Harry Hill's books on the stoic horse Tim are marketed for children, but can be enjoyed by readers of all ages. Each book contains a series of well written adventures that Tim and a cast of supporting animals embark on, including "Tim The Tiny Horse Falls In Love", where Tim lies on a bed of rose petals in a parody of American Beauty, and "Tim Does Some Cooking", where the tiny horse tries to make
Being an avid proponent of dividend-based investing, whenever I read any financial or general economics book, I am continuously attempting to put the subject matter in the context of dividend-based investing. I am trying to figure out if it should have any influence in my investment process. Recently, I read the book titled “When Markets Collide – Investment Strategies for the Age of Globa

What can be said about a book which provides us with the single finest opening line in English literature... It is quite difficult to write about the novels written by Charles Dickens, as you have to be one among the thousands of people who have done the job earlier. But I am so fascinated by the charm and attraction I felt while reading ‘A Tale Of Two Cities’ that I could not do without pu

As many people know I have a self published book at Amazon now, and in asking folks for reviews, I have been sending them a copy of the e-book to read (better for me and them, no money to purchase copies, they get a free e-book) and make a recommendation on the value of the [...]
I have some book reviews here that you might think useful... Here's some:10 Things To Do Before You're 16 (by Caroline Plaisted)Beth and Anna are best friends who write out a "to do" list that they must accomplish before they turn 16. They're convinced that fulfilling these tasks - which include getting a tattoo, learning to walk in high heels, and dating the most popular guys in school - will mak
I have been doing a bunch of reading to look for more ideas to trim the fat in the budget. Just thought I would share my thoughts after reading them. Of course these were borrowed from the public library, why pay for something you are already paying for in your taxes!Anyway:Kevin Trudeau's Eliminate debt: What a pile of crap, waste of time reading. I guess if you had really old loans and certain
I am excited to review 2 wonderful children's books that are geared at readying your little ones for Kindergarten and First Grade. My daughter will be entering kindergarten this Fall, and these books couldn't have come at a better time.Out of all the "get ready" books I have seen so far, the Let's Get Ready Series from Cedar Valley Publishing are the most engaging for kids and made from materials

I absolutely love getting emails like this:
“Tim, I just wanted to thank you for An American Hedge Fund and PennyStocking. My boyfriend was the first to read your incredible book and now my boys, Charlie, 6, and Julian, 4, can’t get enough of it; they make me read it to them every night! And your [...]
I used to choose books by carefully reading all the reviews on Amazon.com. Then I realized that most of those reviews were created by friends of the authors. Heartbroken, I gave up reading, which in turn led to heavy drinking and a life of crime. To save my loyal readers such great [...]

Book Reviews
When I do my classroom observation on Fridays I generally have time, when the kids are out of the classroom at lunch or in “specials”, to peruse the classroom library. As I do this I take notes on what they are about, what strikes me about them, what I like, etc. Today I spent a little time today transcribing those notes as formal book reviews on Epinions.
Normally my payrate in Epinions translates into, quite literally $1-2 a month, but for all of December I can earn $10 for every 10 reviews I write. So, its worth taking the time to transcribe my notes now as opposed to later.

This is the first posting for a new feature we’re adding to this blog - Teddy’s Book Reviews. Teddy is a rescued Sheltie adopted by a wonderful couple who have been very helpful to Sheltie Rescue. This very smart Sheltie publishes quarterly book reviews in the Paws Up Newsletter published by Friends of Animals, Summit County, Utah. We provide you with links to these books and reviews on Amazon if you’re interested in learning more about any of these titles.

I’d like to take a moment to thank everyone (Beth) who responded to my previous article “Book Reviews or Book Discussions?“. Book discussions won in a landslide, but like the 2000 American Presidential Election it’s been overturned. Not by an antiquated electoral college, but by practicality.
Looks like I don’t have enough active readers to start [...]
I need your opinions
After the posts by Donna and myself, I’ve decided that I should make books a larger part of the site. I’d like to do more posts about books and reading. What I’d like your opinion on is the structure of those posts.
Should I review books I read?
Or
Should I open a discussion [...]
Want a good source for book reviews? Go to Amazon.com and type in the books you are looking for...and then scroll down and read the customers reviews...costs nothing to read the reviews. Now later if you feel you want to write a review you will actually have to purchase something (not the actual item you are reviewing) or be a customer of Amazon.com to post a review...BUT NOT TO READ THEM!I have found this an immeasurable help. Why? Because even when reading/buying spiritual driven books I would like to hear all kinds of peoples remarks/reviews. Where usually if you are on a culinary book site, most reviews are done by that type of person, or spiritual books on a Christian site are usually all critiques from religious or Christian people. And I would rather have the full compass of review and thoughts on a book, without a certain Bias.I will recommend two great 'spiritual' books (from a Christian stance) that I recently read and enjoyed...I will not review them here, but to say I lik

It can only help if people prepping for GMAT can leave their useful comments over here. Especially reviews of books. I see a lot of people buying books from links provided here. The reason I have put the direct links is that people don't have to search for them or look for reviews before buying these books. They are great books and I can't imagine what I would be doing without them!! I request returning visitors to comment on how they find their books...please spare a minute or two to drop a line!!This way there will be enough activity and knowledge sharing till I am preparing my MBA essays and writing my statement of purpose. Hope you guys are doing good and following the schedule honestly!!
I’ve begun adding some book reviews to the blog. I’ve become an Amazon associate in order to try and generate a little income to support my website. No purchase is required to read my reviews, but if the title interests you enough to buy it, I’d appreciate a purchase via one of my links.
My goal is to provide reviews of books that I’ve found useful, or just plain enjoyable. My first review covers two books on obedience traing for dogs, as those were the most recently read. See the post below for the reason behind the initial purchase. main website under the Articles section.
Daisy is catching on to pottying outside really quickly. She’s such a good puppy! She loves to chew, as all puppies do, but has been very good about chewing on her own toys. She’s found her reflection in the fireplace suround, and the glass windows on the back door. She’s the first dog I’ve owned that’s seen herself, and it’s pretty funny. She doesn’
