A month long on-site investigation by Cats With Thumbs field reporters confirms illegal immigrants from Mexico are being launched over the border in increasing numbers by a massive catapult. Border Patrol’s virtual fence canceled for not being as good as a fence
Filed under: Misc. GadgetsThe last we heard of DHS's "Project 28" plan to build a 28-mile stretch of virtual fencing along the US / Mexico border in Arizona, it had been postponed until at least 2011 because the towers didn't quite work. Well, it appears that on further review, the system is even more of a total failure, and it's being scrapped entirely: according to Kelly Good, deputy director of the administration's Secure Border Initiative program, Project 28 "hasn't come close" to meeting Border Patrol's goals. Tests of the virtual fence didn't lead to nearly as many arrests as designers had hoped, and the lag from sensor detection to transmission of an image to border agents was apparently a big part of the problem. Boeing, which won the $860M contract to build the system, is now bein

Dangerous TB Patient Allowed into USA by Border Patrol Agent
A globe-trotting Atlanta lawyer with a dangerous strain of tuberculosis was allowed back into the U.S. by a border inspector who disregarded a computer warning to stop him and don protective gear, officials said Thursday. The inspector has been removed from border duty. We can’t even trust our borders enough to believe a TB patient on the do not fly list, with warnings to stop him at border crossings will be stopped and detained. How are we supposed to stop the influx of illegal aliens into the country? This also bring up another question, all these illegals who will get amnesty, are they going to be screened for infectious diseases that are no longer a problem in the USA? I think we know the answer to that question. So what was this border patrol agent’s excuse? The unidentified inspector explained that he was no doctor but that the infected man seemed perfectly healthy and that he thought the warning was merely “discretionary,” He seemed healthy? How lame of a

U.S. Border Patrol Bars Canadian Psychotherapist With Drug Research Far in His Past
This is one of those stories you read and just have to shake your head at. I couldn't write fiction this absurd and surreal. It simply makes no sense at all.On our southern border with Mexico our federal Border Patrol agents are being imprisoned for doing their job. Ex Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean are still behind bars facing over a decade of hard prison time for attempting to stop a drug runner named Osvalda Davila from crossing the border with millions of dollars of marijuana. A personal friend of George Bush named Johnny Sutton was the prosecutor that perpetrated this miscarriage of justice. Search my blog for "Johnny Sutton" , "Ramos and Compean" or "Osvalda Davila" for numerous stories I have posted here. If you haven't been following this story closely you will be shocked and stunned at what the Bush administration is doing to the countries border enforcement agents. History will decide on the so called "Legacy"

The Untold Story of Border Patrol Agent Gary Brugman and the Pattern of Malicious Prosecution by U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton
American Freedom Riders.com.! I have been anxiously awaiting this! I have just now received it via e-mail. Thanks Cactus Wren! What does Sutton and his league of henchman have to gain? I as a concerned American citizen want to KNOW! What does our country stand to lose? If this type of reprehensible behaviour is allowed to flourish? Corrupt politicians that fight against and persecute those that are putting their lives on the line, each and every day to protect the rest of us, and to preserve what is left of America??? Sadly enough, Suttons career of the crucifying and false imprisonment of U.S. Border Patrol Agents did not begin with Ramos and Compean. His former victim, Border Patrol Agent Gary Brugman tells his story…. The Untold Story of Border Patrol Agent Gary Brugman A Pattern of Malicious Prosecution by U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton Written by his own hand, former U.S. Border Patrol Agent Gary Brugman tells how, in the performance of his duty, he was falsely charg

Phyllis Schlafly on ex Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos & Jose Compean
This is an excellent summation of the incredible miscarriage of justice perpetrated by the Bush administration upon two honorable men. This whole fiasco stinks to high heaven and I have no doubt goes all the way to the White House. It is going to be ironic as hell if this whole fiasco blows up in the Presidents face and the Democrats get the articles of impeachment they have such wet dreams about; but it's because of him doing something they are in favor of. ~RJH Townhall story link Let's prosecute drug smugglers, not Border Patrol agentsBy Phyllis SchlaflySaturday, February 17, 2007With mounting bipartisan criticism from Republican congressmen and Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., the Department of Justice has stepped up an unprecedented public relations campaign to defend its prosecution of former Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean, now serving 11- and 12-year prison terms. But new facts keep emerging to prove that this prosecution was a gross injustice. CNN jud

Border Patrol agents fired for changing testimonies
This story just gets worse and worse for the Bush administration every day. The Senate is investigating the beating of Ramos and California Congressman Dana Rohrbacher is saying impeachment is a real possibility if one of them is killed in prison. Three of the other Border Patrol agents testifying against Ramos and Compean have been caught in multiple lies in their court testimony. Two of the agents have since been fired and one resigned immediately prior to being fired. I heard a reporter in Washington DC ask White House press secretary Tony Snow about these incidents and he chuckled aloud about it.  I think that was the gallows humor of someone about to be hung out to dry. The Inspector General has already admitted to misleading the Congress on this last year and stonewalled them when they requested reports to back up their allegations. When the Congressmen requested the reports again after the first of the year they were told they were no longer in the majority and the DHS Inspecto

More on Border Patrol Agents Compean and Ramos
I heard today that Border Patrol Agent Ramos who was sent to a medium security facility in Mississippi was beaten severely 2 nights ago. He is being kept in an open bunk room area with many illegals that would obviously have no love for a Border Patrol Agent. he was kicked and beaten so severely he had significant bleeding from one ear. I heard this from his father in law on a live Los Angeles talk radio program. Even when the prison guards saw what had happened to him they refused to allow him any medical treatment. As of earlier tonight he still hadnt been treated for his wounds. Congratulations President Bush this is a hell of a message you are sending to other Border Patrol Agents. You have no idea how many good solid conservatives you are losing the support of every day. ~RJH Euphoric Reality article link Posted on February 5, 2007Filed Under Immigration, Heidi | DIRTY TEXAS POLITICS: PART TWOUPDATES TO THE BORDER PATROL CASEBy Heidi at Euphoric RealityAll audio files pertaining

US Border Patrol agent beaten in prison, Sen. Tancredo pays visit
Ignacio Ramos, one of the two Border Patrol agents wrongfully convicted of shooting a drug dealer, was recently beaten in prison by other convicts and initially did not get proper medical attention (via Pirates' Cove). Sen. Tom Tancredo visited the officer in prison to see what had happened. From his website's news page (via Arizona 8th):Congressman: Convicted agent's injuries are worse than reported(Feb 10, WASHINGTON, DC) - An imprisoned former Border Patrol agent who was beaten in his sleep has injuries that are more serious than previously reported, said a congressman on Friday.Rep. Guard The Borders Blogburst - Sutton Withheld Exculpatory Evidence In Border Patrol Trial
Sutton Withheld Exculpatory Evidence In Border Patrol TrialBy Darnell McGavock of Independent ConservativeAs far as major finds in how badly the case of former US Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean was not only messed up, but intentionally tipped towards their conviction, legal experts say this is the biggest! The defense says that a document from the Department of Homeland Security confirms that two supervisors were on the scene the day an illegal immigrant drug smuggler claims he was shot in the butt. The defense is just finding out about this document, that US Attorney Johnny Sutton's office had and did not reveal to them during the trial. This was all reported on CNN show Lou Dobbs Tonight last night. I've YouTubed the video and you can watch it below. Why did Sutton's office withhold exculpatory information?Ramos and Compean said they never filed a report because supervisors were there. Sutton claimed otherwise in court. Their version of the story has now bee
