mountains to avoid the collectors

This is a respost that I made again tonight. This is a wonderful recipe that I think everyone will enjoy.I have yet to serve this to any child who doesn't wolf it down and ask for more. And adults seem to like it too. And there is no alcohol in it. As usual I served this with sticky rice and doubled the sauce so I would have some left over to drizzle over the rice.Pretty quick and easy recipe for a busy weeknight as well. The simmering takes the longest. Quite worth your money lo. The sticks are just WOOHOO! Nice nice NICE! Crunchy and fruity, like freshly baked cookies! I think each stick is coated with a very thin layer of the fruity flavoured sugar-syrup, when hardens, gives a very crisp texture. :9Petit Gateau Fromage Chocolat (Bourbon) Price : RM9.80Weight : 57gFound : Isetan KLCCThis is even more ridiculously priced than Pocky. Tuesday Tasting: George T. Stagg Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Tuesday Tasting is a regular feature of Lyke2Drink that explores some of the best beers, wines and spirits on the market. This week we try a barrel strength Bourbon.Mark Twain is quoted as saying, “Too much of anything is bad, but too much of good whiskey is barely enough.” I suspect he was talking about Bourbon and if he were around today he would agree that it is hard to get enough of George T. Stagg Kentucky Straight Bourbon.Stagg is part of the Antique Collection from Buffalo Trace. It's named for a Bourbon pioneer from the 19th Century. The brand was first released back in 2002, but based on my bottle's 140.6 proof strength, this was part of a batch distilled in 1990 and released in 2006.Stagg is a barrel strength whiskey with a praline nose, and a warm, earthy flavor that offers up notes of toffee and spicy edges. Cut with a touch of water it opens into a drink with a fine depth of smoke and grain. This is a bottle that is for special times and very good friends.

Fortune Brands Betting on Bourbon: Company Invests $120 Million to Expand Distilleries
Follow the money. If you take that advice and look at Fortune Brands you will come to the conclusion that Bourbon is back in vogue. The company is heavily investing at facilities in Kentucky. The Booker Noe Distillery in Bardstown that makes Jim Beam is getting a $70 million upgrade that will enable it to boost production by 50 percent to 15 million gallons of whiskey a year. Meanwhile, almost $50 million is being spent by Fortune Brands at the Maker's Mark Distillery in Loretto and another facility in Frankfort. The investment is being prompted by the biggest boom is Bourbon consumption since just after the end of World War II. Much of the growth is coming from higher end products and distillers are expanding now anticipating they will need the whiskey several years down the line to keep up with worldwide demand.

      Bourbon Chicken
This is hands down one of the best kid friendly recipes that I have that kids and adults alike rave over. And it is fairly easy to make on a weeknight. Just serve over rice or egg noodles and you havea great tasting, filling meal. There is never any left over. You could substitute applesauce for the aplle juice, as I did last night because I was out of juice and it worked out fine.I always use low sodium soy sauce and add a sprinle or two of arrowroot to the sauce to thicken it up nicely. You can control the heat with more or less red pepper flake, depending on your preference. This recipe was sent to me from the web by a friend a few years back,so I do not know the origin, but I am glad she sent it!Bourbon Chicken2 lbs boneless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite size pieces (I use thighs)2 tablespoon olive oil1 garlic clove, minced1/4 teaspoon ginger3/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (or more to up the heat)1/4 cup apple juice1/3 cup light brown sugar2 tablespoons ketchup1 tables
