From the Hillsboro Argus in Hillsboro, Oregon...The Bonnie L. Hays Small Animal Shelter in Hillsboro has received a $5,000 donation from The Home Depot and a commitment of more than 100 Home Depot associates who will volunteer their time and skills to build a dog agility, training and play area at the shelter.From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, volunteers will build the exercise area, including a teeter-totter, ramp, high jump and a tunnel on a 1,600 square-foot lot adjacent to the shelter, at 1901 SE 24th Ave. They will also paint a dog mural on the shelter's shed.The Home Depot will supply the fencing, wood, concrete pavers, paint and hardware. Bonnie came into rescue in May 2007, after being involved in a cruelty case in a nearby town. She is 3-4 years old and she has always has a happy face! She loves to go for hikes and to play with toys in our play yards. She only gets along with certain male dogs, and likes to be the boss.Bonnie gets very excited when people come around, and so far she has done great with meeting people of all ages. She needs to a home without cats, as she desperately wants to chase them. Another dog might be okay, but it would probably have to be a very submissive male dog...that would let her have her way all the time. Dedicated to promoting and supporting independent artists and designers, My Bonnie & Clyde offers artists of all mediums the opportunity to gain exposure and share their creative expression with the world. Some of the many wares at this on-line shop include really cool wall art by artist Caroline Bolter (also the owner of the site!), great music by recording artist Amanda Rogers, beautiful vintage inspired jewelry by Laura James, and handprinted clothing by Hopeful Monsters.
