This is only the Little Ones second release but they already find themselves dressed for success. Sunny pop this good don’t come along too often and smiling faces are the order of the day throughout the bands latest ‘Terry Tales & Fallen Gates’ EP. ‘Boracay’ is the second track and takes no time at all to whip itself into a frenzy of jumbled hooks and melodies. And when is the last time you heard the sound of the Caribbean so naturally integrated into a full on pop sensation? Christ, I'm starting to sound like Smashie and Nicey but it seems all sense of reason goes out the window when the sound of summer is blasting from nearby speakers. The Little Ones are currently on tour but sadly won’t be landing on our shores; there are several UK dates however. KDThe Little Ones - Boraca

And I realized that myself after flying to Boracay on several fully-booked weekend flights as a chance passenger. It was a hectic weekend. I found out last Thursday night that I had to be in Boracay Friday and Saturday night. But I already had commitments Saturday morning. So what was the solution? I was a chance passenger on the 3 p.m. SEAIR flight and that wasn't a problem. Then I was to risk being a chance passenger again for the 6:45 a.m. flight back to Manila the next day, hopefully to get to my 9 a.m. appointment in Makati. Boracay island
Situated around 350 km down south from Manila in the Visayas, Boracay is a fabulous beach destination to discover. Sized only at 7 km long by 2 wide it’s a relatively small tropical island that has lots to offer. Just to see it’s 4km long famous white beach is well worth the trip it but the island by itself has around 30 beaches and coves for you to chose and discover. Some are easy of access by foot while others require a bit of swimming to be reached. Alternatively renting out a banca will take you around all of them and beyond. Virtually unknown 25 years ago it has fast grown into one of the Philippines most prized destination. Boracay comes from the the word ‘borac’ which is cotton in English referring to the texture and color of it’s sand. The previous nights sleep was short (about 2½ hours) and as we left our hotel in Manila at around 5 am I was still in a dreamy state wondering if on my arrival if the water would be as pristine & if the sand r

It was a spur of the moment decision. I was sporting a fever and a sore throat in the morning so I wasn't able to wake-up as early as planned. So I missed the early morning bus to Kalibo. I was thinking of exploring Aklan when I decided, what the heck, I'm on a bus that goes to Caticlan anyway, so why not ride until the last stop. So I did and I finally set foot on Boracay! At the ferry terminal, several fees were levied including a PHP50 environmental fee, PHP20 Caticlan Terminal Fee and PHP19.50 for the ferry ride from Caticlan to Cabgan in Boracay. It was just a few minutes and I was there in no time. I had booked a hotel with the help of the tourism office in the terminal. Since I didn't want to spend much, I got a room in a place called Villa de Oro in between Boat Station 2 & 3. For a non-aircon room, I spent PHP800 plus an 8% credit card surcharge (which I know shouldn't be but what the heck).I had my photo taken with one of the Boracay sandcastles which are done by ente

Sr. Police Superintendent Benigno Durana, Aklan Police Provincial Office Provincial Director disclosed this in a press conference recently with the Aklan Police Defense Press Corps. This was PD Durana’s answer to a media man’s question on the implementation of the Human Security Act (RA 9372) and its impact on the protection of Boracay Island from terroristic attacks. Durana said the PNP employs three steps to implement protective laws - intelligence, investigation and target hardening. In the intelligence aspect, Durana said the PNP collects information to protect Boracay Island and preempt any terroristic activity from happening there. On the other hand, he said investigations involve looking at any information that will cause them to believe that there is a presence of terroristic activities already. (more…) Link:
